Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 238 The Savior's Secret
Chapter 238 The Savior's Secret
October was a sweet yet exhausting storm for Harry.
In the Gryffindor common room, at the corner of the corridor, and even at the entrance to the Great Hall.
Anytime, anywhere, a classmate with shining eyes and a magic wand might appear, challenging him to a duel with an expression of admiration, curiosity, or resentment.
"Harry, can I see your Disarming Charm?"
“Potter, I’m Evelyn, a fifth-year Ravenclaw student. I’d like to exchange dueling techniques with you.”
"The boy who survived a near-death experience, do you dare to accept the challenge?"
Such examples are numerous and continuous.
Well, it's not all bad.
For example, the school beauty twins, the Parvati sisters, have started to show interest in him again and have been frequently trying to strike up a conversation with him lately—but he doesn't have a good impression of the twins and is really busy, so he hasn't paid much attention to them.
But there was another example, a fourth-year student named Cho Chang. After getting to know her through a duel, Harry felt that they got along very well.
Unfortunately, he was really busy, so busy that he was troubled. Every time he and Cho Chang exchanged a few words, someone would interrupt them. But this level of intensity in a duel was something Harry had always dreamed of.
You should know that in the past, many students were unwilling to fight him again after losing a duel with him—and after gaining some insights on the night of time travel, he had too many things he wanted to verify, and his hands were itching to fight.
He can't just give up all of this because of Qiu Zhang—well, mainly because he doesn't have many opportunities to meet Qiu Zhang anyway.
There was no other way but for Harry to keep defeating challengers, striving for speed and precision—but the more he did this, the more those he defeated boasted about his skill, to the point that everyone wanted to try Harry's level.
What's more troublesome is that as the number of challengers increases, some people start looking for better times to take the challenge—such as early mornings or closer to the time before the night tour.
Harry's morning exercise plans were exposed.
At first, someone would block Harry's door at seven in the morning—for about half a month, he would get hit by a Disarming Charm from Harry every day.
After being tortured for half a month, the boy's self-esteem was somewhat hurt—he felt he was torturing himself, so he stopped the plan.
Later on, he felt he could tell this 'news' to others.
Soon, new students began getting up early to block Harry's door, and their numbers were starting to grow.
Then they started competing fiercely—if they couldn't get in line by 7 o'clock, they'd get in at 6:50 or 6:40. Anyway, Harry was getting up very early.
After the news that "Duel King gets up very early every morning" circulated in the chat group, some busybodies began to wonder what time he actually gets up every day.
Well, the main reason is the curiosity surrounding the Weasley brothers, who have risen to prominence in a different form over the past two weeks.
Most of what happened to Harry after he entered the school came from them.
"George, Fred, what are you doing sitting here so early?"
At 5:10 a.m. on Friday, Harry, who had just finished washing up, was about to read for a while before going to the hall to assemble when he was startled by two red-haired figures.
"We're waiting for you, Harry."
"We've opened a betting pool to see just how early you'll get up in the morning."
"Betting odds?"
Harry looked puzzled when he heard this somewhat unfamiliar word.
"You can think of it as someone offering a bounty to see just how early you get up every morning—"
"—A whole Galleon, that's quite a sum, isn't it?"
"Yes, if we could earn this much every day, we could own our own shop in less than three years."
The two brothers winked at Harry.
"A shop?" Harry asked, puzzled and a little flustered.
“Yes, a shop. My brother and I are going to open a shop that specializes in prank merchandise on our own—” “—We’ve already thought of a name. We’ll call it Weasley’s Prank Shop.”
The two brothers were beaming – although they are now focusing most of their attention on their studies, it doesn't mean they have given up on their dreams.
Learning is merely preparation and accumulation for them to achieve their goals.
"Okay. So, do you have an answer now?"
Harry hesitated – he didn't want to reveal that he was doing morning exercises with his senior, Jowell. Harry suddenly felt a little guilty.
The Weasley brothers had already figured it out.
"We've got the answer. We're going to bed now. I must say, you really worked hard, Harry—"
"No wonder everyone's been talking about you lately. If it weren't for your hard work, you wouldn't be worthy of your solid skills."
The two brothers yawned and said goodbye to Harry.
Harry felt relieved, smiled and waved to them, then sat down at the table and began to peruse the Bible—he had downloaded some good habits to cultivate in duels yesterday, supposedly from Professor Flitwick, and was planning to look at them this morning.
However, after watching for a few minutes, he felt unusually restless and couldn't continue watching.
Recent events have made him somewhat restless and also a little arrogant. Even when facing older students, his chances of winning are over 50%, which has made Harry clearly aware of his dueling ability and proud of it.
But he also had many troubles. For example, every time he tried to say a few words to Qiu Zhang, he would be interrupted by duelists who came to challenge him.
Or perhaps, rumors would reach his ears—that he learns so quickly and well because he must have mastered some unique learning methods and tricks, which he keeps secret.
If Harry didn't have them, he would definitely glare at these people, but he really did!
But is Professor Jowellie’s extra tutoring a method or trick?
Harry didn't know, but he did know that it was an extremely lucky thing—he was indeed treated well.
"Ugh."
With a heavy sigh, Harry put away the book and went out to the assembly point.
After he left, two fiery red figures suddenly emerged from the corner and followed him furtively.
Soon, they stopped in surprise at the corner of the stairs, looking at Harry, Cedric, and Professor Jowell!
The three of them left together.
The two brothers couldn't help but exchange a glance.
"So, Harry and Cedric are studying under Professor Jowellie?"
"That seems to be the case, George."
"It looks like this deal isn't going to happen?"
George seemed a little hesitant—this was clearly a secret between Harry and the other two.
Moreover, Professor Jowell's private lectures are truly enviable. Although they are magnanimous and wouldn't have any objections, if it got out and became common knowledge, some people would still feel dissatisfied.
"It's obvious that it can't be done."
Fred shrugged.
"But I think we can follow them and see—we might discover something."
"I agree."
