As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 278 - It Would Be A Cruel Punishment To The Man She Loved

Ryuu really acted like it was his first time seeing Yuina alongside the two new assistants. His actions made Riku sigh in relief because she had been afraid if this dear ancestor wanted to be mushy-mushy with his wife.

"Everyone, get in position!"

The assistant director shouted through a megaphone. The people involved scurried to their posts. It was finally time for the scene in the dilapidated shack.

Yuina wished to see Ryuu in action but, it was impossible to get too close because the shack was occupied by the selected production crew. She could only peer through the tiny cracks of the wall.

"Sister Yuina, don't worry," Riku leaned toward Yuina then whispered softly, "You'll get to see Brother Ryuu acting the scene at the river tomorrow. Since the area was vast, we can follow the crew there."

Yuina refrained from laughing. She gave the younger woman a grateful smile, "En, thanks for thinking of me."

Riku smiled sheepishly, "Brother Ryuu has told me to take care of you ah. If not, who knows how petty he would be with me later."

Yuina could only smile as it was the truth.

"Cut! Kiyoshi, you've to focus on your emotions more!"

Suddenly, Director Aoyama's voice blared inside the shack.

The child actor that played the role of Ryuu's character's son, Kurata Kiyoshi, was wiping his little face.

"I'm sorry, Director Aoyama. I'll do better!" Kiyoshi gave the director a deep bow.

"You can do it, Kiyoshi. Believe in yourself. Come, let's see the footage."

The director wasn't mad with the boy as he beckoned to Kiyoshi to come closer. Kiyoshi quickly ran to where the director sat. He intently watched the screen that captured the NG earlier.

Ryuu also walked to the director and the boy. He gave the boy a head pat.

"It's always hard to film a crying scene. We can cry with the help of eye drops but, the emotions won't be perfectly captured by the lens."

The scene in the shack was an emotional one.

The main character's son was supposed to cry as he asked why did his father only show his care when they were in this kind of dangerous situation. The child would also vent out the grievances he suppressed all this time.

The next scene would follow the moment the boy ran out of the shack and got trapped in the wilderness, prompting the main character to search for him.

Yuina was thoroughly quiet as she watched Ryuu interacting with the child actor and the director. He gave opinions where he saw fit and encouragement to the boy.

Her husband was really passionate about delivering a role. He would fully be engrossed in any role, be it the character as a beggar turned assassin, an ex-convict or a devious underworld lord.

Yuina secretly thought that if she insisted Ryuu stepping down from his throne in the entertainment industry, it would be a cruel punishment to the man he loved.

What had started as a way for him to quickly gain wealth had turned into something precious to him.

Yuina was glad she was able to come here and see how her man act.

Soon, the filming was resumed. After two more takes, Director Aoyama was finally satisfied.

"Good job! Now, it's the scene for..."

Ryuu and the others walked out of the shack. He was talking to Kiyoshi, one hand was rubbing the boy's shoulders.

"Take plenty of rest tonight. Tomorrow's scene is harder than the previous ones."

"Yes! Thank you, Uncle Ryuu!"

Kiyoshi grinned while bowing to Ryuu. Although he looked exhausted, his spirit was still lively.

"Brother Ryuu, drink some water," Riku handed a mineral water bottle to the man, "Sister Yuina, where's the towel?"

"Here."

Yuina took the clean towel that Riku gave her earlier. Ryuu accepted the towel with a smile.

"Thanks."

Yuina just smiled back at him.

The scene that was filmed right now didn't involve Ryuu and Kiyoshi but the former still decided to stay and watch the progress. The crew changed the place to a set that was built nearby.

Ryuu sat next to the director while Riku brought Yuina and the other to sit on a tree trunk. The husband and wife exchanged a glance before acting as nothing happened.

"As you've been briefed before, tomorrow, Akane and Emi would help with whatever the stylist team needs. You have to make sure of the availability of Brother Ryuu's outfits, things like that."

"Okay~ Leave it to me!" Akane patted her chest.

"Understood, Sister Riku," Emi nodded her head.

"In Brother Ryuu's team, we have male assistants too but Brother Ryuu sent them to help with the crew," explained Riku, "Well, most of them are doing things that Brother Ryuu needs later anyway so that's fine."

