Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor

Chapter 243 The Unusual Dumbledore

Chapter 243 The Unusual Dumbledore

"Duel Tower? You have a new idea again? Great! I agree!"

In the headmaster's office, Professor McGonagall's delighted voice rang out—if Harry and Sirius were here and saw her enthusiastic attitude, their eyes would probably pop out of their sockets, and they would instantly realize that Levi had been bluffing them earlier.

However, not only them, but even the other teachers and students at Hogwarts could not have imagined that Professor McGonagall's attitude towards Levi had become so intimate.

In Sirius's imagination, Professor McGonagall is a very serious person, so much so that her concern for student safety borders on rigidity.

For something like the Duel Tower, Levi would have to put in a tremendous amount of effort to persuade Professor McGonagall to make it happen.

Therefore, when Li Wei left the office, his sincerity was genuine – he truly felt that he had caused Li Wei trouble, and he was determined that if he succeeded, he would do this matter properly and not mess around.

But for Li Wei, persuading Professor McGonagall was the easiest thing—he had helped Professor McGonagall solve so many problems, big and small, over the past year, making him a million times more reliable than Headmaster Dumbledore.

Professor McGonagall may have had some doubts at first, but last year the students' results were so outstanding that they surprised the entire British magical community. Her attitude towards Levi is now almost one of mindless subservience—and she is unlikely to change this attitude until Levi fails.

Dumbledore was also smiling at Levi, still holding the plan Levi had given him, his gaze lingering on the administrator who had inadvertently flashed by—Sirius Black.

He liked the warmth that Li Wei conveyed in this matter.

“I have no objection either—it’s rare that you want to do something, so I’ll leave it to me to persuade the board of directors.”

"Of course, that was the very reason I came to see you."

Li Wei crossed his legs, his well-tailored trousers stretching slightly with the movement, revealing a straight line—he sipped his black tea with a gentle breath, his attitude utterly unceremonious.

Dumbledore was both annoyed and amused by his self-righteous attitude, and couldn't help but look at Professor McGonagall beside him, trying to find solace in her eyes.

"You should have done it anyway."

Professor McGonagall gave Dumbledore a disdainful look, seemingly unconcerned about Levi's disrespectful attitude.

"Well, it seems I'm a bit superfluous as the principal."

Dumbledore chuckled self-deprecatingly.

Professor McGonagall, however, seemed to remember something and said seriously:
"Since you're never at school, then keep an eye on the Ministry of Magic! Tell Fudge to keep an eye on his Dementors and stop them from wandering around!"

“I know—Minerva, I already spoke to him seriously when he came to the school to apologize last time.”

Dumbledore raised his hands in apology, then glanced at Livy—the two of them had greeted Fudge together the last time he visited—and that conversation hadn't been very pleasant.

Influenced by Livy's attitude, Dumbledore now also has a vague feeling that Fudge is somewhat unreliable. But if Fudge is to step down, who else can be chosen?
Dumbledore did not believe there was a better choice than Fudge.

"Minerva, I'll take care of the Duel Tower matter. Now I'd like to talk to Levi about something else—"

Professor McGonagall nodded without any displeasure and tactfully left the office—Dumbledore had been busy with some very important matters behind her back in recent years.

She always knew.

However, if Dumbledore was unwilling to speak, she would not interfere casually—as the vice-principal, all she could do was manage the entire school when the principal was too busy to attend to it.

That would be the greatest help to Dumbledore. If Livy could also provide some assistance to Dumbledore, that would be even better.

Professor McGonagall trusted him—with Levi joining the team, Dumbledore's tasks would likely become much easier.

"The Duel Tower, huh? Before the tower is built, shouldn't I also improve my students' skills in using Transfiguration in actual combat?"

Polymorph is a crucial element in duels, even more so than spells.

Professor McGonagall closed the door and subconsciously frowned.

Teaching has become increasingly difficult lately—not because the students are uncooperative, but quite the opposite, because they are too cooperative.

