Chapter 552

Chapter 551

The old abbot smiled lightly when he heard the words, and then said: "Master Xuanzang, I don't know the answer you are looking for, but it can be achieved overnight?"

"What you want is to change the world into the world you want in one thought, or to become the world described in the Buddhist scriptures?"

Hearing what the old monk said, Xuanzang clasped his hands together and said softly, "No."

"Xuanzang became a monk since he was a child, and he has memorized these thousands of scriptures by heart."

"But the more you study the Dharma, the more you find that there are huge loopholes in the Dharma."

"The Buddha said to save all living beings, but he didn't say how to save all living beings."

"Buddha said to persuade people to be good, but he didn't say what to do if people are not good."

"The Buddha said to save others and save oneself, but he didn't say how to do it."

"Buddha said that the world of ultimate bliss, practice in this life is only for the next life, but he didn't say, this life is already like this, what will happen in the next life."

"Xuanzang traveled all over the world, trying to find the answer."

"But the more people you see, the more things you see, the deeper your doubts."

"This world is the world of humans, and the things that Buddha wants to solve are in the world of humans."

"However, the Buddha did not say how to solve the problems in the world, and only left the spiritual Buddhist palace to study."

"Old abbot, if you have the answer, can you tell the poor monk?"

Xuanzang said, looking at Hongzhi in front of him, his eyes were full of hope.

If there is any eminent monk in this world who has profound Buddhist teachings, it may only be presided over by Hongyuan Temple and Xiaofoshan Temple.

And Hongyuan Temple is famous for its Buddhist principles. As the largest temple in Chang'an, the reputation of Hongyuan Temple has spread far and wide.

Presumably, the old monk sitting in front of Xuanzang is naturally a person who is proficient in Buddhism.

Facing Xuanzang, the old monk smiled slightly and took a sip of the tea in his cup.

Afterwards, the old monk looked out of the window and said softly, "Master Xuanzang, look at the green leaves outside the window, this grand temple, how about it?"

Xuanzang was taken aback when he heard the words, and said: "I just said that the Hongyuan Temple has amazed the poor monk."

"Hehe...The old monk wants to ask Master Xuanzang, what did Hongyuan Temple look like a hundred years ago?"

Xuanzang was silent when he heard the words, how did he know what this place looked like a hundred years ago.

"Why? Don't you know?" The old monk smiled slightly, and then asked again: "What was it like a thousand years ago?"

"What about ten thousand years ago?"

Xuanzang frowned and looked at Hongzhi in front of him, as if he knew what he was going to say, but he didn't know the essence.

"There are thousands of changes in the world. If you want to change others, you must first overcome yourself."

"Master Xuanzang, you are now in your own predicament. If you don't get out by yourself, no matter how many people you see and how many things you see, it will be useless."

"The city was not built in a day, and this Hongyuan Temple was not built overnight."

"My Buddha is merciful and has spread the Dharma for hundreds of years."

"But hundreds of years ago, on my eastern land, was there the voice of Buddhism?"

"There was nothing before and there was after, what is this?"

After finishing speaking, Hongzhi looked at Xuanzang with a smile on his face.

Xuanzang frowned slightly, then looked at Hongzhi, and said, "The poor monk understands the meaning of the abbot, but it can't solve the confusion in the poor monk's heart."

"What the poor monk said is the deficiency in the Buddhist scriptures, the deficiency of the Dharma, and the deficiency of the entire Buddhist family in my eastern land."

"During his travels, the poor monk can always feel that this shortcoming is slowly growing and eroding away."

"If things go on like this for a long time, my Buddhism in the East will definitely go to extremes and become a tool for the world to seek profit."

"As for my Buddha's intention, when the time comes, who else will care?"

"Hehe, Amitabha." The old monk heard Xuanzang's words, smiled lightly, and said, "Master Xuanzang, I admire your understanding of Buddhist principles."

"But you are still paranoid about life and my Buddha."

After finishing speaking, the old monk took a sip of tea lightly, and then said lightly: "The Buddha said, a grain of sand is a world, and a leaf is a bodhi."

"The law follows the heart, and the body follows the heart."

"Master Xuanzang, with resentment towards yourself in your heart, you feel that the world is unfair."

"You want to use Buddhism to understand and answer all these things, but in fact, these are just your own wishes, not my Buddha's wishes."

After finishing speaking, the old monk looked at Xuanzang and said, "Master Xuanzang, maybe the Buddhist scriptures passed down by my Buddha have loopholes and are not perfect, but this is not the reason why Buddhism cannot save the world."

"If you want to save others, I, Buddha, must first save yourself."

"I am in the vortex right now. If you want to solve this vortex, you must first get out of this vortex."

Xuanzang frowned even more when he heard the words. He looked at Hongzhi, wanting to ask something, but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out.

This was the first time this happened in his long cultivation career.

It was the first time that someone told him the principles of Buddhism face to face, and he was speechless.

The old monk was right, absolutely right.

If you want to save others, if you want to promote Buddhism, if you want to save all living beings, you must first save yourself.

To save others, first to save yourself, if you are in the whirlpool, how can you save others?
In Xuanzang's eyes, a hint of enlightenment gradually appeared, and this enlightenment gradually deepened, and then turned into a bright light.

Xuanzang stood up, bowed to the old monk, clasped his hands together, and said, "Amitabha, Xuanzang, thank you abbot for clarifying the confusion."

"Hahaha." The old monk laughed, waved his hands, and said, "It's not that the old monk explained to you, but Master Xuanzang thought too much, and the old monk just unbuttoned you."

"With Master Xuanzang's intelligence, even if I don't talk too much like the old monk, one day you will understand."

"As for what you said, the Dharma is incomplete and there are loopholes, the old monk doesn't know how to answer."

"Maybe in the dark, there is God's will. The Western Lingshan is a hundred and eight thousand miles away from my eastern land, and the Buddhadharma that has been spread is incomplete, and there are some."

Xuanzang let out a sigh of relief when he heard the words.

The stale air that had been stuck in his chest for many days finally came out, which made his mind clear for a while, and his whole body and mind were completely relaxed.

"Hahaha, Master Xuanzang, let me just say it. Master Hongzhi must have a way to answer your question!" Zhenyang Hou laughed loudly.

Just now when Cai Hongzhi and Xuanzang were talking, Zhenyang Hou listened quietly from the sidelines, for fear that he would disturb the mood of the two by interjecting a word.

Zhenyanghou only understood a small part of what the two said just now. This may be a discussion between eminent monks. Although they are speaking in vernacular, those who don't understand just don't understand.

Afterwards, Xuanzang sat down and said softly to the old monk, "Abbot, Xuanzang wants to stay in Hongyuan Temple, is the abbot willing to take him in?"

Hearing this, the old monk squinted his eyes and said, "That's very good. Master Xuanzang is here. Old monk and I can rest."
