"what do you want?"

He replied coldly.

"its my birthday tomorrow, can you please visit me and we can celebrate it together? Please?"

His mother started crying. He almost forgot his mother's birthday!

"I'll try."

"please Toby, if you don't want to do it in our house then we can celebrate it in a hotel. I can send you the exact address later."

"mmhhmm"

The line went quiet. All he heard was his mother's sobs.

"I'll hung up now, I'm busy."

"okay, I love you baby."

Tobias heard his mother speak but he ended the call coldly.

After a while, Tobias received a text from his mother about the address. He just read it without any emotion and continued on where he left.

Maybe because of his love for his mother, he still went to the hotel where they would celebrate his mother's birthday.

When he arrived, the room was almost full of his mom friends and some business associates.

He looked for his mother nervously, he tried to calmed himself. When his mother spotted him, she happily walked towards him and hugged him tight.

"Happy Birthday."

He said seriously and handed her a small box stiffly.

"oh? Thank you baby! You never forgot what's my favorite."

His mother was glad to see her favorite small angel figurine. His mother was collecting that since he was young.

Since their family were intact.

His heart trembled with that thought. He just masked his expression with a poker face.

The party went well, and he sat on the very shady part of the room. His mother will just come to him and talked to him for a while then left again to entertain other visitors.

He also seen uncle Marcos, who was tailing his mother. Tobias balled his fist in anger.

'How can he do that? He's been tailing mom since the beginning, but is there a time he remembered his wife and his daughter?!'

Tobias thought furiously.

After the party, his mother called him for a picture. She reasoned that she wanted it to have a remembrance for this special day of her life.

Tobias gave in, knowing that he will be with his mother. But, to his surprise uncle Marcos was with them.

He can't stand being with the man but for his mother he remained on his spot. When the photographer said to them 'smile', his mother hugged him and he saw uncle Marcos looked at his mother.

He looked away and scrunched his face, that's when the camera clicked.

Tobias came back to his senses. That was the time this photo was been taken. He crumpled the picture even more!

He thought, that maybe he can forgave his mother.
