Chapter 20

Mo Li followed Xiao Mengzi and walked through the corridor: "Little Mengzi, father-in-law, thank you for helping Mo Li just now."

Xiao Mengzi smiled: "Where is it, it just seems that the emperor rewarded you with a lot of gold just now." Xiao Mengzi rubbed his chin and his eyes whirled around.

Mo Li suddenly realized: "Oh, I blame Mo Li for being confused." Mo Li took out a package from his arms, took out an ingot of gold from it, and handed the whole package to Xiao Mengzi: "Mr. Eunuch Mengzi suggested some, this little gold will be given to little Eunuch Mengzi to drink during the Chinese New Year."

Xiao Mengzi took the package and weighed it up and down: "Mo Li, I know you are a smart person, yes, if there is anything for me, Xiao Mengzi, to do in the future, Xiao Mengzi will do his best."

Mo Li bowed: "Then thank you little Mengzi father-in-law, and take care of him in the future." The two exchanged a few more words of greeting and left separately.

Walking through the veranda, Mo Li raised his head, and a large flake of snowflakes spiraled down like goose feathers. After being married for so many days, today is rare and clean, no one insults you, no one despises you.

When Mo Li was a child, she hated the Chinese New Year the most, because she found that when the Chinese New Year came, her stomach would be hungrier than before, and she could only hug each other with her mother to keep warm, but today Mo Li did discover the benefits of the Chinese New Year, because everyone was busy celebrating the New Year, and there was no time to eat. Thinking about how to insult her, Mo Li shook his head with a wry smile, patted his cheek, and walked towards the most remote part of the palace.

The snow fell more and more quickly, almost blocking Mo Li's sight, and the neighing sound of a horse came from a distance. Mo Li looked ahead, and saw a dark shadow swaying back and forth in the stable.

"Who is that? What is the stable doing this New Year's Eve?" Mo Li squatted down and grabbed a snowball, and threw it viciously at the black shadow's head.

"Ouch." The man lowered his head and cursed, "Who is it?"

Mo Li quickly picked up the small wooden stick next to the fence and hit the shadow: "Who are you?"

"Oh, Mo Li, it's me, Daniel." Daniel shouted while holding his head.

"Da Niu, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" Mo Li was still vigilantly holding the small wooden stick, she was wary of anyone in the palace.

Daniu stood up, rubbing the eye area that Mo Li hit with the snow ball just now: "Mo Li, you hit really well."

Mo Li: "Da Niu, what do you want from me?"

Only now did Mo Li see Daniel clearly, his eyebrows and eyelashes were covered with a layer of frost, he must have been outside for quite a while.

Seeing Mo Li staring at him with wide-eyed eyes, Daniel said a little aggrieved, "Where have you been these few days? I thought you wouldn't come back."

Mo Li: "Oh, I have been preparing imperial meals for the emperor in the kitchen these few days, so I haven't come back."

Da Niu seemed relieved: "That's good, I thought you wouldn't come, and you also despise me, Da Niu, just like them."

Daniel took out an oil bag from his arms: "Mo Li, this is for you."

Mo Li opened the oil pack, a chicken leg and three meat buns: "Daniu, this is?"

Daniel scratched his head in embarrassment: "Oh, the prince eats vegetarian food, so you can't see any meat in this palace. I am greedy and I sometimes sneak out to buy some meat. This year is New Year's Eve and I miss you. So I bought these for you."

Mo Li raised his head, as if there was a bone choked in his throat: "Daniu, thank you, I thought no one in this palace would treat me, Mo Li, as a human being."
