Army of True Salvation
Chapter 194:Best Option
They already see a lot of cars in front them, giving them a hint that they are already near NLEX.
"The real challenge and battle will start any moment," Jun said, and everyone listened attentively. "If you guys need rest, find some place where you can hide before going to the meeting place," he added and everyone nodded, listening to his instructions.
"We didn't say this... but worse case scenario," John trailed off and everyone went quiet as they ran. "If none of your leaders arrived in the meeting place, call the shots to leave. Make sure to take the pilot with you," he said finally.
When everyone heard this, they suddenly went silent but they knew full well that they had to do this since they have no choice if ever this happens.
Their meeting place is a parking lot near the airport and since the building is about to get demolished, it is not being used. There may be zombies in the parking lot, but it won't be as many as the number of zombies outside the building.
Sheloah suddenly felt nervous. She felt that the plans may flop but since it was Erick who thought of it, one of the smartest guys during his time in the university, Sheloah felt slightly assured.
"Stop," Erick said, raising his hand as a gesture.
Everyone stopped running and they were catching their breaths. They noticed that there were changes happening in their surroundings.
It was so hot earlier and now that the sky's turning darker, it made everyone curious. They didn't expect that the weather would change and that the leaders haven't thought of this as well.
What if the sudden change of weather affected the success of their plans?
Everyone was suddenly surprised when one of their classmates shouted out of nowhere and one zombie jumped from one car beside her. One of her group mates was alert enough to get his gun and kill the zombie in one shot, saving her.
"Erick," Jun whispered to the man beside him and everyone went quiet as they carefully assessed their surroundings for a sudden attack. "The thing you least expected happened," Sheloah's uncle added and the girl heard what he said.
"Sir, will the plan work out," Sheloah asked worriedly and Erick shrugged as his answer.
"I was thinking about the weather last night but I didn't expect that the weather would be different today," Erick mumbled to himself then he looked at Sheloah to answer her question. "Chances are halved."
Everyone heard his answer then the students already discussed among themselves, starting to panic. When John noticed this, he suddenly talked to calm them down.
"Even though this was uncalled for, I want everyone to push through with the plan. If you give up and if you feed yourself to your anxiety, you die right here," he said, making everyone quiet.
It was starting to rain and the fog was still around. It would now be a bit difficult for them to go to their meeting place.
Right now, running is indeed the best option rather than attacking.
Veon approached Sheloah. "Stay close to me for the meantime," he said and Sheloah looked at him.
"Where would I even go," she said sarcastically as she reloaded her emergency gun.
"No firing of weapons as of the moment," John said and all of them nodded and kept quiet.
Now the rain poured heavily, making them drenched. They also felt the sudden cold due to the change of weather.
They were standing still as they heard footsteps approaching them. They could hear the groans of the zombies, too. They know that the enemies have sensed their presence.
Everyone held their weapons carefully. Everyone's focusing on their surroundings.
Sheloah now felt every beat of her heart. She was starting to worry because none of them expected a sudden change during their plans.
They indeed cannot control the natural phenomenon happening in their lives.
