Alpha And Omega

It was drizzling rain pouring down on the city. Eden had just arrived at her school. Luckily she came first before the rain got her clothes wet.

Eden was busy wiping the remaining rainwater that wet her hands and faces with a tissue without realizing that a leg was deliberately stretched out to tackle her leg.

BUMP!

Eden fell to the floor. Her skirt lifted slightly.

"Ha ha ha!" Her three classmates laughed. They were Nina, Lina, and Bianca, girls who feel superior in class and always bully weak girls like Eden.

"Did you take the picture?" asked Bianca, the gang leader.

"Sure, look, she's wearing black tights like a granny." Nina showed her cellphone screen to Bianca and Lina. They then laughed at Eden's pose.

Eden clenched her fists in anger. She got up slowly and adjusted her clothes. Luckily, her habit of cycling meant she had to wear shorts that made her pantie invisible.

Eden had been used to being bullied since childhood because of the different colors of her eyes. Many of her classmates thought it was a strange thing: Blue and Green, an unusual blend of two eye colors.

"Hey, Poor!! Do our homework. Otherwise, we will share this photo with the entire school." Threaten them. Eden was indeed an intelligent child. She was very accomplished. If not, how could a poor girl like her go to an elite school?!

"Okay," Eden replied, perfunctory. She was lazy to serve the three because it would never end. So it's better according to them later they would get bored by themselves.

Today's lesson begins with history. Mr. Timothy said that next week the history lesson would move to the museum. They would hold a study tour and write an essay on the historical topics they were interested in.

"We gather at the museum at eight in the morning. Do not be late!" Mr. Timothy closed the textbook at the end of his class.

At school break.

The rain was falling harder. Eden saw it from the second-floor window. Incidentally, Eden's bench was right next to the window. Break time was almost over, but Eden didn't move from her seat at all. There was no lunch box to eat or money to eat in the canteen. So she chose to enjoy the rain.

"Huft… it's raining. It sucks. I can't work when it's raining." Eden complained, usually she would be the delivery courier after school, but no one would want to send goods when it rained heavily.

Eden was looking for other ways to make money today. What could she do? Become a waitress or cashier? But none of her friends gave permission and asked Eden to replace them.

*Ting*

Eden's cell phone rang.

The text was from Arley. Her neighbor friend.

[Arley: Hey, E, today I'm going to sell isotonic drinks at the inter-high school basketball game. One of my friends has sprained her leg. Do you want to replace her?]

"Being Seles promotion girl? It doesn't look bad." Eden quickly replied to Arley's text.

[Eden: Sure, Arley. What's the time? Where?]

[Arley: Four o'clock in the afternoon, on your school's indoor court, E!]

"Oh, shit!!!" Eden cursed. Many children would recognize her there. But, did Eden have a choice?!! sHe didn't even have a penny today because Vica (her Mom) and Marvell (her brother) took all the money. Not to mention, the money she should have used to pay for a study tour to the museum was also taken. Her Mom loved to drink, and her brother loved to gamble. What a truly wonderful family combination.

[Arley: How? I have to report to the manager?]

[Eden: Okay. Do I have a choice?] Eden replied to Arley's message with a wry smile.

[Arley : Okay, E, see you.]

[Eden: Thanks, Ey.]
