Chapter 316 The Return of the Demon King

Easter has finally arrived.

Snape's undercover operation went exceptionally smoothly. After he managed to reply, the purebloods began to secretly mobilize, searching for those who had chosen to support the Dark Lord after his resurrection.

On Easter Sunday, after the children had run and played in the castle, searching for the Easter eggs the professors had laid out in advance, Levi, dressed in loose clothing and wearing a death cloak, left with the house-elf Barton.

Snape then stepped out from the crowd and added unicorn blood and dust from the hearts of various dark magical creatures, followed by batches of ground plant powder.

The dark red liquid mingled with the black powder, creating eerie bubbles as it was burned by the embers, emitting an unusually sweet and fishy smell.

Amidst the bubbling sounds of the potion's chemical reaction, a group of black-robed wizards stepped forward in unison, forming a long line around the magic circle. They let the cold rain soak their hoods and robes, and began to chant softly towards the misty, desolate forest ahead.

"Demon King, forced into slumber, your loyal servant has arrived."
May your holy blood awaken your lingering soul.
May the core of shadow strengthen your soulfire.
Your servant voluntarily donated his flesh and blood.

Following in your footsteps
May your glory once again shine upon every inch of the magical world.

As the servants called out, the goat's blood runes on the magic circle suddenly lit up with a ghostly green light, reflecting off the boiling potion in the cauldron.

The mist in the forest seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, transforming into a strong wind—a fine, whispering sound, like the scraping of rust, began to murmur in the wind.

The sound was like the hiss of a snake.

Everyone who heard the sound felt their hair stand on end, and their bodies lost all warmth.

A muffled thud echoed from within the dense forest as tree trunks were brutally snapped, and the unusual whistling grew ever sharper.
Amidst the unease of the crowd, two enormous lanterns, like ghostly flames, appeared in the rain—followed by a massive torso that seemed to grow out of the darkness.

Nagini, the giant snake, was Voldemort's pet and one of his most loyal servants.

The dark green scales gleamed with a dull, cold light under the dim glow of the magic circle.

Upon seeing the group of wizards, it showed no fear. Instead, it raised its head high, opened its massive mouth, and let out a terrifying hiss, revealing the venom on its teeth.

"call--!"

A gust of wind blew by, and a second screech echoed in the darkness.

"Finally—someone has come to awaken me—my followers—"

The pure-blood wizards retreated, their faces showing both fear and excitement.

Laxus Gonço stepped forward and shouted:
"Great Dark Lord, we are messengers from the pure-blood family, willing to help you regain your physical body and restore order to the magical world!"

However, the voice ignored him and instead burst into laughter in the darkness.

"Severus—you're still alive? You shameful traitor, you forced me to recuperate here for so long, and you still dare to show your face in front of me!" Upon hearing this, the crowd made way, completely exposing Snape, who was already at the front.

Seeing this, Snape's lips twitched, but his face showed no sign of panic. He simply said calmly:

"I remain 100% loyal to you—"

"Liar!!!" He had barely opened his mouth when the voice in the darkness began to roar in fury.

It was as if a fierce wind swept past everyone, came near Snape, and reached into the cauldron beside him.

Then, the voice in the darkness became a little calmer:

“You’ve done well, Severus—well, I’ll assume for now that you’re still loyal to me.”

After everyone subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, Voldemort's next question immediately made their hearts jump again.

"Then—which loyal servant is willing to be my temporary body?"

"We've already prepared everything for you—"

"I don't want what you've prepared," Voldemort's voice held a hint of amusement. "I want to choose for myself."

His words froze everyone in place.
But no one dared to say no.

Even though Voldemort is likely in a state of extreme weakness right now and can't do anything at all—they dare not gamble.

Especially the attitude the other party had previously displayed.
