"what are you doing here?"

she asked, bewildered. Why was he here?!

"I wanted to see you. You never gave me the chance to talk to you last time."

He answered, putting his arms on his chest.

"how did you knew my exact address?"

how can he knew about it? She never gave him her address.

"I have my ways, miss Ho."

he smiled, looking down at her.

"Mr. I don't know why you came here, but I have something important to do."

she was irritated at him. He has this aura of overconfidence.

"Jake, I remembered telling you my name last time."

he reminded her, still standing on her front.

"yes Jake, I'm sorry to tell you but I have to go."

she went inside, put her dishes on the sink and grab her bag.

When she walked out, Jake was still there. Standing all mighty feeling that he was oozing handsomeness.

She guessed that he was thinking that way.

"where are you going?"

"office"

"I can give you a lift."

"you can be stuck on traffic."

"I don't care."

"I'm going there anyway."

she surrendered, he was so annoying! She will surely get rid of him when they get there.

Inside the car, Jake was still blabbering about anything, he was a talkative person. She just kept her mouth shut. She will just nod if she needed too.

When they arrived at the entrance of the building, Maria hastily unbuckled her seatbelt and went out. Not giving Jake to be a gentleman.

she said and closed the door.

She entered the building and went towards the reception area. There, she saw Melody.

"hi Maria!"

she greeted cheerfully. Maria smiled back.

"hello Melody, can you do me a favor?"

she asked shyly.

They'd been friends since she started working here, Melody was the only person she became friends with. They went to cafeteria together if she didn't made lunch. So, she became close to her a little.

"what is it? Why did I never seen you this past days?"

she looked at her with worried eyes.

"I've been sick"

she lied to her, she can't tell her the truth. She then give her, her resignation letter.

"can you give this to Mr. Chiu?"

Melody asked looking at the envelope curiously.

"just give it to him, I'll treat you to a hot pot when I get my salary."

She plastered a smile on her face.

"shoot! okay I'll give it to him, consider it done!"

"okay, thank you very much Melody. I need to go, bye."

She bid goodbye and went towards the entrance again, to go out.

She walked out with her head down, because of it she bumped into something hard.

She closed her eyes and was ready to hit the ground but she never did.

Maria immediately opened her eyes to see a pair of dark chocolate eyes.

She pushed him away and turned around to walk beside the road. Maria pretended nothing happened and waited for a cab. She never looked his way, even when she was very tempted to.
