As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 272 - Stop Dragging Her Into Everything, Okay?

The couple spent more time alone at the poolside until the air getting chillier.

"We should head to bed now," Kazuya pulled Himari's right arm while the other hand grabbed her waist, "The children want to play at the beach once more before we go back."

Himari grinned, "If you dare to try to throw me into the water again, I'll pull you in with me."

Kazuya laughed at the memory.

"I'd be more than please if you do so."

Himari threw him a glare yet the man just laughed more.

Kazuya let the towel draped on Himari's shoulders. When he turned around, he almost flinched when a touch landed on his back.

Both of them were quiet when Himari traced the tattoo with her fingertips.

Somehow, Kazuya felt her fingertips were hot as if they seeped heat into his skin.

"...sweetheart?"

Himari quickly retracted her hand. She coughed once, a blush spread on her face.

"I'm just wondering... Does your tattoo has any meaning?"

Until now, she had never asked him that.

The tattoo was a half of an angel's wings, inked into the left side of his shoulders. The tips of the wings stretched until his lower back.

Because Himari rarely saw Kazuya shirtless, she sometimes forgot that this man tattooed his back.

A slight smile curled on Kazuya's lips. He snaked an arm around Himari's waist, a kiss fell on her lips.

"Do you find it sexy?" When he asked, the tone was low and sounded languid.

Another blush deepened the redness of Himari's face.

The kiss was so random!

Twinkles gleamed at the depth of Kazuya's eyes as he laughed seeing his lady's bashful look.

"I have it done when I was in my senior year of high school. I just picked the design because it looked cool."

"...no other meaning?"

Kazuya shook his head. He hummed for a moment, thinking about something, "Maybe I should tattoo your name on my left chest next? It'd have a meaning then."

Himari burst out laughing, "Hahaha! You're so cheesy!"

"But, don't you like it?" Kazuya nuzzled his nose on hers.

"Hehe, yes, I like it," Himari answered honestly.

While Himari felt so safe in Kazuya's embrace, Jun was a drunken mess at one of the five-star bars on the island.

It seemed as if he suffered a tremendous blow after lashing out at Himari today.

Inside a private room, a few bottles of wines scattered on the glossy surface of the low table. The rich young heirs gathered together with beautiful women accompanying them, either their own girlfriends or the ladies they met at the bar.

While flirtatious talk and cheerful laughter filled the room, there was also some anxiousness.

"Yo, Jun... You don't have to be this sad. It's good that your ex doesn't want to get back to you! She's stupid for dumping you before. Do you want someone stupid as your girlfriend?"

Jun was comforted by his circle of friends. The one who badmouthed Himari in the pretext of persuading Jun was the same young man who had done so during the banquet on the cruise, named Ichirou.

"Forget about her, Jun. She's already happy with another man. Just let her be."

Another young man chimed in. Takumi patted Jun's shoulders as the latter slumped listlessly on the couch.

Ichirou gave a glance at a nearby young lady. Sensing his clear meaning that underlying the gaze, the woman who dressed in a tight-fitting burgundy dress scooted closer to Jun.

"Young Master Fujihara, it's not worth it to be sad over a woman who doesn't see your quality. Come, drink more. Let Risa here to accompany you."

The woman spoke in a coquettish tone. She poured another glass of wine into Jun's empty glass.

While she brought the glass to him, she deliberately pressed her chest on his arm, her other hand stroked Jun's thighs.

"Come, drink more. Forget about her with this drink."

Risa blew a breath to Jun's neck, sending along with the scent of her seductive perfume.

Crash!

In an instant, the room was shrouded in silence.

The people inside stopped talking, all of them stared in the direction of the glass shattered on the floor. Red wine flowed in between the glass pieces, glistening under the chandelier.

"Hey! Hey! Jun, buddy, why are you overreacting?" Ichirou was startled.

Risa was horrified. She moved away from Jun. Her arm that got struck by the man stung in pain.

Jun forced himself to stand up. He almost stumbled when his right knee hit the table. His friends were quick to support him.

"Go... away!"

His voice croaked terribly. The throbbing pain inside his mind couldn't be compared to the bleeding of his heart.

"Why... Just why... What did she mean?" Jun was slurring as he was thoroughly drunk.

