This poem is about a long time ago, there was a man and a woman. They often went to the mountains to gather herbs together. Because they often met, the man thought the woman was very gentle, and the woman thought the man was very considerate.They both like each other.

If they haven't seen each other for a day, it will feel like three months have passed: if they haven't seen each other for one day, it's like three autumns apart; if they haven't seen each other for one day, it's like three years apart other side.

So later people used the four words "three autumns a day" to express that they miss each other very much!
