A Race to Melt Hearts

I adjourned the meeting and let Vice President Jun take care of the important matters that need immediate attention. At the same time assistant Mr. Wang showed up and to call my attention.

If Mr. Jun's currently 52 years old, then Mr. Wang would be 10 years below him. The two of them seemed distant with each other, not that I'm interested in knowing why, but if this includes something about my brother then I would gladly investigate.

Mr. Wang looks pale as he face me. His hands were trembling too. Then a negative gut feeling erupted from my chest, has something bad happened to my big brother?

"Mr. Wang?..." His eyes became red and teary. His body starts to shake, as he bow his head down, exactly not making an eye contact with me.

"Young mistress, young master... He... Young master was..." Before he could continue, I run back to the emergency room.

I saw the door flush open, and a female doctor went out. It's like she is looking for someone. As I near, she undoubtedly approach me.

"Greetings young miss, perhaps, I might want to ask if you are related to the patient inside?"

"Yes doc, how... How's my brother's condition?" I am hopeful, hoping that he's fine by now.

But the doctor's sour face made me doubt everything that I'm thinking of. She slowly shake her head as she stare straight back at me.

"Young miss, I'm sorry to say but your brother's body is too weak to respond with the higher dosage of medicine that's needed to stop the formation of hemorrhage, but due to hemophilia in his system we cannot enclose his internal wounds."

"Hemophilia? But that's only a genetic inherited trait, is there no other way to cure him?"

The doctor sighed in defeat. She shook her head again.

"I'm afraid not, even if there was, we can no longer revive him."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm sorry to say this but your brother's gone, three minutes before I left the room the head doctor already announced the time of his death. Condolences, I'm sorry for your loss"

"C-can I see him now?"

The doctor hesitated, but there's nothing she could do.

I walk towards his room, tears were nowhere near my eyes, it's so hard to shed a tear.

My brother laid peacefully on the bed. I choose to sit at his side and hold his hand.

"Big brother... You can't do this to me... Why?... Why did you leave me like this? Why now? Why?... When I needed you the most"
