The room is clean, the walls are clean;

The cases are clean, the pen and inkstone are upright.

Translation
The study room should be tidy and quiet, the walls should be clean, the desk should be tidy, and stationery such as pen, ink, paper and inkstone should be placed neatly. This is what a scholar should do.

In the Northern Dynasties, there was a man named Feng Gui who was knowledgeable and well versed in various scriptures and historical classics.He has a frank and straightforward personality and noble morals, and his study and bedroom are very neat and tidy.
