All the princes proposed to send troops to attack Yingbu.

Duke Sheng of Ruyin asked their retainer Xue Gong privately: "The emperor divided the land and made him king, gave him a noble title to make him honorable, and faced south and called him the Lord of Wancheng. Why did he want to rebel?"

But Xue Gong said: "He should rebel! The emperor killed Peng Yue the year before last, and Han Xin last year. Ying Bu and these two have the same merit. He thinks that disaster will affect him, so he wants to rebel." Sheng Gong said to Gao Zu: "My guest is Yin Xuegong, the magistrate of Chu State. He is very strategic. You can ask him if you have anything." So Gaozu summoned Xuegong to inquire about countermeasures.

Xue Gong analyzed for Gao Zu: "It is not surprising that Yingbu rebelled. There are three strategies for Yingbu. If you use the best strategy, Shandong will not belong to the Han Dynasty; if you use the middle strategy, the outcome is unpredictable; if you use the worst strategy, Your Majesty can rest in peace lie down."

Gaozu asked: "What is the best policy?" Xue Gong said: "Take Wu in the east, Chu in the west, Qilu in the north, pass on Yan and Zhao, and then stick to it. The land of Shandong is not owned by the Han."

Gaozu asked again: "What is the middle policy?" Xue Gong said: "Take Wu from the east, Chu from the west, and Wei from Han. Take the millet from Ao Cang and fill it with the danger of Chenggao. The outcome is unpredictable."

Gaozu asked again: "What is the next policy?" Xue Gong replied: "Take Jing in the west, take Cai in the north, take Yue as the rear, and guard Changsha by yourself, then your majesty can sleep in peace, and the Han Dynasty will be fine."

Gaozu said: "What strategy do you think Yingbu will use?" Xue Gong analyzed: "In the past, Yingbu was a servant of Lishan, but now he is the king of Wancheng. He only wants to protect himself and does not consider the people of the world. Will use the wrong strategy."

Gaozu said: "Good!" So he made Xue Gong a thousand households and ordered him to lead the army to attack Yingbu.Sure enough, as Xue Gong expected, Ying Bu used a bad strategy and was finally killed in the chaos of war.

Obviously, Xue Gong had spotted Ying Bu, so he predicted very well. Ying Bu was indeed short-sighted, had no ambitions, and had no outstanding advisers under his command, so he was on the verge of extinction.
