Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 283 The Duality of Things
Chapter 283 The Two Sides of Things
The first day of the winter celebration has come to a perfect end.
At six o'clock in the evening, the students and parents dined together—pure-blooded students and their parents sitting together, exuding an unpleasant aura.
Fortunately, those parents no longer had time to denigrate mixed-race or Muggle people—because they saw that conspicuous ranking list.
In terms of performance, the achievements of the pure-blooded students are far from sufficient. This may be because they were the last to accept Li Wei's ideas when he first came to the school.
Or perhaps it's because they have too many preconceived notions about magic, which makes them somewhat slow to accept Levi's way of thinking.
As a result, at half of the parent-child dinners, parents would seriously and elegantly criticize their children for not being good enough, while the pure-blooded wizards would protest in dissatisfaction.
This was a very novel scene; the young wizards sitting at the other tables had never seen anything like it before.
Well, during this period, not only the barriers between the four academies, but also between different bloodlines have diminished considerably, so perhaps they shouldn't gloat.
But I really couldn't resist.
During a break from their meal, a group of young wizards with their heads down were rapidly exchanging messages using their gadgets. Various emoticons appeared in the chat group and were quickly responded to.
For a moment, the auditorium was filled with the soft clinking of knives and forks, whispers, and satisfied sighs.
The gold and silver decorations shimmered in the candlelight, illuminating every face—whether excited, thoughtful, or still bearing the lingering warmth of a family argument.
Just then, Headmaster Dumbledore slowly stood up from the main seat.
“It’s Christmas again,” his voice was gentle and clear, like the flames dancing in a winter fireplace, bringing a comforting warmth, “but this year is noticeably different.”
His gaze swept over each professor on the panel, over the faces of the students and parents, and he said happily:
"First of all, I would like to thank the professors for their joint efforts—thank you all for contributing to this winter celebration—and when the last day comes, we will gather here again for another banquet."
Amidst the students' enthusiastic applause, Dumbledore spoke again:
"So—a heartfelt thank you to the house-elves for providing us with such an unparalleled treat. And of course, to the few mischievous Bowtruckles trying to sneak in and steal some pies in the distance; we have to thank Hagrid for spotting them in time."
A soft, relaxed laugh rang out, softening the atmosphere in the auditorium.
“Finally,” Dumbledore raised his mead glass, the amber liquid inside shimmering with a captivating luster, “let us raise a glass together.”
Everyone stood up and raised their glasses.
"For this wonderful winter celebration," Dumbledore's voice was full of strength and blessing, "for Hogwarts—our eternal home, and for us who, even in the cold, still thrive and remain connected!"
"cheers!"
"cheers!!!"
The deafening response echoed throughout the auditorium.
Even the most discerning, pure-blooded parents sitting among them were touched by this warm and hopeful scene.
They couldn't help but recall the leaderboard they had seen that morning—the task board in the center of the auditorium, and the replay of the duel recordings on the large screen in the auditorium.
Many people's thoughts wavered slightly as they turned to look at their radiant children. Perhaps their tone had indeed been too harsh.
But besides them, many other parents also frowned. They sensed a dangerous trend.
Students from four colleges, students of different grades, students of different backgrounds, they seem to be merging?
This is definitely not a good thing for them.
Bathed in warm lamplight, Dumbledore stood on high ground, smiling as he watched the parents depart on the Hogwarts Express.
Li Wei stood beside him, his gaze fixed solely on Professor McGonagall.
"Li Wei, we haven't been talking enough lately—"
Dumbledore turned to Levi and said with a smile:
"Thank you for everything you've done for Hogwarts—I've always seen it—I may not have expressed enough gratitude—but I truly love Hogwarts today."
"No need for further words—let's set off. I hope to be back for the celebration tomorrow." Li Wei exhaled softly, his breath turning into a thin mist in the air.
"Ok."
Dumbledore held out his wand and offered it to Levi.
As Levi grasped the tip of his wand—with a snap—the two vanished from Hogwarts.
When the two reappeared, they were in a neat little stone house located in a garden.
"This is it," Dumbledore said, looking around the house.
"Hmm—what are you planning to do next? Also, I think he's probably already discovered us."
Li Wei's voice conveyed a sense of ease and nonchalance.
Since Slughorn didn't escape the moment they appeared, it's no use trying to run to the ends of the earth now.
"Hmm—I think you can convince him—so I hope we can avoid violence as much as possible."
As you know, he has always been a respected elder in the wizarding world.
Should I come?
Li Wei frowned and took the lead.
The hinges of the front door were open, and the door was hanging crookedly, but he didn't care at all. He just pushed the door open and continued forward.
He casually walked through the narrow doorway and stopped precisely in a living room.
The living room looks to be in pretty bad shape.
An old clock shattered at their feet; the face was cracked, and the pendulum lay a little further away, like an abandoned sword.
A piano lay overturned on the ground, its keys scattered everywhere, and nearby, fragments of a shattered chandelier glittered.
The cushions were scattered haphazardly everywhere, already deflated, with feathers peeking out from the cracks, and broken glass and porcelain shards were scattered all over the floor like powder.
"Snapped."
Li Wei snapped his fingers.
A steady light source is generated from inside the living room, covering the entire room down to every corner, but it does not shine outwards.
Even if someone looks in from the outside at this time, they can only see pitch black.
Li Wei glanced at Dumbledore—who simply lowered his head slightly, indicating that he should handle everything.
Despite some trouble, Levi has recently developed some patience with people.
'Restored to its original condition.'
He simply waved his hand, and all the shattered furniture, tiles, and glass floated up and quickly returned to their original state.
Then he and Dumbledore sat on separate sofa chairs, and the tea canisters and porcelain on the table spontaneously flew to the round table in front of them and began to brew.
Then, Li Wei extended an invitation to the messy room.
“Slughorn, let’s talk.”
