American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#116 - Peter catches Luke's attention

Monetary aid?

Peter's eyes lit up instantly, and his stiff body seemed to be injected with a warm current of vitality. His heart was pounding in his chest. If Gwen wasn't by his side, he might have asked how much the monetary aid was. There was no way around it. Ever since Uncle Ben left, the family's financial situation had plummeted. Peter had seen Aunt May worrying about money more than once. After all, going to college was a huge expense.

As for his parents' information, that made Peter even more excited.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. knows about my parents?" Peter asked to confirm.

"If you knew that Richard and Mary Parker worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. for a while, you wouldn't ask that," Agent Hill said with a smile, shaking Peter's outstretched hand.

...

"You Midgardians are just troublesome. Instead of wasting time in meetings discussing plans, you should just start the war and eliminate the enemy sooner," Thor said impatiently, pacing back and forth while holding his hammer. "I am a battle-hardened warrior, and I have experienced no less than eight thousand, if not ten thousand, battles of all sizes. Those beasts, trolls, frost giants, and the like, each of them is incredibly powerful and much more dangerous than the ninjas you speak of.

"Yet I always manage to lead my soldiers to victory. If you ask me, there's no point in having so many plans in war. Plans can't keep up with changes. In the end, it all comes down to who can fight better."

Thor's voice grew louder and louder. Finally, he concluded, "Why don't you let me go alone? You give me the address and information, and I'll help you deal with those ninjas or whatever."

"I can't make that decision," Phil said with a smile, listening to Thor ramble on for more than an hour. This scene happened at least once every day for the past two days.

"That won't do. I need to talk to your superior again," Thor had finally grown up. Before he was exiled, he wouldn't have cared about plans or anything. He would have just grabbed his hammer and gone around the city looking for ninjas to fight.

Phil helplessly followed behind Thor.

"What are you all doing here? Are you finally going to war?" Thor arrived on the scene and saw rows of elite agents with a murderous aura. Even though he was thick-skinned, he keenly smelled a familiar scent from the atmosphere and air. It was the mobilization before a big battle.

"You've come at the right time, Thor. We are about to launch a full-scale counterattack. These days, we have used various means to find all the Hand's strongholds in this city. Hebron's equipment assistance has also arrived today. They can give us the power to fight those ninjas. The quantity is not large, but it is the maximum number that can be manufactured these days. We don't have much time for you to familiarize yourself with these equipment, so I have invited Snoke from Hebron to help you master them as quickly as possible and use them."

Nick saw Thor, nodded to him, and opened the metal boxes in front of him, revealing neatly arranged metal bracers, totaling about six hundred.

"Do I get one?" Peter, who had just received a personally signed autograph from Steve, raised his hand high. His girlfriend was working at Hebron, so he had heard a lot of praise about Hebron's technology from her. Although he preferred Stark's technological style, that didn't stop him from wanting to experience Hebron's technology firsthand.

"Of course," Nick frowned at Peter, but under the other party's expectant gaze, he still nodded. "I don't know how much amplification it will give you, but you can try it. If you don't think it's a big boost, I suggest you give the spot to another agent."

Peter immediately walked out of the crowd, took a metal bracer from the box, and quickly learned how to wear and use it under Snoke's hands-on guidance. In fact, the usage of these equipment was indeed brainlessly simple.

"No!"

Peter only felt a force surge from his body. Before he could experience it properly, it entangled and fought against another force within his body. Or rather, they were fighting inside him. His expression changed, and his spider-sense frantically warned him. Under the stunned gazes of Nick and the others, the metal bracer unlocked and popped open on Peter's wrist, falling apart.

At the same time, with the disintegration of the metal bracer, the unfamiliar force that surged into his body through his wrist, which had been evenly matched the second before, was crushed by the native force in Peter's body. In just a few seconds, Peter's body, which was almost a battlefield for the two forces, returned to normal from the throbbing pain.

Dizzy, Peter seemed to hear an angry roar.

"What happened?" Nick stared blankly at the bracer that had fallen from Peter's wrist, somewhat at a loss. This had never happened in previous tests. Could it be a flawed one that slipped through the cracks? Nick thought for a while, pointed out an agent, and had him re-wear the bracer that Peter had worn.

"Sir, I don't feel anything. This is just an ordinary metal bracer," the agent who put on the bracer felt it for a while according to his superior's instructions, opened his eyes, and shook his head.

"Try the next bracer," Nick signaled the agent to change equipment.

"A force surged into my body. I feel that my speed, strength, reaction, and all aspects of my physical fitness have been amplified to a terrifying level. My combat power has at least doubled," the agent who put on the new bracer gave Nick the answer he wanted to hear this time.

"It must be broken, right? It's not my fault! It has nothing to do with me!" Peter took two steps back, his face flustered. He knew from his girlfriend that Hebron's technology was excellent, and at the same time, he also knew that this excellence required an expensive price to match. He was a poor ghost now. If they asked him to compensate for the loss, he couldn't afford the equipment even if he sold everything he owned, right?

Peter's brain was frantically brainstorming. He already regretted experiencing that bracer out of curiosity.

However, Nick did not exploit Peter on the spot for this matter. He simply took out the useless bracer separately and signaled the agents in the front row to come up one by one to receive and familiarize themselves with the new equipment. He planned to completely clear the forces of the Hand gathered in this city tonight, and then slowly clean up the mess.

...

"So quickly blacklisted an equipment? Is it because of Peter?" Luke blinked, thoughtfully, after hanging up Snoke's call. Could it be that certain special people are high-profile bodies that attract the attention of demon gods? Shaking his head, he decided to wait for Snoke to bring back the broken metal bracer to study it.

When necessary, it's time for Miss Stacy to bring her boyfriend Peter Parker to Hebron for a physical examination.

Well, if that doesn't work, let Ann do it. Anyway, apart from the current host Gwen, as long as there is enough food, Ann, who has no integrity at all, can do anything and sell anyone.
