Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 280 Snape's Workshop
Chapter 280 Snape's Workshop
"Hmm, only one location remains."
Li Wei took out the list and checked the checklist—only one place remained.
Snape's potions workshop was still located in the basement, seemingly next to his office.
Because the underground was too gloomy, no professor wanted to compete with Snape for this location.
However, after entering the cellar, Li Wei's senses underwent a slight change.
The tall candlesticks paved the way all the way from the intersection to Snape's office, illuminating the dark underground with remarkable clarity, and surprisingly, a warm feeling permeated the walkway.
Not only Li Wei, but even his two assistants showed surprise on their faces.
Snape's potions workshop wasn't specially decorated; a plaque hung on the heavy wooden door, and candlesticks guided the way—that was all the decorations he had.
Looking at the crude stage, Li Wei couldn't help but shake his head—this was truly the most shabby place he had seen during the inspection.
He didn't think Snape was a perfunctory person.
However, this guy is indeed too stubborn in his actions—Li Wei raised his hand and tapped three times, neither too hard nor too soft.
There was a moment of silence inside the door, which was then silently pulled open.
Snape's tall figure filled the doorway, which was a third open, and he stared at Levi with a gloomy expression.
"The event started at 2 PM, but you only arrived at 1:30 PM?" Snape paused for a moment, then added, "I thought the review would be finished much earlier."
"It's coming to an end. This is your last stop."
Li Wei responded subconsciously—Jia Meier chuckled behind him, seemingly in a very good mood today.
Snape's face visibly darkened—Levi, realizing what was happening, added a comment reflecting on Snape's earlier attitude:
"Now I can focus all my attention on your field—although I don't think you need any advice from me, do you?"
Snape's lips curled slightly, his anger vanished, and he puffed out his chest with self-satisfaction, saying in a low voice:
"of course."
He stepped aside to make way, and the scene inside the workshop came into view.
Four long tables were arranged neatly, each with three standard silver balances, a bronze knife, a grinding bowl, and a crucible.
A huge blackboard was wiped clean, with a long string of words written on it. Next to it stood a shelf with various material containers arranged in categories, all clearly labeled.
"An interesting potion? It looks pretty good."
Li Wei looked at the words on the blackboard:
Optional recipes:
Color-transfer agent: The finished product can make the liquid slowly circulate between purple, blue and green for a duration of no less than ten minutes.
Long-lasting and rich fragrance: It exudes a stable and pleasant pine or fir scent that is not easily dispelled by common odor-dispelling spells.
Seamless adhesive: Used to bond ordinary paper, parchment, or thin wood chips, leaving no obvious marks at the seams, and is reversible within one hour.
There are twelve kinds of material containers on the shelf. You must choose no more than five to prepare the medicine. Incorrect selection will cause the medicine to become ineffective or produce harmless but annoying byproducts.
"It seems you've already considered the security issues without me having to tell you."
“Of course.” Snape hummed, his lips twitching again.
"All three potions are interesting—but be careful of the Weasley brothers; I suspect they might add color-changing potions to students' or parents' meals."
The same applies to traceless adhesive.
Although Levi's reminder was well-intentioned, Snape's expression still turned slightly displeased. "Don't worry, no one will dare to do anything with my potion—if they want to have a peaceful Christmas next year."
"Hmm—I have no objections to anything else. As for the long-lasting fragrance with a fir scent—I'm actually quite interested in it too."
Li Wei then turned to look at his two assistants.
"How about we each try to blend a fragrance using the materials he has?"
“Aren’t you getting a little carried away—” Snape was only halfway through his sentence when Camille stepped forward excitedly and said, “Wow, is this Professor Snape’s secret recipe? It must smell wonderful.”
She was in such a good mood today that she even gave Snape, this 'stranger,' a friendly look.
"Professor Snape, thank you for the skincare potion. I love it—you truly are amazing, as expected of the Potions Professor at Hogwarts! I never imagined potions could have such an effect!"
"I also like fir trees—the smell of pine is a bit too strong for me."
Jowell followed and opened the material container on his own—but his actions were very gentle, unlike Levi who would wave his hand and grab the materials from a distance, causing Snape to instinctively overreact and breathe on them.
His anger, which was already quite mild, instantly dissipated after his two assistants stroked his hair.
“Pine and fir are the easiest fragrances to blend—in fact, with just a few complex variations, I can blend at least nine different fragrances from these twelve materials.”
Li Wei had already selected the materials—cutting, grinding, and boiling were the three processing steps that proceeded spontaneously under the influence of magic.
After doing all this, he turned to Snape and clapped his hands perfunctorily with only his fingertips:
"Wow, Professor Snape is amazing—such a capable professor, yet he's voted the most unpopular professor by students from the other three houses. That's quite something."
"The second half of the sentence is superfluous."
Snape said coldly, not angry with Levi.
Is he unpopular with students?
What year's old school calendar is that?
Since his emojis were created, students have fallen in love with him through repeated use of them!
Let alone Slytherin students, nowadays, which student wouldn't say something like this when faced with something infuriating?
"Troll, stay away from me."
Huh? Do you know what the value of Snape-style disdain is?
Snape even became somewhat troubled—he would occasionally lose his temper and be sarcastic to the students, but they were no longer afraid of him at all.
Even Gryffindor students would cheer and shout on the spot:
"This is it! This is exactly what I wanted to see!"
They treated their belittling as a performance!
"Snape, since you're so particular about fragrances, why don't you get one custom-made for yourself?"
While waiting for the potion to be processed, Li Wei leaned back against the long table and chatted with Snape.
"This is something for witches to amuse themselves, what use is it to me?"
Again.
Li Wei shook his head and continued:
"But if Lily were still here, she would like this kind of thing too—if only you had researched something like this and given it to her as a gift, maybe—"
"So you can't talk unless you mention her to me, huh—? Do you need me to poison your voice? It's useless anyway, isn't it?"
Snape's forehead veins bulged—but this time he suppressed his anger and only muttered curses at Levi.