Almost every student demonstrated knowledge far beyond their current level in class. Before Professor McGonagall even introduced today's metamorphosis task, they already understood which stage it was and what specific steps needed to be taken.
Professor McGonagall has become much busier than ever just preparing the content to be taught for each grade level.

Having witnessed Li Wei's highly effective teaching methods and learned how to apply Transfiguration in duels, she was naturally unwilling to just casually teach her students and leave them as mediocre learners.

If you're going to teach, you have to teach to the best of your ability—you have to let students practice in the course and learn through hands-on experience, rather than just staying at the theoretical level or squeezing out the teaching of the basic transformation course. Professor McGonagall can no longer bear any of that.

So, there's only one choice left.

Combined classes.

After Livy and Flitwick, she finally made up her mind to break the Hogwarts class system and truly integrate into it!

"Alright. Where should I begin?"

After Professor McGonagall left, Dumbledore sighed—for some reason, his voice sounded somewhat heavy. Levi raised an eyebrow but remained silent.

Perhaps even the air sensed Dumbledore's fatigue, and the atmosphere became subtly stagnant.

Just then, the portrait of Principal Phineas Black on the wall suddenly spoke.

"Li Wei, I have seen everything you have done for the Black family—from now on, you will always have the Black family's friendship. Thank you."

Felix's expression was solemn. Levi turned his head and glanced at him. Just as he was about to speak, the other portraits of the principals had already pressed him under the frame and he could no longer be seen.

"Shut up! Can't you see this is the time to discuss important matters!"

"..." Li Wei turned his head expressionlessly and saw Dumbledore looking somewhat stunned.

His mood seemed to change slightly after being interrupted by Phineas's tactless outburst.

"Ok."

Dumbledore waved his hand, ignoring the portraits, and sat down in his chair.

"I wanted to tell you that I've found another Horcrux."

"Really? Where is it?"

“I have destroyed it.” Dumbledore’s right hand slipped discreetly under the table.

Li Wei frowned.

"why?"

"what do you mean?"

Dumbledore looked up at Livy.

"Hornets—weren't we always the two of us to confirm them before destroying them? Why did you act alone this time?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't let you know, because I suddenly had this urge to do it."

Dumbledore's attitude suddenly became somewhat subtle.

“That doesn’t convince me, Dumbledore—so, what is that Horcrux?”

“It’s Marvolo Gaunt’s ring—I found it in Gaunt’s old house—the place where Tom’s mother and grandfather used to live.”

"So, the initial seven Horcruxes are now down to three?"

"Yes, and I'm certain that one of the Horcruxes will be Helga Hufflepuff's Golden Cup, but finding its location will be quite difficult."

In such a short time, we've already found four Horcruxes. That's quite an achievement—even without me, I believe you could have accomplished all of this.

"What do you mean without me? Don't even think about shirking your responsibilities. This is our mission, not just mine alone."

Li Wei waved his hand, expressing his displeasure at Dumbledore's sudden act of destroying the Horcruxes on his own.

"So that's all you wanted to say? I'm leaving now."

Goodbye, Li Wei.

Dumbledore waved his left hand, while his right hand remained hidden under the table, covered by a huge black leather glove that reached halfway up his forearm.

After Li Wei left, he slowly removed his gloves, revealing a shocking scene—his right hand was black and withered, as if it had been scorched by hellfire, completely withered.

"Hey"

In the room where Dumbledore was all alone, his heavy sigh echoed.

He was ashamed to tell the reason why he had fallen into the trap, and he didn't dare let Li Wei see this scene.

That would mean that this elder, who had been advising Li Wei against pursuing immortality, actually harbored a different kind of pursuit of life—which would be incredibly ironic.

Although Livy did it for himself, Dumbledore wanted to see his sister one more time, which is why he was attracted to the Horcrux—Marvolo Gaunt's ring, one of the Deathly Hallows—the Resurrection Stone, and thus put on the ring.

But what's done is done, and Dumbledore wouldn't stoop to deceiving himself.

However, in doing so, he also forever lost the right to comfort Li Wei.
