Mysterious Resurrection: What If
Chapter 159 Tian Xiaoyue's Choice
Chapter 159 Tian Xiaoyue's Choice
Yang Jian wasn't just spouting nonsense. He had a coffin nail in his hand, which he had placed in the Guanjiang residential area. If he had the coffin nail today, he was confident he could take care of that man by himself.
Although the supernatural abilities possessed by the tall man were indeed beyond common sense and unimaginable, the coffin nails were still the most outrageous supernatural object in Yang Jian's knowledge, possessing an extremely high level of terror and an utterly unreasonable suppressive force.
Yang Jian even suspected that if the coffin nails could strike the man's body, they could also nail him to death.
Tian Xiaoyue fell silent for a moment. Yang Jian had shocked her too much today. Whether it was his application and development of the supernatural or his courage to risk everything in the face of life and death, she had never seen anything like it before. She had no doubt about the truthfulness of Yang Jian's words.
"Tell me about it." Yang Jian withdrew his cold gaze.
"What is your relationship with Yang Yuan? Where is she now?"
Yang Jian had previously seen a note left by his cousin in that corridor. It seemed that Tian Xiaoyue knew her and had a close relationship with her.
"You know Yang Yuan?!" Tian Xiaoyue was shocked. She never expected to hear this name from Yang Jian.
However, she dared not be negligent and immediately replied, "I don't know where she is, but she made the same decision as you a long time ago."
Tian Xiaoyue pointed to the slowly rotating stone slab at her feet: "She accelerated the flow of time here and disappeared into the distant past. I have no idea where she went."
“Continue.” Yang Jian frowned. His cousin’s background was perhaps more mysterious than he had imagined. Whether Yang Yuan had lived from the Republic of China era to the present, or whether she had traveled to history through this museum, remained a mystery.
Tian Xiaoyue looked into the distance, as if trying to recall. She continued, "I tried many ways to stop her. She was very clever and avoided me by using a corridor. It was also because of this that she forcibly removed two leaves, which is why the tree is not in its current state."
At this point, Tian Xiaoyue took out another leaf from her bosom, which was extremely similar to the one in Wen Zhong's hand.
She continued, "My memory is incomplete; I've lost many things, and these are all I can remember. But I should have known her for a long time, so this instinctive reaction shouldn't be wrong."
"If you want to find her, you must go through this place, but I will stop you from speeding up the time here, even if it means my death."
Her gaze returned to Yang Jian, but this time there was no fear in her eyes.
The museum was of paramount importance to her, though she couldn’t remember why she cared so much about it; it was like an unshakable obsession etched into her mind.
With his ghostly eyes slightly open, Yang Jian stared eerily at Tian Xiaoyue and said coldly, "It's foolish to casually say things you can't do. Killing you is pointless and has no value to me."
"However, I can give you one chance, one chance to continue on to the past."
Tian Xiaoyue stared at Yang Jian silently without responding; she couldn't guess what Yang Jian was thinking.
Yang Jian continued, "I know a place that is very similar to this place. There are many living people in it, as well as some wandering ghosts. Do me a favor, and I can let you continue to come and go freely here."
"I refuse." Tian Xiaoyue interrupted Yang Jian without even thinking. Every supernatural place is extremely dangerous, and places like museums that appear peaceful on the surface are very rare.
Yang Jian wasn't angry that Tian Xiaoyue had interrupted him. He continued calmly:
"First, I'm not negotiating with you. Although I personally dislike it, if you still insist on refusing me, I don't mind altering your memories to get you to do things for me."
"Secondly, I allow you to freely choose when to go to that post office, at least I can guarantee that you can enter there safely." The huge headless ghostly figure behind her had already stood up. Tian Xiaoyue had seen the forest that Yang Jian had created, and she had no doubt that Yang Jian had the ability to modify her memories.
She was furious, but even more so, she was terrified. Faced with Yang Jian, she was utterly powerless to resist and could only let him control everything.
"What do you want me to do..."
"Meet me."
The headless ghostly figure returned to their feet. Yang Jian continued, "That place is now sealed off by a ghost. People outside can't get in, and people inside can't get out. I need you to go deeper in, to the point before the post office was sealed off, and find another entrance."
Tian Xiaoyue glared fiercely at Yang Jian, but that was all she could do now. "Aren't you afraid I'll set some traps for you through there? Or what if I die in there?"
“It’s not that I’m not afraid, it’s that I don’t care,” Yang Jian said coldly.
“Since I dared to let you in, I can naturally kill you again. You are just one of my backup plans. That place is very strange, and I am not confident that I can get in successfully, so I need a few backup plans.”
Yang Jian was very frank; he didn't care at all what potential problems Tian Xiaoyue might cause him after she went in.
"I will tell you some of the rules inside. With your abilities, as long as you are careful enough, you can at least survive inside."
"Ha!" Tian Xiaoyue laughed bitterly. Her fate had been decided by Yang Jian in just a few words, and she had no power to resist.
"Yang Jian, don't give me the chance, or I'll really kill you."
Yang Jian replied expressionlessly, "There are plenty of people who want to kill me. I could count them on two hands if I went out for a stroll. But so far, no one I want to kill has survived and is standing in front of me alive."
Tian Xiaoyue glared again, but she had no choice but to clench her fists and stand silently in place, waiting for Yang Jian's judgment.
"The location is in Dahan City. I suggest you choose a relatively safe time to go. If I remember correctly, there were almost no paranormal events for a period of time after the Republic of China was established."
After saying that, Yang Jian stood there and looked at Tian Xiaoyue. He was patient enough. If Tian Xiaoyue still refused, Yang Jian would not hesitate to modify her memories.
The long silence allowed everyone's state of mind to gradually reset and recover, thanks to the time rewinding in the museum. This was also why Yang Jian patiently waited for Tian Xiaoyue's answer.
Finally, Tian Xiaoyue raised her eyes, seemingly having made up her mind.
"Yang Jian, I hope you can keep your promise, maintain the existence of the museum, and preserve my right to freely enter and leave this place."
Yang Jian nodded. "I'm a very trustworthy person."
He glanced at Zhao Lei and the others, then changed the subject, "Let's continue talking about this place. I remember you just said that this is only the core area surrounding the museum."
