Mysterious Resurrection: What If
Chapter 64 Preparation
Chapter 64 Preparation
Shen Liang put down the phone.
"Wang Chaling will arrive here within an hour, and the other team leaders have already been notified."
Wang Xiaoming nodded and said, "I'm going to see someone, I'll be back soon."
After saying that, Wang Xiaoming walked out.
Shen Liang was stunned for a moment, then realized who Wang Xiaoming was going to see: the old man from the Reform Association. Wang Xiaoming had made a deal with him, and now he was back to ask Wang Xiaoming for his payment.
After thinking for a moment, Shen Liang followed.
A hoarse voice rang out from the dimly lit room.
“We’ve already brought the fire there. As agreed, you need to give us access to the hurricane.”
"It's a very fair trade."
As he spoke, Wang Xiaoming handed over a document with the words "Permission Granted" written on it, and his name was signed at the bottom.
An old man holding a rotting lump of flesh reached out, took the document, glanced at it, and looked at Wang Xiaoming with a hint of anger in his eyes.
"Professor Wang, are you joking? You think you can just dismiss me with a document? You should know very well what I want."
Wang Xiaoming's expression remained calm as always. He said, "I'm not joking with you. You can break through Elder Qin's blockade and enter at any time, but you just don't dare. I can tell you clearly now that Elder Qin will not interfere in this matter."
The old man gave a chilling smile, his tone laced with threat: "Professor Wang, breaking the blockade will also drain our resources. I think we should be honest with each other in our first collaboration. Your approach could easily lead to deaths."
"Is that so?" Wang Xiaoming stared at the old man expressionlessly, showing no fear of his murderous gaze.
"If you can do it, go ahead and try. I'm standing right here. If you try to do it, I won't last a second."
"You!" The old man pointed at Wang Xiaoming viciously, his eyes filled with even more murderous intent, but he dared not make any further moves.
He had only dealt with Wang Xiaoming once, but the man had left a deep impression on him. After he left Hurricane, Wang Xiaoming approached him, and from that time on, Wang Xiaoming had been scheming against him until now.
He dared not gamble with Wang Xiaoming, fearing that Wang Xiaoming might have some hidden tricks up his sleeve that could kill him in an instant.
The murderous intent in the old man's eyes gradually faded. He crushed the document in his hand, turned around, and disappeared into the darkness.
Shen Liang slowly walked out, looked at Wang Xiaoming and said:
"Is this really okay? None of those people in the Reform Association are easy to deal with."
“A group of remnants of the old era, facing the wrong path, they should have died long ago. He Yin’er’s intelligence shows that they are trying to open up a passage in Taiping Ancient Town. After the raid, I will deal with them.”
That being said, Wang Xiaoming did not push the Reform Society too far, leaving them room to maneuver. The Reform Society can now at least safely break through Elder Qin's blockade and enter the area without them truly breaking off relations.
After speaking, Wang Xiaoming sat down. In the dimly lit room, the pale light from the overhead lamp cast shadows on his face, making it impossible to see his expression.
He didn't say anything more, nor did he do anything; he just waited for the captains to arrive.
Time passed by, and the team leaders were all heading to headquarters in their own ways.
A sallow-faced man walked into the room, glanced at the people sitting there, and seemed to be the last to arrive.
No one spoke in the room; everyone was waiting for the meeting to begin.
He casually found a chair and sat down, his two cloudy eyes staring blankly at the young man opposite him whose forehead had a scarlet eyeball protruding from it.
A sinister glint emanated from his scarlet eyes as he observed an ordinary-looking man to his left.
Strangely, whenever I looked away from the man, his figure seemed to be erased from the world and immediately disappeared from my memory.
Beside him sat an officer whose body was half-burnt, the charred flesh clinging tightly to his uniform, sitting upright at the conference table.
Across from him, a young man dressed in casual clothes, whose figure seemed somewhat unreal, was smiling at a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses diagonally opposite him.
Two lifeless figures could be vaguely seen emerging behind the man with the gold-rimmed glasses, blurry and eerie. The entire conference room was closed and stuffy, filled with a faint stench of decay, as if a corpse had mingled among the crowd.
The deathly silence was oppressive and suffocating, and the flickering lights overhead cast broken shadows on everyone's faces.
Wang Xiaoming stood in front of the conference table, and the large screen behind him slowly lit up.
"This is the intelligence that Zhang Jun sent back before he died."
Wang Xiaoming spoke slowly, his tone as calm as ever.
"It can be concluded that the King's Organization is planning an attack on us called the Ark. But we never like to be passive."
Shen Liang, standing beside him, leaned forward slightly, his gaze sweeping over the team leaders at the conference table, and added, "Recently, a fire involving an S-level paranormal event occurred overseas. They will be requesting our assistance today, and you will be entering the country as a support team..."
"What if they don't contact us from abroad..."
Liu San stiffly opened his mouth, interrupting Shen Liang.
Wang Xiaoming adjusted his glasses.
"That won't happen. I set that fire. I can tell the foreign countries definitively that it was us. The outcome won't change no matter what, and they have no choice."
"What's the solution to that fire?"
"There's no need to resolve this. The support team is just a legitimate way for you to enter the country. If necessary, you can make the fire burn even bigger."
Liu San stared at Wang Xiaoming, a strange smile curving his stiff lips.
“Compared to us, you are more like a dying demon tamer.”
Wang Xiaoming ignored him and continued:
“Some of you are carrying a coffin nail, but I cannot recall any information about him. However, I can tell you that the coffin nail can be of the greatest value to him.”
Upon hearing this, everyone turned slightly towards Wang Xiaoming.
Coffin nails, a supernatural object that can even pin down starving ghosts. The fact that Wang Xiaoming was able to produce a coffin nail for this operation indicates that the danger level of the operation has exceeded the norm, to the point that even the team leaders need to carry a coffin nail with them.
Each and every one of them was capable of single-handedly confronting A-level or even S-level supernatural beings; none of them were mindless brutes. After listening to Wang Xiaoming's words, they all silently began to think.
"This is intelligence from members of the King's Organization."
Shen Liang distributed a thick document to everyone.
"Of course, some of it is outdated or even misinformation deliberately released to us by foreign countries. Correspondingly, foreign countries also have information about everyone sitting here."
Cao Yanhua continued Shen Liang's words immediately:
"Rest assured, everyone, I guarantee that the vast majority of the intelligence held by foreign countries is untrue, but..."
At this point, Cao Yanhua glanced intentionally or unintentionally in Yang Jian's direction.
"Except for a few particularly conspicuous ones."
Cao Yanhua's meaning was quite clear: he was saying that every time Yang Jian made a move, his Ghost Domain would first cover an entire city, making it difficult for anyone to keep it a secret.
Yang Jian didn't care. His pale and cold face showed no emotion, and a scarlet eye on his forehead stared at Cao Yanhua. He looked like a corpse.
He said coldly, "I'm not here to listen to your nonsense. Get to the point."
