As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 255 - If That Happens, Let's Just Brace It

Aside from only going there with just his team of assistants, he would bring Yuina along. She would enter the team on the pretext of being introduced by Riku.

Even though Ryuu had agreed to it, he couldn't shake off his worries. They had to take lots of precaution.

Sighing softly, he said, "There's a possibility that your identity would be revealed. So..."

"If that happens, let's just brace it," answered Yuina with determination.

Yuina had thought of various kinds of things that might happen throughout the time she entered the production crew. Aside from the danger of being in the forest, the other thing they had to be careful about was her identity..

If it indeed happened, Yuina would just follow the flow by affirming the exposure.

"Well, my love, you don't have to worry so much. Since we're deep in the forest, news about you won't reach the media so soon."

Ryuu was speaking the facts. He had experienced filming in such a place numerous times already.

The deeper they went into the forest, the harder it was to get a decent network connection. It was different than the network that the forest rangers used.

Moreover, the crew members have signed the confidentiality contracts. Director Aoyama won't keep quiet if any of them breach them, no matter the reason.

Yuina finished the slices of watermelon. She felt so full right now. The watermelon that was brought by Hiro the other day was indeed delicious.

"It's so quiet right now, isn't it?" asked Yuina as she glanced out of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The summer sky was so bright. She shuddered as she imagined how blazingly hot outside.

Ryuu pursed his lips. He understood the meaning of his wife's words.

"Yes, it's so quiet."

Both of them didn't understand why did the one who exposed their hidden marriage suddenly vanished as if he had never appeared before.

That person had even stalked Yuina since last year. His tenacity showed that he wasn't someone they could take lightly.

"For now..." Ryuu brushed Yuina's bangs, gently touching her forehead, "Let's just enjoy this peace."

Nodding, Yuina agreed, "It's like calm before the storm."

Just how peaceful and undisturbed the summer sky outside was.

Yuina and Ryuu just did mundane things together throughout his short break.

In the morning, they got up after rolling on the bed for quite some time, unwilling to wake up.

In the afternoon, they would cook together. They didn't forget to fool around, almost messing with the kitchen in the process.

Before sundown, both of them would take a stroll in the vast garden of the residential complex. Ryuu and Yuina properly put up a disguise before going out.

In the evening, after having dinner, they would either watch any film together or just simply lying on the couch, talking about random things.

Once the night got later, both of them brushed their teeth together then went to bed.

For the time being, Ryuu restrained himself from touching Yuina. He was afraid to do so because of his wife's miscarriage.

Without Yuina knowing, Ryuu called Kanna once to privately inquire about what should he take note of in his wife's case. The female doctor lashed out to him.

"Really! I just wanna smack you on the head but your wife won't allow me! Remember to take good care of her this time! She's still fragile after losing the child."

Kanna was furious over the miscarriage and the abrupt exposure of the media.

Although as a doctor herself she understood that in most cases, the miscarriages didn't have a concrete underlying factor, as a friend she was still upset.

It was better if Ryuu was with Yuina from the beginning. At the very least, Yuina won't feel too lonely when dealing with her loss.

At the same time, Kanna was mad with Yuina too because of the latter's reluctance to talk things out with Ryuu.

Fortunately, the couple spent some time together to communicate better. If that didn't happen, Kanna really wanted to go back to the city and shove some sense into their heads.

"Since the matter of your marriage has been revealed, don't let Yuina suffer from the media. If I caught her crying because of the malicious news, I'd just hunt you down!"

Ryuu just obediently accepted the scolding. After Kanna cooled down, she shared what he asked about.

"...if you guys wanna try to have a child again, please make sure Yuina is really alright with it. Since the mother often suffers physically and mentally after losing a child, let her opinions weigh down the end decision."

Ryuu's emotions were in a mess yet he still thanked Kanna properly. After hanging up the phone, he was quiet for a long time.

Because of his insensitivity, he only knew about Yuina taking contraceptives recently. Although he was so shocked at first, Ryuu also understood Yuina had her own reasons.

It turned out, it was because she was afraid to have a child when he was always away.

Ryuu was saddened at the thought that he couldn't even give his wife a sense of security because of his own actions.

That night, as usual, Ryuu carefully cradled Yuina while she was nestling comfortably on his chest.

Lowering a hand from her waist, Ryuu gently put his palm over her lower abdomen.

"...does it still hurt, my love?" In a choked voice, he asked.

Yuina put on a wry smile.

She realized that, at certain times, her husband would touch her tummy and ask the same question.

The look in his eyes brimmed with regret and sorrow.

"It doesn't hurt anymore, but... I still couldn't forget the pain in my heart."

And, that would be her answer.

Yuina was so happy to be able to spend more time together with Ryuu recently unlike before. She didn't remember when was the last time Ryuu was at home when she was on summer break.

But, at the same time, Yuina also no longer concealed her feelings just because she was reluctant to be a burden to Ryuu.

Even though Yuina knew what she said would further sadden him, she still did it.

She no longer wanted to put on a fake smile anymore.

"You'll be alright... I promise."

Ryuu dropped a tender kiss on his beloved's forehead, silently wishing to be able to take all of the pain away from her.

It was partially his fault that made them stuck in that kind of situation before.

Still, Ryuu was grateful because he was given a chance to turn everything over again.

"My love?"

Fingers tenderly stroking her hair, he sweetly whispered.

"...en?"

Eyes almost closed, she just hummed faintly.

"Why don't we go back to your family home tomorrow? We can spend a few days living there?"

Ryuu's questions stunned Yuina. She opened her eyes wide.

"...really?"

The man's smile was so gentle.

"En. Lately, you haven't gone back there, right? Let's go together."

The reply to his question was an embrace from his beloved.

"Yes! I've wanted to go back but, I haven't had the time. Let's go there in the morning?"

Yuina still remembered that she planned to visit her family home after the sport days ended.

Yet, misfortune befell her thus delaying her plan.

She didn't expect to hear Ryuu mentioning it first.

"Whatever you want, my love," Ryuu leaned down, brushing his lips over hers, "We can drop by your favorite place to get breakfast. Go to sleep now. Sweet dreams, my love."

"Hehe, okay~ Thank you, hubby."

Yuina pecked on his lips before she closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of him being so close to her.

Ryuu was quiet as he silently looking at his sleeping wife. His fingers twirled a lock of her hair, his mind ventured deep into his thoughts.

The next morning, even before the first light broke through the darkness, Yuina and Ryuu woke up. They wanted to use the opportunity of when the city was still sleeping to move quite freely than usual.

"My love, you look so happy today."

Ryuu pointed out after they got inside the car. He deliberately chose a low-key-looking car to avoid attracting unnecessary attention.

Yuina touched her face, feeling how wide her smile was. She laughed, "I haven't gone there for months. Even though the housekeeper always keeps the house clean, I feel bad whenever I'm thinking about it."

Yuina hired an auntie who lived nearby to come cleaning the house. The middle-aged woman didn't have a chance to know Yuina's parents because the former only started living there a few years ago.

"I think you should think more of what you wanna have for breakfast," Ryuu let out a chuckle, the corners of his eyes crinkling, "You didn't eat much during dinner. You should be starving by now."

Touching her tummy, Yuina nodded, "En, I do feel hungry."

"All the more reason for you to think about food," Ryuu laughed again.

His words made Yuina looking forward to getting breakfast at her favorite place.

To one of the places that still held her childhood memories.
