. Chapter 265: Back to Qingmu

Xiaoyan was shocked, and then he found that what Wu Dahu said was nothing wrong at all.

If he was the only one who got involved in this matter, probably he was able to manipulate and alter the confession. However, currently Wu Dahu, Song Qinghan and even Little Shitou all engaged in this affair, and none of them was inconspicuous, which meant that they would be easily found even without a stool pigeon.

By thinking of this, he sank into a long while of silence, and then replied respectfully, “Yes, Lord!”

But just before he decided to speed up again, he couldn’t help but ask, “But, Lord Wu, should we help Mistress and Young Master settle down in somewhere first?”

If there was an accident doomed to happen, at least such a tactic would be the best way to keep Song Qinghan and Little Shitou safe; and if everything was going smoothly and they wouldn’t be accused of crime, it was reasonable that those people would not bother to trouble Song Qinghan and Little Shitou. One was still a toddler while the other was pregnant after all.

Wu Dahu shook his head and answered in a low voice, “Suppose that you were Mork, what would you do?”

Xiaoyan took a sudden pause, seemingly he didn’t understand why Wu Dahu would inquire him about Mork’s mental activity, yet he still tried his best to probe the answer, and then he answered hesitantly, “Will… Will he send his soldiers to follow us?”

Noticing that it was quite a hard question for Xiaoyan, Wu Dahu gave it up arousing his curiosity and responded directly, “Sending the soldiers to capture us should be his stupid move. Well, I mean, if he is a wise man he will probably spread some rumors which are bad for us. In that case he is able to get us evaporated in this world without reaching out to us.”

Xiaoyan showed a surprised expression as if he was just enlightened by Wu Dahu’s statement, and then he nodded, saying, “So does it mean that nothing but danger is awaiting us in this trip back to our own country? And even if Mistress and Young Master hide themselves up somewhere, they will eventually be found no matter what?”

“Yes,” Wu Dahu sounded, and then carried Song Qinghan with both his hands and got off the horse, looked into the distance firmly, “But since we’ve done nothing threatening to the safety of the country, we shouldn’t cover things up. Instead, someone else needs to.”

Some other deeper meaning seemed to be hidden within his statement, but either Song Qinghan and Xiaoyan failed to figure it out. And since Wu Dahu didn’t want to further explain about it, Xiaoyan had to suppress his curiosity in his mind and keep moving.

Noon approached as the sun finally rose high in the sky, and they finally arrived at the Qingmu Army Camp.

The guards on duty outside might not recognize Xiaoyan, but they were quite familiar with the appearance of Wu Dahu. As soon as the guards caught the sight of them, they shouted, “The traitor is coming back! The traitor is coming back!”

Song Qinghan was utterly shocked. It was totally beyond his expectation that the news would spread so fast pervading everywhere in the army camp, otherwise how was it possible that even the guarding soldiers knew their matters?

Wu Dahu was rather calm there, he dismounted from the horse in a leisurely manner. And after Song Qinghan got off from the horse as well, he asked Xiaoyan to hand Little Shitou over to Song QInghan, and then turned to Song Qinghan again, saying, “I’ve told you previously, since you are my husband, you shouldn’t leave me for even a second. Do you remember that?”

Noticing that Wu Dahu was quite serious on face, Song Qinghan asked dubiously, “So when you go to report I have to follow too? I’m afraid that the Commander General will kick me out.”

Wu Dahu looked into Song Qinghan’s eyes firmly, and then answered sincerely, “You are my husband, and I trust you only.”

Upon hearing that, Song Qinghan was shocked, while his mind was messed with mud.

His view of Wu Dahu was measured by Wu Dahu’s amnesia, but Wu Dahu’s view of him, including everything around him, was completely strange.

Not only that, he had to bear the pressure of being the culprit of the whole matter in such a situation while their lives were threatened. No one would know how panicked he was right at this moment.

But he never showed any uneasiness and hesitation along the way, just like the Wu Dahu before, calm and reliable.

Song Qinghan felt a little guilty and felt that he didn’t do his best as Wu Dahu’s husband. Not only did he not play the role of comforting Wu Dahu, he also felt make trouble out of nothing.