"Geez! Let's just bring you back! Okay, okay, we get it that you don't want to stay here anymore!"

"Yes, yes. Let's go back."

Knowing that Jun might erupt if they forced him to continue staying here, the two men ended their happy time at the bar.

While half-dragging and half-pulling Jun, Ichirou whispered, "Hey, why don't we book a room at the bar for him? He might be comforted if a devilish beauty spends a night with him."

Takumi frowned, "If you want to be killed by Jun tomorrow, just go ahead. Don't drag me into your plan."

Ichirou shut his mouth.

It was a likely possibility.

Although they had known Jun since young, they rarely got together like this because Jun didn't indulge in what most young heirs loved; beautiful young women and luxury.

"This is what he deserved for falling for a woman beneath him," Ichirou scoffed, "He should feel lucky that vixen left him! Why doesn't he just look at Kikyo? Kikyo has been in love with him for ages!"

Takumi didn't comment on anything. Compared to Ichirou, he was more reasonable.

"The matter of the heart is complicated. We, the outsiders, couldn't do much."

Ichirou rolled his eyes.

Jun was safely brought back by the two men. After lying him down on the bed, Ichirou and Takumi left.

They should return to the bar. The night was still young.

Inside the hotel room, Jun's mind and heart were in excruciating pain. He repeatedly pounded his chest with a fist, his face was twisted.

"If you think that I'm someone who'd abort a child because of a breakup... it means that you've never known me properly."

Himari's parting words kept echoing inside his mind,

"...you've never known me properly."

In the five years they were together, he had never known her well.

"Haa... haa... Himari..."

Jun cried, tears dripping down his flushed face.

Morning came after a torturous night to Jun. He woke up with a bad headache yet Jun still coerced himself to get off of the bed.

After Jun washed his face and drank a few glasses of water, his mind sobered for a bit.

The morning sunlight was too piercing. People had already gathered at the beach even at this hour. He drew the curtain, not letting a single light penetrate through the windows.

Jun sat on the single couch, eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

He had to admit that he was too blinded by his shock and rage to analyze things properly.

Little by little, Jun recalled the incident that led him to know about Himari's pregnancy that happened three years ago.

A few weeks before, at Fujihara main house.

Jun stayed inside the car for a long time even after he had parked the car inside the porch. He felt listless by just thinking of having to meet his mother.

His mother called him, asking Jun to come home. Because he had rejected his mother's invitation a few times already, he didn't have the heart to continue doing the same.

Although returning to the main house only suffocated him.

Finally, Jun stepped inside the huge mansion that only brought coldness to him.

At dinner, there was only Jun and his mother. His father was abroad to visit the new branch that was set up there a few months ago.

Well, his father had always been absent.

"Stay for the night, Jun. You said that you have no classes tomorrow morning. How about going back after lunch?"

Mrs. Fujihara clipped the cucumber salad and placed the dish into Jun's bowl. She was happy to be able to dine with his excellent son.

"I have other work to do tomorrow, Mom," answered Jun dully. He forced the salad down his throat, "My colleague asked me to fill his place. He has an urgent thing to do at home."

"You're always like that, ah! That's why Mom said to quit your job and directly enter your father's company! Why must you suffer like that, working an unpromising job?"

Although Mr. and Mrs. Fujihara allowed Jun to be a lecturer for a period of time, it didn't mean that they truly respected their son's wish. If possible, both of them just wanted to drag Jun out of his current position just so he would start learning to manage the company.

"Mom, we have talked about this," Jun frowned.

Why couldn't his mother stop repeating the same thing?

The grilled salmon in his mouth felt papery. It was hard to swallow it.

"Yes, yes, you won't even think of being someone who would teach others if not for the country girl. Doesn't she become a teacher herself?" replied Mrs. Fujihara in a vexed tone.

Until now, she couldn't let go of her enmity toward Himari.

Clang!

Jun abruptly put down the cutleries. The sound startled Mrs. Fujihara.

"Jun, you haven't..."

"I'll go back first."

There was no point for him to continue staying at home if he would only feel discomfort. He endured so much because she was his mother but...

Jun sneered inwardly.

At times, strangers were better than family.
