Army of True Salvation
Chapter 53:Sadness and Anger
"What do you mean about Ace being gone," Veon said, shocked, as Dean was now crying on the floor.
"We were just... t-talking by the bonfire. When we stood up to approach our other friends, Ace... g-got shot suddenly," Dean said in between sobs and everyone was starting to get angry when they heard this.
He wasn't a zombie then somebody just shot him. But the question is who? Is there a traitor in their group?
"Who shot him? Did any of you see the person," Isobel asked. Just from the tone of her voice, her anger was evident. Dean shook his head as his answer to her question. He didn't know who had shot Ace.
"Is it possible that there would be traitors among us," Tyler asked and everyone looked at him.
"It's impossible to have traitors in 4A. As a teacher, I know all of you. There's no one person here who'd be very angry at a joker like Ace," Sir Erick said and they all agreed with his explanation.
They all looked at Dean who still continued crying. Sheloah approached him and tapped his shoulder. "Don't worry. Whoever that person is, he'll get it," Sheloah said as she helped Dean stand up.
"Sheloah, what're you planning to do," her uncle asked and Sheloah sighed. She was irritated that something like this had happened.
Her body was aching but Sheloah stormed outside 7-Eleven. Her uncle, Sir Erick, Veon, Josh, Tyler, and Isobel followed Sheloah suit, a little surprised. They were now suspicious of what she might do.
The moment she reached the bonfire, she saw Ace, lying on the ground. He was shot on the chest two times. There was a pool of blood under and around him. Even though Sheloah was scared of blood, her anger for Ace's death made her overcome her fear. What she felt deeply now was…
Sadness and anger.
A lot of their classmates were surrounding Ace's dead body. Others who were close to him and others who felt sympathy cried for their fellow classmate.
Sheloah knelt down and held Ace's hand. "Thank you for your help. We won't forget the memories we spent with you," she whispered then after a few moments, she stood up.
Veon went to Sheloah. "You shouldn't be moving too much. Your body's still recuperating. Let's find out some clues about this matter," he said and Sheloah just ignored him.
Sheloah walked to the middle of the location and everyone now looked at her. Sheloah took a deep breath, released it, then shouted.
"Who killed our comrade!?"
Everyone heard what Sheloah said loud and clear. The place had turned silent as well after she spoke.
Sheloah's mother suddenly approached her daughter, calming her down. Isobel and Veon went to her as well.
"Hey, calm down," Isobel said and she held Sheloah's back.
"Isobel's right, Sheloah. You have to stop," her mother said but she ignored the two.
"Stop it. You're not in the perfect condition to start a fight," he said and Sheloah looked at Veon sharply.
"So that's it? Ace is dead and we won't do anything about it?" Veon sighed deeply when he heard Sheloah say this.
"That's not what I meant. We're worried about your safety. You just came from an accident," Veon explained and Sheloah's eyes started releasing tears.
She couldn't accept Ace's death. Even though she wasn't close with him, she found his presence important in their class.
Isobel hugged Sheloah to comfort her. "We understand you, Sheloah. For now, let's keep quiet. What Ace needs now is our prayers," Isobel said and this time, Sheloah released her tears.
They all went quiet. They started holding each other's hands in one big circle as they prayed for Ace. When he volunteered for the class' protection, they didn't expect him to be so willing. He was also indeed kind despite his wishy-washy attitude.
After they prayed, they suddenly heard rustling of the leaves from the trees near them. They all looked at the source of the sound and was quite surprised to see one boy who had jumped from the tree's branch. He was holding a gun and he smirked at them with malice.
