Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor

Chapter 256 Duel Cup Season 1

Chapter 256 Duel Cup Season 1
The third week of November.

Well, if it weren't for 'that' news, the young wizards probably wouldn't have had time to care about what week it was.

Double the classes, double the homework, and I still have to squeeze in time to practice questions using study guides to solidify my knowledge. If I'm really motivated, I'll even go to the Duel Club for activities on Sundays.

When passing by the auditorium, I occasionally glance at the job information on it to find some motivation and direction for myself.

The chat group messages get 99+ in just a few minutes, and you might miss something interesting if you're not careful.

It can be said that while Li Wei's week was filled with a large number of classes, he also successfully made his students feel the same kind of trouble as him.

Well, this can be considered a two-way journey.

If the students knew that Professor Li Wei, like them, also had the troubles that come with a fulfilling life, perhaps they would feel a little more comforted.

Nevertheless, once the Duel Tower was completed and officially opened on Friday afternoon, the students' already high enthusiasm went completely wild.
We're too busy, but we have to manage.

I don't have time, but I absolutely must make time to go to the Duel Tower.

You usually play around and have fun, but you say you're not interested in duels? Sorry, we don't know each other!

Under Livy's tutelage, nowadays every student and professor at Hogwarts takes dueling very seriously.

Because—"When theory remains just theory, it will always be just superficial."

Whether it's during weekday classes or after-school assignments, there are plenty of practical tasks, not to mention the Sunday Duel Club, which now involves more than half of the Hogwarts students.

The related dueling courses and activities have long been circulated and updated in written form through the manual.

Wizard duels are the best way to demonstrate what each other has learned.

The Duel Tower will also bring them a new motivation – the Ladder Tournament!

A new ranking also means a new struggle has begun!

The students of Slytherin and Gryffindor had been itching for a long time.

It's one thing if students can't compete with Ravenclaw and Hermione in academics, but after Professor Levy emphasized the importance of knowledge and theory and personally experienced the benefits of knowledge, today's students won't stubbornly claim they're not interested in learning.

They admitted they couldn't out-argue those guys theoretically!

But in a duel, they would never admit defeat!
Soon, information about the first season of Duel Tower appeared at the entrance of the auditorium.

[Duel Cup Season 1 Rules]

1. Season duration:

The remainder of the academic year (i.e., from the opening date to the end of the academic year at the end of June).

2. Opening Hours:
每日上午9:00至晚上7:00(家养小精灵会在晚上7:15准时清扫并关闭塔楼,请勿逗留)。

3. Eligibility for Participation:

All students currently enrolled at Hogwarts (first-year students must master fourteen basic spells before they can enroll).

4. Duels use a matchmaking system:

Use the newly launched "Ladder Matching" button in the "Question Practice Guide" app.

The guide will be matched based on the following factors:
Current ladder points (main)
Grade level (prioritize matching within the same grade; if the waiting time is too long, the range will be expanded).

Recent win rate (used to balance strength)
Academy (not mandatory, but the system will try to balance the frequency of battles between different academies)

5. Battle Process:

Once a match is successfully made, both players' compendiums will vibrate simultaneously and display the opponent's name, academy, and a notification that "Please arrive at the designated room in the Duel Tower within 5 minutes."

The Duel Tower contains several individual duel rooms that are enchanted with Expansion Charms and Powerful Protection Charms. The names of the duelists and the room number are displayed at the entrance.

Those who fail to arrive within the time limit will be considered to have forfeited, will be judged as having lost, and will be subject to a penalty: they will be unable to match again for the rest of the week (the guide will temporarily lock this function).

When one side's protective spell is broken, the winner is decided. [Points and Ranking System]

1. Basic Points: Points are gained for victories and deducted for defeats.

The specific value depends on the difference in points between yourself and your opponent (you gain more points by defeating a stronger opponent).

2. Ladder Ranking: To increase the sense of purpose, symbolic rankings are set up (representing only honor, without actual privileges).
There are six tiers, with each tier representing one level:

Newcomer, Apprentice, Duelist, Elite, Master, Legend.

Reaching a new rank will grant you an exclusive virtual badge display within the guide.

Duelists in each grade receive base points equal to 5 times the current grade's score.

3. Leaderboard: The guide will introduce three new leaderboards and redesign the weighting of each.

Individual ranking leaderboard (ranking across the entire university).

College Ladder Ranking (calculates the average score of the top 50 students in the college).

Grade ranking.

The leaderboard is updated daily at midnight and is displayed on the magic wall at the entrance of the auditorium and inside the encyclopedia.

4. Season settlement rewards:

College Cup Score Rewards:
First place: +50 points

Second place: +30 points

Third place: +10 points

Personal honors and awards:

Top three on the overall leaderboard:
They were awarded gold, silver, and bronze "Hogwarts Duel Medals" by Professor Levy, as well as a special honor ribbon that could be worn on their school robes.

First place in each grade:
Win the title of "Grade Duel Champion" (permanently displayed in the guide).
Those who reach the "Master" rank or above:
You will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one guidance and consultation from any professor.

—A message from Professor Li Wei:
Remember, the best duelist is never the one who is best at attacking, but the one who knows himself best and is best at controlling the situation.

A group of students crowded in front of the auditorium, chattering excitedly, creating a lively atmosphere.

The professors who were passing by all saw this scene, and with gentle smiles on their faces, they quietly brushed past them and entered the auditorium.

Hogwarts is definitely getting more and more lively these days.

As for whether too many activities will distract students and affect their learning,
Apart from Professor Trelawney, who was in charge of the divination class, no one was worried about this.

The more knowledge students acquire, the more agile their minds become, and they frequently apply what they've learned to other situations, making the classroom atmosphere many times more positive than before.

Furthermore, as the guide is continuously updated, in addition to the main courses, elective courses are also being added to the guide's question bank, allowing students to study the content they are interested in on their own.

The biggest change in Hogwarts students today is their self-learning ability!
As for Professor Trelawney?

She was always talking nonsense all day long, and was the only one who refused to use the book, regarding it as "a source of misfortune".

She made far too many sensational claims, especially her classic prediction of a student's death at the beginning of each academic year. As a result, not only professors but also students began to disregard her words.

It's a consensus among students that you can't learn anything in divination classes.

If students still sign up for divination classes next year, they will probably just treat it as a relaxing class to slack off and get some credits.

What did that sentence say?

As you know, I have always been a staunch follower of Professor Li Wei, whose wisdom is simply incredible!

As for Professor Trelawney? I wish her a long and healthy life, carrying with her misfortunes.