"Then, how about Sister Yuina?" Emi glanced at the quiet Yuina, "Sister Yuina would be with Sister Riku?"

Emi and Akane were younger than Riku. At first, they didn't expect to see another addition to the team because when the company diverted them to join Riku, they didn't see Yuina anywhere during the meeting.

They just accepted Riku's explanation when the personal assistant said Yuina was her distant cousin.

"Yes, Sister Yuina would be with me," Riku laughed, waving her right hand, "Well, there are things I need her help so... that's why she got recruited here."

Working in this industry required one to be able to withstand pressure but Riku didn't understand why did she feel so guilty when lying about Sister Yuina.

Aye...

"It's getting colder," Emi suddenly made a remark, eyes lifting up to the night sky.

"Huh... Why do I think that it's going to rain soon?" Akena frowned.

All of them looked at the sky to see heavy masses of clouds shielding the moon. Just a moment earlier, the sky was bright with stars scattering in the sky.

"The weather here is unpredictable," Riku heaved a sigh, "Let's hope it'd just be a light rain."

"Yeah, it's better than a thunderstorm," Akane agreed.

What happened next was the exact opposite of what they were hoping for.

The clouds began pouring rain down to the forest. What started as light rain turned into a massive downpour next.

"Go back! Go back!"

"Hey! Shield the camera!"

"Everyone! Find shelter!"

The filming had to be postponed. Director Aoyama instructed everyone to move under the nearby canopy tent. The tent was big as it was used to gather the crew members. It can easily let up to forty people squeeze together.

Yuina ran together with Riku. Her clothes and hair were slightly damp. She didn't expect that night rain would welcome the first night of her coming here.

The lamps that were hanging above their heads dangled with such a huge movement in the tent.

"Sister Yuina, are you cold?"

Riku didn't forget to take care of her boss' wife even in this kind of situation.

"I'm okay. How about you? Emi and Akane too?"

"Just got a bit wet," Emi ruffled her hair.

"Maybe... the filming has to resume tomorrow," Akane muttered as she looked around the canopy.

Director Aoyama, the assistant director, screenwriter and a few actors were discussing things together. Ryuu was included. The director nodded his head several times while giving out instructions.

Yuina directed her gaze to where they gathered. Ryuu's hair and clothes got wet like the others.

In a split second, her eyes met his, just enough for her to capture the small smile on his lips.

Yuina was suddenly entranced at the sight of Ryuu.

He didn't do anything. He was just standing there with the others yet, she felt like he was too dazzling in her eyes without any reason.

Oh, goodness me...

The pitter-pattered of the falling rain against the roof of the tent resembled the loud pounding of her heart.

Yuina had to admit that in this unbefitting moment, she fell in love all over again with Ryuu.

"Sister Yuina, your face is red! Do you have a fever?"

Riku's worried voice pulled Yuina back from her thoughts. The girl eyed Yuina in concern.

"Ah, what..." Yuina was taken aback by the questions. Her words trailed off.

"Your face is red," Akane pointed out. Emi who stood next to her nodded.

Yuina unconsciously touched her cheeks. She felt heat spreading from her face down to her neck.

"I don't have a fever, I just..."

"You guys can return to your tents."

All of them looked in the direction of the voice.

Ryuu was walking toward them. One of his hands played with his damp hair with the other rested on his hip.

Yuina almost called out to his name the moment she saw him smiling. In the end, she just put on a small smile.

"Brother Ryuu, you've finished talking with the director?" asked Ryuu.

"En. The director said to call it a night," Ryuu grinned. His eyes darted to his wife for a second before they went over his shoulders, looking at Director Aoyama, "It's unfortunate but to be on the safe side, there's nothing we can do."

"Then, let's get hot choc drinks first before going back to our tents. Seems like everyone doing the same," Riku clapped her hands twice.

All of them agreed. The cooking team was distributing a cup of hot chocolate each. The queue grew longer as more people joined it.

Riku urged Akane and Emi to quickly follow her, leaving Ryuu and Yuina behind. The husband and wife didn't speak as both of them maintain their facades.

Yet, the same thought crossed their minds, unknown to the other party.

Tonight was a good one.
