A Race to Melt Hearts

He stared right back at me with a sly smile on his face. My eyes blink in amusement, since when has this stoic man turned warm and even let himself show a portion of affection towards me?

"I know you've been awake for a long time and might have heard every single word I've uttered with Mr. Wang earlier." Right now his smile is broader than what he showed earlier. I don't even have a clue as to what he's thinking right now.

"Then why haven't you awakened me?" I asked curiously.

"I was giving you a choice of your own; I want you to learn how to make the right choices fitted for every situation. Things like this will occur sooner or later. I want you to learn the art of confidence, you will need to depend on yourself starting onward."

He abruptly stood for the sake of redeeming a tray with a bowl of porridge and a lemon juice, I assume. He place it on the drawer beside me. And he help me up, as gentle as possible. It's like he's holding a person made of glass that might break in an instant without proper care.

"Are you willing to answer my questions? I have tons of them." I stared at him, but he just smiled.

"I am more than willing to spare you every detail that was hidden from you for a very long time. But I have a condition."

"What is it?" my eyebrows are tightly knitted, what could he possibly want from someone who possesses nothing at all?

"Finish this porridge before the soup gets cold and tasteless." He handed the tray to me, it's not that difficult since I have a little more strength than what I had when I woke up. Plus I'm way too hungry to comment side remarks.

"I think this isn't enough for my large appetite" then I start to eat the things that he had prepared, he shake his head in defeat. Then he chuckle.

"The kitchen is wide, we are rich, and I won't let my only sister hunger herself. Don't worry you have unlimited food downstairs." He give me a pat on the head, like petting a little kid.
