Chapter 5 Li Wei's Ambition

"It looks like I'm about to start a different kind of life."

After seeing Dumbledore off, Li Wei waved his wand to restore the messy classroom to its original state, then turned to look at the twenty-four students behind him.

"Professor, are you leaving?"

Their eyes were filled with reluctance as they looked at Li Wei—just now, teaching assistant Joe Weili had told them what had happened.

Livy will bring two assistants to teach at Hogwarts, which is the limit Dumbledore can accept.

As for the other students, they had no choice but to disperse on the spot.

There was no way Hogwarts could accept so many outsiders staying there long-term, especially since each of them was skilled in magic and capable of becoming outstanding graduates of Hogwarts.

Even without me, you will continue to improve your skills in the world of magic.

“That’s different, Professor.”

One student couldn't help but speak up.

Without you, we are like people adrift in a dark ocean, without a lighthouse, without a clear direction.

"Then I'll just give you directions, won't I? I'm going there to teach, not to go to jail."

Once I'm settled in at Hogwarts, I'll send you a letter as soon as possible, and I'll continue to assign you tasks.

You don't think that just because I went to magic school, you can all relax and have fun, do you?

When the other students heard Li Wei say this, they were not afraid at all; instead, they showed excited smiles on their faces.

After all, they were a group of people personally selected by Levi who were the most passionate and patient with magic.

"I couldn't be happier, Professor!"

After making arrangements with the students and sending them to another undiscovered secret hideout, Li Wei sat at his desk and let out a soft breath.

"After keeping a low profile for so long, has it finally become inevitable that you'll be drawn into the main storyline?"

Li Wei has a typical engineering mindset. Ever since he transmigrated, he has subconsciously tried to deconstruct magic using scientific concepts.

After graduation, he rejected offers from pure-blood families and kept his distance from mixed-race factions.

He walks on the earth, disappearing into the crowd.

When Voldemort wreaked havoc throughout the British wizarding world, he took ample food and found a secluded Muggle village to live in seclusion, where he discussed magic with his students.

He has come a long way without any special talent or cheat codes; it's all thanks to his own hard work and continuous exploration.

Even so, the path of magic seems to have come to an end.

After his twenty-fifth birthday, Li Wei's understanding of magic stagnated.

If he hadn't known early on that a person's talent is limited and hadn't been consciously searching for gifted magical talents, his harvest over the past seven years probably wouldn't have been much. Magic seems to have a natural affinity for innocent children; their whimsical ideas and their desires always create one miracle after another.

For a wizard like Li Wei, who is about to enter middle age, being able to remain stagnant is already a remarkable achievement.

But living in such a world, how could he possibly be content with mediocrity?
When the Sorting Hat sorted Levi into his house, it hesitated for a long time between Hufflepuff and Slytherin.

Ultimately, however, it still believed that Livy's ambition would dominate everything.

"You are a uniquely ambitious person. You don't know how to seize power and profit, nor do you care about using any means to achieve your goals."

But you are even more arrogant and ambitious than them!

You aspire to stand at the top of everyone else, using your infinite life to overlook the development of all things.

"Arrogant brat, embrace Slytherin! There, you will one day achieve your ambitions!"

Li Wei remained noncommittal regarding the Sorting Hat's assessment.

Could he achieve his ambitions in Slytherin?
Aside from being able to live in a sea-view apartment long-term and acquiring some taboo knowledge from some classmates, he didn't see any other benefits.

The average quality of Slytherin students is quite good.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of them are dominated by the theory of bloodline or the influence of some mysterious person. Under the influence of their ancestors and fathers, they do not believe that they can create miracles by their own strength, and instead tend to attach themselves to the strong.

This limited their development to some extent and was completely contrary to Li Wei's idea that "man can conquer nature".

Livy wanted to be Dumbledore in terms of force and Nicolas Flamel in terms of life; everything else had to give way to these two goals.

Unfortunately, his first target has now come after him, telling him that it is he who needs to make concessions.
