After regaining his powers, Drew Zod immediately tore all the members of the Crime Syndicate to pieces, savoring the thrill of killing his enemies once again after decades.
"call"
Drew Zod let out a long sigh and took a deep look at the corpses and remains floating on the sea.
Then, he noticed Rowe flying back through the air. "Is it over?"
"It's over. The Superpower was no match for us."
Luo Wei smiled.
"He really got us into trouble before, and Rowe, you're too late. The Justice League base is already destroyed."
Hal Jordan flew to his side, panting heavily. He was exhausted from being in combat, and the light ring on his hand was dim.
"Feel sorry."
"Aquaman and Cyborg, they should still be alive. The underwater kingdom won't let their king die so easily."
Lowe noticed the tattered mesh and asked about the other two wounded Justice League cores.
"Atlantis just informed us that Aquaman is alright; the blessing of the sea god has healed his injuries, and Cyborg is temporarily out of danger with Atlantis's help."
Bruce Wayne arrived on a jet ski and said, "But Cyborg's mechanical body will probably need to be rebuilt. I need to get rid of the virus in his mainframe first."
"Terrifying Artificial Intelligence"
Hal Jordan shrugged, recalling the grid's self-awareness.
“General, the Crime Syndicate is missing one member, Alfred.”
At this point, after checking each member of the criminal syndicate, Fiora unexpectedly discovered that one person was missing.
"Don't worry, this is within our expectations."
Drew Zod waved his hand and looked at Rowe beside him, signaling him to speak.
"Before we can crack the magic box, we need someone from Earth 3 to open the teleportation channel, so an ordinary person like Afu is the best choice."
“I already had Kara go and capture Alfred beforehand. Sorry, Bruce, I meant Alfred from Earth-3.”
Before Lowe arrived, he had already devised a plan: one person must remain until the Kryptonians mastered the technology of the Magic Box.
"Kara isn't a warrior, can she handle him?"
Fiora was somewhat worried.
“Fiora, don’t be so discouraged about Kara. Her mastery of super hypnosis is quite good; it’s enough to deal with Alfred.”
Rowe stretched, and a huge shadow loomed over his head.
It was none other than the Kryptonian mothership. The massive mothership occupied almost half of deep space, and a hatch on top opened, revealing a beautiful figure waving down.
Rowe recognized the figure at the hatch and smiled. "It's Kara. Looks like she succeeded."
"Zod, it's time to go back and prepare for a new era for the Kryptonians!"
Chapter 132: The New Era of Krypton, Sun Wukong's Visit
!
The Crime Syndicate incident came to an end, and Bruce Wayne was responsible for cleaning up the debris left in the Atlantic Ocean. Fortunately, this area was international waters and did not involve other countries, making the post-war situation relatively easy to handle.
However, the Justice League's temporary base had to be rebuilt. The towering building on the sea, after several setbacks, was already in a precarious state. Another storm would probably be enough to make the building collapse.
Before leaving, Lowe promised Bruce Wayne that Krypton could provide technical support if needed, but the cautious Bruce, perhaps still somewhat wary of the Kryptonians, declined the offer. It's possible that Cyborg's experience with the Mesh invasion left a deep impression on him.
Lowe didn't press the matter further. He had more important things to do at the moment, which was to help Drew Zod restore Krypton's former glory on Earth-3.
Now that the criminal syndicate is gone, the region of Earth-3 is unlikely to face any greater threats.
There shouldn't be any more threats in the short term, but even if a threat does arise, Drew Zod has the strength to deal with it.
After all, how many enemies are as powerful as Superpower?
"Kara, how's the outsider doing?"
Inside a quiet office on the Kryptonian mothership, starlight from outer space shines through a rectangular glass window onto the office chair.
Kara was resting on the table when she heard Rowe push open the door. She looked up, frowned, and said, "Krypton's interrogation methods are very tough. He's completely obedient now."
"It looks like Zod's plan is about to be implemented; he can't wait to rebuild the new Krypton."
The outsider that Rowe mentioned refers to Alfred. If he were simply called Alfred, it would be reminiscent of Bruce Wayne's Alfred.
"You handed over the Codex of Life to him?"
Kara yawned and stretched, revealing a small section of her fair and tender abdomen, with her alluring abs clearly visible.
"Not yet, but I plan to extract the Codex of Life, and I was just about to tell you about it."
Luo Wei pulled up a chair and sat down, noticing that Kara's jewel-like eyes were sparkling as if she had endless things to say. He asked, "Just say what you have to say, I won't get angry."
"If I can make you angry, that would be an achievement."
Kara smiled, then became serious, raising her eyebrows as she said, "I don't think handing the Codex of Life over to Zod is a good choice. Doing so would only lead Krypton to repeat its mistakes. Although I am also a 'product' of the Codex of Life, I still hope we can try a new path."