Wu Dahu seemed to have seen through Song Qinghan’s thoughts and suddenly reached out to hold his hand. He said slowly, “Your existence is enough to make me feel at ease.”

In an instant, Song Qinghan could clearly feel that his heart skip a beat and he almost cried out of that.

Even though such a statement was more like the one only existed in romantic play, Song Qinghan knew that it was the true words expressed by Wu Dahu.

How lucky was he, only possessing the identity of Wu Dahu’s husband, to make Wu Dahu trek and conquer every troubles in the face of numerous unknown situations only to stay with him?

Wu Dahu held Song Qinghan hand and nodded at Xiaoyan, and then he followed the man who motioned them to come in.

The man who led the way wasn’t willing to say a word at all. He put his hands on the sword on his waist, while occasionally turning his head back to glance Wu Dahu vigilantly as if they were a group of criminals bearing mortal sin.

Song Qinghan regained his mental peace after the thoughts in his mind finally faded away, he lowered his head to look at Little Shitou who was sleeping sweetly, while encouraging himself inside that he had to be strong.

Well, the journey back to the Qingmu Army camp was a necessary move because it was impossible for them to live as traitors for the rest of their lives.

Never wrong was the phrase ‘Every inch of the land existing in this vast world belongs to the ruler’, so even if they chose to hide themselves in the remotest village and obtained the peace there, they would never be able to hide for eternity.

Yet, to their surprise, they were not led to the tent where the Commander General stayed.

Song Qinghan looked at the tent in front of him and tried to recall which area it belonged to. But when he finally figured it out, he could feel his heart skip another beat.

Sure enough, after they entered the tent, they found that the person sitting in the center was one of the people whom Wu Dahu had reported toying with the captives.

The man sitting in the center delivered a sly smile when he noticed the presences of Wu Dahu and Song Qinghan, and then he raised his eyebrows, saying, “What now? I heard that you lost your memories? So do you still remember who I am?”

Song Qinghan intended to remind Wu Dahu, but Wu Dahu took the initiative to speak.

“If I remember who you are, it then will never be a memory loss to me.”

Stuffy environment as well as Wu Dahu’s sudden retort made the man embarrassed, while he failed to gushed out what he had prepared to say before they reached.

Song Qinghan lowered his head and chuckled secretly. It turned out that Wu Dahu in amnesia seemed to have gained a prowess of arguing with people. Even though it was quite unpleasant for him to have a quarrel between them, he felt quite excited when he saw his husband was retorting others in a teasing way.

The man sitting there did not miss Song Qinghan’s mocking smile in sight, he then squinted his eyes, and suddenly roared in an attempt to trouble them, “Someone here! Arrest traitor Wu Dahu and Song Qinghan!”

Wu Dahu reached out to protect Song Qinghan with his hands and responded with a faint expression, “I don’t think that you have the power to announce the decision, do you? Or are you trying to show your superior position, superseding the one of the Commander General?”

As soon as Wu Dahu accused the man of such a big crime in his statement, those soldiers who flocked into the tent suddenly became rather hesitant. They exchanged their glances at each other, and ultimately all fixed their gaze at the head who was still sitting there, seemingly waiting for the next order he might announce.

The man sneered, rose from his seat abruptly, and then walked to Wu Dahu menacingly.

“It’s been a long time, right? And you’ve become so talkative with a silver tongue now? Well, since you still have some complaints yourself and do not accept the deal, then I will send you to the Commander General by myself, I really would love to see how many other tricks you are going to play!”

He stepped forward and pressed Wu Dahu’s hands, bent them to his back. With an expression of ‘righteousness’, he resolutely walked out of the tent.

Song Qinghan was treated a little better than Wu Dahu, probably because the people around him had seen Little Stone’s sleeping face and didn’t even say anything, just waved their hands motioning Song Qinghan to follow up.

The group, however in extreme disharmony, was marching towards the Commander General’s tent. If Song Qinghan wasn’t guessing it wrong, the man deliberately misled the route with another round, seemingly he was trying to bring more disgrace to Wu Dahu.

However, Wu Dahu currently had no memory on this place at all, and even if he guessed that the people around him were pointing and judging at him, he was just like a bystander inside, without any feelings or thoughts.
