Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 223 The Old House Renovated
Chapter 223 The Old House Renovated
Harry grasped the tip of the wand as Levi had instructed.
The cold, serene magic, like snakeskin slicing across his skin, caused the pores on the back and sides of Harry's hands to dilate—but Levi's magic immediately soothed him.
Surging yet serene—is this the professor's magic? Powerful and possessing absolute control, just sensing this immediately sparked countless thoughts in Harry's mind, even quietly planting a seed to follow this path.
"Don't follow my example—Gryffindor's magic is different from mine."
Li Wei seemed to have guessed what he was thinking and took the initiative to offer some advice.
Harry, his thoughts exposed, blushed deeply with embarrassment. "Professor, isn't it better to be like this?"
"There's no inherent superiority or inferiority; it's simply a matter of whether it's suitable or not—well, how should I put it?"
With my magical properties, everything unfolds naturally, but because of its exceptional stability, it lacks the potential for a 'burst' of power. But you…
You're the kind of person who can unleash a burst of power and resist the Killing Curse with your weapon.
"So, my magic has its own unique properties that I need to discover myself?"
Harry's mind works fast—he himself is now aware of this, and is deeply proud of it—who says Hermione is the only one among the three with a brain! He has one too!
As for who doesn't have it, that's not something he's thinking about right now.
"Good, alright, now is not the time for divergent teaching—close your eyes, concentrate, and feel my magic. I will use it to draw upon the magic within you."
Li Wei's voice was calm yet carried an indescribable credibility.
"Forget all the dangerous descriptions of apparitions you've learned."
Now, you are not the spellcaster, but just a 'passenger'—remember our experience on the Knight Bus?
All you need to do is two things: trust and feel.
Harry held his breath, trying to ignore the terrifying images of "split bodies" in his mind—thankfully, he hadn't learned much about this topic, only had a slight experience with it.
If Hermione were here, she would probably be completely flustered—Harry suddenly thought of Hermione's recent behavior and questioned this idea.
Hermione has been elusive lately, rarely seen. She and Ron have almost never met her – or rather, they only ever part briefly before she disappears the next second, leaving them completely baffled.
However, Hermione's name was being circulated all over campus—she seemed to have recently become obsessed with dueling, frequently choosing opponents to challenge, which she claimed was to test what she had learned.
He's not the only one making progress; we cannot afford to slack off.
With that thought in mind, Harry's gaze became firm and focused as he carefully sensed the foreign magic within his body.
Then, just like when using Flash Step, he gently placed his magic on Li Wei's magic, following its flow and imagining that they were becoming one.
"Very good, you learn very quickly."
Li Wei's voice was full of approval.
"Now, focus your mind, perceive my 'goal' and 'determination,' and do not resist the sense of direction it brings."
The next instant, Harry clearly "sensed" a location—he saw an open space that looked somewhat familiar, seemingly not far from where they were at that moment.
Harry quickly understood Levy's intention—indeed, given Professor Levy's style, how could he possibly take him on a long-distance Apparition before he was familiar with and comfortable with it?
Harry immediately relaxed.
Li Wei noticed his 'relaxation' and immediately said:
Finally, maintain a calm attitude; don't be too relaxed, but don't be too tense either. Three—two—one—
Harry's heart pounded like a drum as the countdown began, clearing his mind of all distractions. He felt as light as a feather, completely at ease with the magic that drew him in. "Snap!"
Harry felt his vision spinning, his entire face squeezed into the rubber hose, and a slight throbbing sensation in his temples. The next second, he landed on the ground.
To be honest, the sensation was much milder than using Floo Powder.
"Are you ok?"
"It's alright—I mean, it's very good!"
Harry examined his surroundings and the ground, and realized that he had indeed successfully apparitioned—or rather, apparated his follower.
Words cannot describe his experience at that moment—Harry was filled with genuine anticipation for the magic he would be learning in his fifth year.
“Very good, let’s get used to it three more times, and I will gradually increase the distance—the last time, I will take you to Grimoire Place to concentrate.”
"Snapped!"
With a final Apparition, Harry staggered out of the void.
The feeling of pressure instantly subsided, and air carrying the smell of dust and paint rushed into my lungs.
A solid texture came from beneath my feet, and the surrounding scenery seemed to be rapidly pinched and reshaped by an invisible hand, transforming from blurry blocks of color back into clear lines and solids.
At number 12 Grimmauld Place, the dark gate reappeared before our eyes.
The damp coolness characteristic of London nights enveloped Harry, a stark contrast to the night breeze in Hogsmeade just seconds before.
Despite the discomfort of the process, Harry still wore an excited and carefree smile.
He succeeded! It didn't fall apart, and no parts fell off!
"Well done. When you get back, remember to write a detailed reflection on your experience. I believe it will be helpful to you. This is not homework I assigned you, just a suggestion."
Li Wei calmly withdrew his wand and tucked it into his waistband.
"Yes, Professor, I will definitely do it!"
Harry, panting, made a strong promise—but then he remembered why he was there, and his expression turned serious again.
"Beep, beep."
At Livy's prompting, Harry stepped forward and knocked on the door.
After waiting for a while, the door finally opened, and even though only a corner was revealed, the sight inside still amazed Harry.
The interior of the old house has been completely renovated, and the former dirt and chaos are no longer visible. All the furniture has been cleaned and placed neatly in its proper place.
The dust that used to float in the air was no longer visible, and the floor revealed its original color—the black carpet used to be green.
"It's Master Harry and Mr. Levy—you've arrived—"
Kreacher was dressed in a solemn black suit, and he looked completely different. Although he was still old, he showed no signs of decline. However, his expression was very serious at the moment, and he bowed to the two of them.
"Hello, Kreacher, I'm looking for Sirius. Is he here?"
"Young Master Sirius is inside with Young Master Regulus, but I'm sure the two young masters won't mind having such a distinguished guest—please come with Kreacher."
