Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 296 On Cooperation with Dark Magic
Chapter 296 On Cooperation with Dark Magic
"Dong dong dong."
"Please come in."
Snape, with a serious expression, walked into Levi's office.
"Snape? What's wrong?"
"How did you do that?" Snape looked at Levi with an inscrutable expression. "How did you convince Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall?"
Li Wei looked up from his newly revised black magic lesson plan and chuckled:
"Is this what you came to me about?"
“Isn’t that important?” Snape asked, sitting down opposite Levi at his invitation. After a pause, he suddenly said, “I support you.”
“Some foolish and conservative people have a problem with what you’re doing—but I think you should ignore them completely; time will prove you right.”
"Thank you."
Li Wei glanced at Snape in surprise, not understanding why he had suddenly started saying such cheesy things.
"Ah."
Snape nodded in satisfaction, a proud and self-satisfied smile spreading across his face, just like when he was young.
He didn't know when it started, but he and Li Wei had been able to maintain a calm and peaceful conversation.
This truly pleased him—it showed that they had both grown.
The gaps in our youth may be filled more than a decade later.
Thinking about this, Snape became somewhat tempted.
"What are you writing?" He leaned forward, expressing his curiosity openly for the first time about what Li Wei was doing.
Levi picked up the lesson plan, which only contained some core ideas, and casually handed it to Snape:
"It's nothing, I'm just preparing lesson plans related to black magic—actually, I don't know much about this part, and I'm planning to learn and record my insights and thoughts as I go, so that they can serve as guidance when I teach my students."
By next year, I'll have a complete set of fifth-grade lesson plans—"
As for the sixth and seventh graders, since they had never been exposed to dark magic before or had not studied it systematically, Levi also started teaching them from scratch.
As for how much they can learn, that depends on their own fate—according to Li Wei's estimate, these students, who haven't even fully learned advanced spells, belong to the first batch with insufficient foundation, and their learning speed is probably not very optimistic.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Snape put down the parchment and stared at Levi. After a moment of hesitation, he changed his tone and said, “I mean—I know a lot about dark magic, and I can help you.”
Li Wei glanced at Snape again in surprise, instinctively wanting to refuse—since it wasn't something he had compiled himself, it would inevitably be slow to use and wouldn't be conducive to him providing high-quality teaching content to his students.
But then he thought again, Snape had been studying dark magic since his student days and had even invented high-level dark magic like Shadowstep. It would be a waste not to use such experience.
"You've already seen my basic ideas—what do you think I'm lacking?"
Li Wei never minded learning from others' experiences—however, having been at Hogwarts for over a year, he could only rely on himself and two assistants, so he had become somewhat rusty at this.
“You underestimate the nature of dark magic, Levi.” Seeing that the other party was seriously seeking his guidance, Snape’s smile became even more confident and pleased.
"The difficulty in learning black magic has never been in 'knowledge,' or rather, that is secondary."
"The most difficult things to overcome throughout the learning process are temptations and the costs," Snape said, leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed.
"Your path in magic has been too smooth—though there have been twists and turns, they have all been overcome by your talent, so powerful magic does not hold a fatal attraction for you."
But that doesn't mean these students, whose intelligence rivals that of goblins, can resist such temptation.
What kind of sweet venom will their souls secrete when they first truly feel the power to absolutely dominate the suffering of others?
You cannot measure it.
Similarly, you who wield power will never know how much useless kindness people are willing to sacrifice as bargaining chips in order to gain that power.
Li Wei listened attentively and nodded thoughtfully.
Snape was very pleased with his appearance.
“What you need my help with isn’t compiling theoretical content,” he continued smugly.
"Aren't you going to help me? I thought I could teach you the theoretical stuff too. At the very least, you could write me a teaching plan, right? I won't just copy it directly, but I'll think about it carefully."
Li Wei's thoughts were somewhat blank, and he interrupted emotionlessly with his dead fish eyes rolled upwards.
"Stop giving me that bossy attitude!" Snape's lips twitched. "Do you think I have a lot of time? I'm already swamped preparing the Potions lessons, where would I find the time to write lesson plans for you from scratch?"
"I know, I know—I thought you were interested in this kind of thing because I saw how much you liked the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."
Don't you think it's like I'm giving a lesson, but I'm using your teaching materials, and you're the one actually teaching the class?
A slight smile crept onto Li Wei's lips—he used to think Snape was crazy when he lost his temper.
Now that the other person has calmed down, he actually finds it quite amusing to tease them—well, he's getting more and more leisurely these days.
In contrast, Snape's facial muscles twitched this time.
But after a short while, he calmed down, though his voice became much more muffled, and he suddenly looked somewhat dejected.
"No need—I only wanted this position because I thought no professor could surpass me in the mastery of dark magic—but you've done a great job, and I'm very confident in entrusting it to you."
Furthermore, I couldn't persuade Dumbledore to let me teach his students dark magic—if I did, he would definitely mark me as a future threat.
His momentum waned as he spoke, and when he looked at Li Wei again, a complex expression appeared in his eyes:
"Therefore, the help I will provide is definitely not to help you organize lesson plans, but to help you mark those dangerous courses."
You will realize more clearly that once some principles are truly understood by wizards, they will inevitably develop a desire to try them out.
“Great, it looks like with your help, this plan will be even more successful.”
Li Wei said it casually, his words lacking sincerity.
But Snape didn't care.
"So, does this mean we've reached a cooperation agreement?"
He stood up and extended his hand to Li Wei—this time, he didn't try to escape from their conversation.
Li Wei paused for a moment, but then stood up and took Snape's hand.
