That's when I smelled it, the tangy pungent smell of brimstone. The cavern became hot and muggy, the walls began to sweat. My eyes searched the dark cavern frantically looking for proof of what I already knew was there. In the dark I heard the sound of scraping against the rocks, sparks flew as whatever was in here made it's way around.

"E..Ellie? What's in here with us?"

"From the sounds of it it's something big... did you bring a weapon? "

"Weapon? Whatever for? I'm a princess not a knight! "

"What for?! This exact scenario! How can you just casually wander off with no protection??"

"We would be safely in the castle had you not decided to leave in the middle of your courting ceremony!"

"If it's so important then you marry one of them."

This girl is more trouble than shes worth, I wonder if there'll ever be a time my life isn't in danger because of her. I never wanted adventure and excitement, I would've been content with a nice husband and having my own kids. Now that I think of it I have no doubt the king knew of all the dangers but instead of sending knights he sent a lowly maid with no skills.

"Ok, we'll be discussing this thoroughly but for now let's save our skins...slowly let's back up to the entrance of the cavern and get back up to of the cliffs." I whispered harshly.

"Sounds good."

We started inching our way back to the entrance making as little noise as possible. Then a blast of fire emerged from the dark, we both hit the floor to avoid being burnt alive. Behind us a wall of fire now covered our only escape.

"Well so much for that." The princess said dusting herself off.

A deep laughter filled the cavern, echoing off the walls causing bits of rubble to fall from the ceiling. We shielded our eyes, trembling in fear, this would be how we died. I held onto Flora to comfort both her and myself, Then a booming voice echoed throughout the cavern.

" Hello Elanore, we meet again."
