Chapter 409: Lucked out

Lu Chen doesn't mind the expecting gazes as he begins to speak, 

"I've learned many things as I studied here. However, there is one thing I've gained from all of this. Everybody has one life. 

Everybody has wants and desires they want to accomplish. However, they have one life to do everything they want. And that life is something we shouldn't take for granted. 

Even if you face failure, it doesn't mean it is over. Keep striving and improving."

Lu Chen's voice as he says all these words. 

"Thank you."

"..." There was only silence after he finished saying his piece. 

Did I do it too strongly? Lu Chen tilts his head, wondering what he said was a bit too much. But he didn't need to. The next second, loud cheering came from the stands!

"Well said, boy!"

"Such a young child, but he has such worldly views."

"As expected of somebody from the Lu family."

"That's my grandson!"

Hearing all those cheers, Lu Chen bows slightly and goes to his seat.

"That was awesome, brother Chen." "It was a beautiful speech."

Zhang Jian and Feng Meifeng praise Lu Chen on each side. Zhang Jian didn't expect Lu Chen to make something like this up on the spot. While Feng Meifeng blushed at how commanding and powerful he was. 

Each one of his words hit home for her, making her feel a special way. 

"It wasn't that awesome. I just made it up on the spot." Lu Chen makes a wry smile. The speech wasn't for the students. More so, it was for himself. 

You only have one chance in life?

Bullshit!

This is his second chance. Lu Chen knew he lucked out. 

That's why he understands. 

He has to make everything he wishes come true. 

After his speech, the graduation finished without any problems. Lu Chen's families were bombarded with people praising Lu Chen and their family. 

The smug look on their face was just indescribable. If Lu Chen was there, he would have shaked his head. However, he wasn't there. Lu Chen went somewhere else. 

Somewhere to meet somebody.

"So, what do you want?" Face to face with Lu Chen right now is Liu Fei Fei. 

"Relax, I'm not going to do anything strange to you." The expression on Liu Fei Fei was weird and more cautious than anything. She looks like a small animal being stared at by a big one. 

"You ask Luo Ai to call me here. What do you want?" Never has she heard Luo Ai's voice be so serious. 

"I'll be breaking our engagement. Be there with your family tomorrow. We'll end it there." Lu Chen's words were frank, not sugarcoating any of his words.

"..."

"..." Lu Chen and Liu Fei Fei just stare at each other. Why aren't you saying anything? Because of her, the scene just became awkward. But it shouldn't matter to him anymore. 

"Be there tomorrow." Lu Chen doesn't say anything else. He was about to walk away, but then, 

"Wait!"

Lu Chen turns around and gives her a dirty look, "What do you want?"

"Why?" The expression on Liu Fei Fei's face was blank. Like something has been eating at her.

Huh? What do you mean why? Don't you know the reason? Isn't this something you wanted? Don't ask a question and accept it. 

That's what went through Lu Chen's mind. 

"Because I want to? You wanted this engagement to end as well."

"I'm not talking about that. Why did you save me when I fell down the hill?"

"!" Lu Chen's eyes went wide. How does she know? But then his expression turns normal, "I don't know what you are talking about. Just be there tomorrow."

He doesn't say anything else and walks away.
