The Master said: "The Dao is not far away from people, and people who follow the Dao are far away from others, so they cannot be Dao.

"The "Poetry" says ②: 'Falling ③ cutting, it is not far away ④.' Hold the stalk to cut it, look at it ⑤, and still think it is far away. Therefore, a gentleman governs people by man, and changes and stops ⑥.

"Loyalty and forgiveness are not far from the Way⑦, do it to yourself but don't want it to it⑧, and don't do it to others.

"The Way of a Gentleman Four ⑨, Qiu ⑩ can't be one. What you want B11 is for a son, to serve your father, but you can't; I can't do it; what I want is a friend, give it first, and I can't do it. Yongde B12 deeds, mediocrity B12 conscientiousness, if there is something lacking, dare not not encourage, have more than dare not do. Words follow deeds, deeds follow words , Gentleman Hu Buzhen Ye Zaoer B13!"

First, I require that children must be filial to their parents, but I cannot do this myself. Second, I require A courtier must be loyal to the king, but I cannot be loyal to the king myself. Third, I ask a younger brother to respect his elder brother, but I cannot do this myself. Fourth, a friend must say Credit, but I often fail to do so first. The practice of the doctrine of the mean, the memorization of the maxim of the mean, is not perfect, and I dare not work hard.