“Kara, Zod came to Earth from afar, not just for Earth, but also for the Codex of Life.”
Rowe understood what Kara meant. Kara did not want the Kryptonian civilization to be bound by the Code of Life again, where every newborn child had to conform to the planetary system, which had led to Krypton becoming a race without ambition over time.
Kroe knew Zod's thoughts.
Compared to Earth, Zod craved the Life Codex far more. After all, if Earth were gone, he could find another; but if the Life Codex was lost, then Krypton would be gone too.
The hope of human continuation becomes slim.
Krypton cannot be revitalized in the short term. You can't expect Drew Zod and his followers, a group of people with warrior genes, to reproduce and give birth to a group of warriors.
Then let a group of warriors govern the country. Not everyone is Octavian; they can't govern a country well, let alone Krypton, which will eventually rule an entire star system.
"Zod might understand."
Kara understood what Rowe was thinking, but she still wanted to give it a try.
“He understands, but he won’t do it, at least not at this stage.”
Rowe interrupted Kara and said patiently, "Actually, my thoughts are similar to yours: to free Krypton from the shackles of the Codex of Life and break free from the constraints on the future."
Krypton could not avoid the effects of the Codex in its early days, and now Krypton needs talent: politicians, businesspeople, and scientists.
All of this requires a codex of life, which contains all the genes we need. The idea of natural production being free from this codex can only be realized gradually after everything has stabilized.
"I was too impatient."
Kara pursed her lips after hearing this, realizing that she had acted too hastily. Without the Codex of Life, rebuilding Krypton would be a difficult task.
"Don't be discouraged. The existence of the golden sun will inevitably make us stronger than before."
Rowe patted Kara's head.
"Don't touch me, you've messed up my hair."
Kara straightened her disheveled hair, then suddenly perked up her ears and heard footsteps outside the door. She said, "Zod is here; he must be looking for you."
"I made an appointment with him. We'll draw the Codex of Life later, and then go back together after it's over. Tonight is New Year's Eve."
Luo Wei smiled at her, turned around, opened the door, and walked out.
Outside the door, Drew Zod, dressed in a casual long-sleeved shirt, said, "I heard from Fiora that you can be found here."
“I just wanted to tell Carla that she’s family before things started.”
Lowe didn't hide anything, and he guessed that Zod had probably overheard the conversation, but just didn't show it.
He wouldn't point it out; sometimes, it's better not to say anything.
Drew Zod said nothing more and led the way to the laboratory.
The laboratory is spacious and not cluttered with unnecessary equipment. There is only a bed simply placed in the center, giving it a clean and simple look. Most of the equipment and instruments are hidden in the walls and floor and are only retrieved when needed.
To be honest, Lowe didn't really know how the Life Codex was placed inside his body. He only knew that Jor-El had stored the Life Codex in his own blood cells, but for many years, he had never sensed its presence.
But it's too early.
The process of extracting the Codex of Life is not complicated and does not require a lot of equipment. It only requires drawing blood from cells and extracting the Codex of Life from them.
Luo Wei only needs to lie in bed, while the researchers do the rest.
Within minutes, a cluster of starlight was extracted and stored in a pre-prepared storage repository.
That ball of light contained countless starlight points, the culmination of generations of Kryptonian scholars' efforts, recording all of Krypton's genetic data from ancient times to the present.
As long as you have life
The Codex of Life could create a new Kryptonian civilization within a few decades. The life forms conceived by the Codex of Life would always be for the benefit of the civilization system, allowing the speed of civilization development to reach a perfect threshold.
"Karl, thank you for everything you've done for Krypton."
Drew Zod gazed at the myriad of shimmering lights in the database. After decades, he was overwhelmed with emotion as he finally saw the Codex of Life again.
"I just put it in the right place."
After looking at the Codex Life for a while, Lowe continued in a deep voice, "My father will support me."
"I'm sorry about what happened to your father. On behalf of the Zod family and Krypton, I thank you for everything you've done."
Drew Zod patted him on the shoulder, his eyes full of apology.
"That's all in the past. The most important thing now is to revitalize Krypton."
Luo Wei waved his hand and said.
“Karl, I heard everything you and Kara said.”
Drew Zod looked at Rowe with admiration in his eyes and said, "I hope you can lead Krypton to a new path in the future."
"This matter requires careful consideration, but I will do everything in my power to ensure Krypton's continued existence in the universe."
Rowe could tell that Zod wanted him to become the leader of Krypton, but he didn't agree immediately.
Governing a vast empire is no easy task.
He's not interested now, but maybe he will be in the future. However, Krypton will never lack excellent leaders, so at least there won't be any collapse in the early stages.
What Rowe needs to do is ensure that Krypton doesn't repeat the same mistake.
