Tyler shook his head and looked straight back at Dannie, forgetting what she said. "Alice is there on top and she's helping injured or wounded people. She might rest from time to time so why not message or call her, right," he said as he continued typing on the phone.

Geof rested on the outer wall of the house where the gate is connected to and he gave himself a deep sigh, feeling a bit impatient. Isobel squatted as she stared blankly at the stars on the black sky.

"How is Sheloah, Shannara, and Veon," Isobel whispered and Geof looked at her, curious.

"What happened? I realized that they're not with you guys. I wasn't able to know the other details from Dannie's father because of the sudden incident," Geof spoke, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Sheloah got kidnapped the other night," Tyler answered directly and it made Geof's eyes double in size. "A brief summary: the kidnapper left clues and Dannie's father knew where he's staying. The kidnapper requested for Dannie's father to stay behind. The reason? We don't know," Tyler added and Geof nodded slowly.

"We went to that place earlier and the problem is, we ran out of gas that was why we ran on foot towards the destined location. Dannie was the one leading everyone since she was the only one in the group who knows where to go," Isobel said and Geof raised a brow.

"Then if you already went there, what happened? Why did you guys get separated?" Isobel rolled her eyes at Geof's question when she remembered the reason why they all got separated.

"Whatever," Dannie just said and Geof got more curious. Why did he kidnap Sheloah and who is he in Dannie's life for her to react this way?

"Why, is he your boyfriend?"

"Ha!?"

Dannie suddenly punched Geof hard on the arm the moment she heard him say that question.

"He's definitely NOT my boyfriend, stupid!" Because of her reaction, everyone looked at her with questionable eyes. She acted aggressively than usual.

"If Josh heard this, what would he say," Isobel thought out loud and Tyler smiled a bit. He knew the answer to that question.

Maybe Josh will get jealous. Although he didn't show his feelings much, he only kept quiet about it and would only smile. They won't even notice that he's bothered about something. He was really an optimistic guy; one of his good traits.

"Where is Josh, by the way," Geof asked and everyone who heard his question frowned. They realized that Geof didn't know anything that had happened before they met again.

"He… died."

Isobel still found it difficult to say it. When Tyler heard her answer Geof, he frowned even more. He didn't have the courage to tell Geof the answer. Tyler still found Josh's death difficult to accept even though days have already passed since he passed away.

They still miss him.

Upon hearing this, Geof looked sad even though he didn't know Josh that much.

"What happened? Why did he… die?"

"He did it for Dannie," Tyler answered and Geof looked at him. "He loved her dearly. If you ever loved a person that much, you would be willing to give your life for him or her." Dannie's eyes watered the moment she remembered Josh's death and the reason behind it.

They were silent for a moment when suddenly, they received a text from Alice. Dannie quickly opened the message and everyone gathered around to read what she sent.
