Ghostly Tomb

Chapter 1492 Relics

Chapter 1492 Relics

Regarding the burial location of Xuanzang's bones, it can be said that it has gone through many twists and turns, and many people and things have been experienced in the middle, leaving many legendary stories.

We all know that after the death of eminent monks and great virtues, the corpses will be turned into magical relics.

These relics are different, some are as white as jade, and some are colorful.

After the death of Sakyamuni, the remains were divided into tens of thousands. Now there are his relics all over the world, and Buddhist believers are also distributed all over the world, and they are regarded as treasures by believers.

What Tianfa Temple currently stores is the phalanx relic of Sakyamuni Buddha, which is a cylindrical piece of white jade.

The same is true for Xuanzang. After his body was cremated, it was also turned into a relic, which was enshrined by various temples at that time.

The reason why others scramble for his relics, and even later generations rob him by all means, is because of his high status in Buddhism.

Of course, snatching is a shameful act, but it has never stopped for thousands of years.

After Xuanzang's death, Tang Gaozong cremated him according to his last words and buried him on Bailuyuan on the bank of Chanshui River in the eastern suburb of Chang'an City.

But later, because of Xuanzang's high status in the eyes of the people, he was moved to the Great Mercy Temple to build a relic tomb tower as a memorial.

So the real Mausoleum of Xuanzang is in the Great Mercy Temple.

However, in modern times, problems arose. When Japan invaded China, they discovered Xuanzang's skull. After all, it was the relic of a monk who had attained enlightenment. Japan did not want to miss it, so it took half of it.

Although the Japanese were rampant, they did not dare to neglect Xuanzang's relic, enshrining it in the Yaoshi Temple, and respecting it very much.

After the end of World War II, Taiwan strongly demanded the return of Xuanzang's skull. After several twists and turns and struggles, only half of it was finally returned, and it is now enshrined in Taiwanese temples.

In 1956, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru visited China and asked to bring Xuanzang's parietal bone relic back home for worship.

Because Buddhism originally originated from India, and the Buddha Sakyamuni first passed down the finger bone relics to the Central Plains, and then there was the origin of the great prosperity of Buddhism.

Therefore, in line with the purpose of friendly exchanges between the two countries, part of the Tianjin Great Depression Hospital was given to India, and it is still preserved today.

In this way, Xuanzang's relics are preserved in mainland China, Japan, India and Taiwan.

But now, if the DNA of this relic is determined from a biological point of view, it will be a tsunami-like event in the Buddhist world, and no one can accept it.

So now I can only think of a way to confirm it privately.

If you want to go abroad to Japan and India now, it will be impossible in a short time, and foreign relations will be extremely troublesome.

So if I want to confirm this, there is only one path now, and that is to enter another Buddhist holy place, the main temple of the Great Mercy Temple.

Great Mercy Temple, also known as "Da Tang Huguo Great Mercy Temple", the first of the eight great temples in Fanchuan in Tang Dynasty, is located on the bank of Shaoling, about 20 kilometers south of Xi'an.

The Great Compassion Temple is different from the Tianfa Temple. There has long been no incense burning from outside, and the gate is closed to prevent tourists from entering.

But it is still very famous there, and important meetings and celebrations within the Buddhist circle are held there every year.

The country also attaches great importance to this temple, because there is a very famous pagoda here, the Xuanzang Relic Pagoda, which is the resting place of Master Xuanzang.

In the first year of Emperor Gaozong Linde of Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang passed away in Yuhua Palace, and was buried in Bailuyuan in the eastern suburb of Chang'an according to his will.

Bailuyuan has a very high terrain, which can be seen in the Hanyuan Hall of the Daming Palace of the Tang Dynasty.

Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty respected Xuanzang very much. After his death, he held court to mourn. Not only that, it is said that he often cried when he looked at the pagoda in the Hanyuan Hall.

For the sake of the health of the holy body, Empress Wu Zetian of Gaozong ordered to relocate Xuanzang's remains to Shaolingyuan, south of Chang'an, and build a magnificent temple at the same time, named it the Great Mercy Temple, and use royal incense to make offerings for the benefit of the people. commemorate.

This Great Mercy Temple covers a very vast area, and the interior pavilions are quite magnificent and exquisite, showing the majesty of the Tang Dynasty.

But before that, that area was actually not peaceful.

Master Miaokuo wrote in "Records of the Great Compassionate Temple in Zhongnan Mountain":

Before Zhong Nanshan built the temple, it was a vast wilderness.

To the south of Chang'an, about sixty miles away, there is Zhongnan Mountain, which traverses east and west like a giant python, majestic and winding, with a mighty length of more than eight hundred miles.

There are 72 valleys in this mountain, and there are waters in the valleys, and the water is huge, and dragons are often found entrenched, which is really called the so-called snake mountain and crocodile water.

Lush forests grow on the rugged cliffs, green grass covers the mountains and rocks, insects chirp, tigers and leopards roar, sages and gentlemen often live in seclusion here.

That is to say, before the establishment of the Great Mercy Temple, there were often wolves, tigers, leopards and strange people there, and there were dragons hovering in the water, it was a mysterious area.

After the completion of the Great Compassion Temple, Xuanzang's relics were transported to the pagoda to be enshrined, and they immediately shone brightly.

According to legend, the brilliance of the relics at that time was so brilliant that it could illuminate all things in the mountains, making it sacred and magical.

At that time, the mountain was completely silent, and there were low voices of chanting scriptures everywhere, some of which were obviously not human.

Since then, there have been no monsters and monsters in the mountains, and the dragons in the water have disappeared. The dead trees are in spring, and the green cover is blessed with a peaceful scene.

Of course, these are beautiful legends, and no one can verify the truth or falsehood.

The current Great Mercy Temple is already an important temple under the jurisdiction of the state.

On March 1961, 3, the Great Mercy Temple was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In 4, it was selected as an important cultural heritage site in the world.

From then on, it is difficult to go to the sky if you want to enter there.

Facing this tough bone, Chen Zhi first thought of some solutions on his own, but in fact, it was not difficult for him at all.

Some little people who know how to escape from the ground can easily do this.

But to be honest, Chen Zhi still didn't want to adopt this method. For places like Buddhism, he has always been very taboo.

Ye Qing once warned him that there is no need to contact him for matters related to Buddhism, he will neither participate nor have the ability to help him.So this time, Chen Zhi never thought of asking him for help.

Old Somersault found a few friends in the middle, and wanted to let them mix in under the name of foreign Buddhist enthusiasts' interest investigation.

But the reply from the other side was very strong. Any inspection must be allowed by the abbot, otherwise, no matter what the reason, it is absolutely impossible to enter the temple.

In the end, Danxuan had to figure out a way for this matter to let him communicate with the Great Mercy Temple as the abbot of Tianfa Temple.

Then think of a convincing name and enter the temple.

Then the rest of the matter is easy to handle. They can enter the stupa without knowing it, get close to Master Xuanzang's relic, and then achieve the purpose of obtaining DNA.

When Chen Zhi and Danxuan talked about the situation, Danxuan's attitude was unexpected.

他 说:

"We are originally Buddhists, monks do not tell lies.

Since we want to go in, we have to tell the truth..."
