Looking at the sunshine outside, he sighed with relief at waking up naturally and stretched lazily. "Another hopeful day. Time to check in."
"Congratulations, host, you have gained one magic point."
"It's better than nothing! I'm one small step closer to my goal," Aaron murmured, somewhat prepared for the number.
He carried Abe out of the room and saw Dobby waiting for him there.
What are you doing here? Is something the matter?
“This is the master’s order,” Dobby explained. “The master instructed me to stay here so that I can serve our esteemed guest at any time.”
Aaron frowned. "How long have you been here?"
"I've been here since around 10 p.m. last night."
"But please rest assured, sir, I did not do anything impolite."
"Heh! Should I believe what you're saying?" Aaron pretended to be deep in thought. "A little elf who intercepts other people's letters has been guarding my door all night. Just thinking about it is terrifying."
“Sir, I…” Dobby’s eyes were brimming with tears as he looked at the wall and had the thought that his head was unusually hard.
"Alright, just kidding, I believe you."
However, please don't do this again. I don't like having strangers guarding the door while I sleep.
"But, but this is the master's order. Dobby is just a little elf and can only obey."
Upon hearing this, Aaron sighed and shook his head, speechless. "Fine! Then I, as your guest, hope you won't stand guard at the guest's door anymore. Can you do that?"
“Sure,” Dobby said excitedly. “No problem.”
"Is Draco up yet?"
"Young Master is up. He said you need to rest and doesn't want me to disturb you."
"Understood," Aaron said, then walked downstairs.
Dobby went into the room, pushed the trolley out, and prepared to wash the dishes.
Upon entering the lobby, Draco greeted him with a smile, "Good morning. Looks like you slept well last night. You've never gotten up this late at school."
"Indeed, I slept exceptionally well that night."
Draco noticed that Aaron was in much better spirits than yesterday, especially with an uncontrollable smile on his face, and couldn't help but ask curiously, "You seem particularly happy, did you have a wonderful dream?"
"No," Aaron waved his hand sheepishly. "I just set myself a small goal that will last for six months."
"Six months? A small goal?"
"It's a secret, so don't ask."
Draco rolled his eyes speechlessly; he hadn't intended to ask anyway.
“Now that you’re awake,” Draco said, walking to the corner and excitedly picking up Nimbus 2001 from the shelf. “Then let’s get to training.”
"Now?
"Isn't it inappropriate to train so early in the morning?"
"There's nothing wrong with it, it's already eight o'clock."
"Besides, you have so many tutoring classes during the holidays, your training time must have started much earlier than mine!" Draco said seriously.
Actually, he doesn't usually train Quidditch early in the morning, so sleeping in a little longer during holidays is no big deal.
But the situation is different now. Yesterday's training made him clearly feel a huge improvement, and his father, Lucius, also told him to seize the opportunity.
With only two days left before school starts, it's a pipe dream to expect Aaron to help with training once we get back to Hogwarts.
Moreover, Aaron ran away from home, and who knows when his family will come looking for him, so Draco needs to make the most of this training time.
“But…” Aaron frowned, “I haven’t had breakfast yet!”
"It's alright, I've prepared it for you." Draco seemed to have expected this, and proudly opened a food box on the table. "After all, he's a guest, and Malfoy wouldn't let a guest help on an empty stomach."
"It's perfect that you have a magic carpet. You can even exercise and aid digestion while eating, which saves a lot of trouble."
Aaron went inside and saw that the box contained bacon, sandwiches, fried eggs, sausages, and two cartons of milk.
"You're well prepared!"
“And there’s more.” Draco pulled another box from under the table, inside which was a large piece of roasted meat, weighing at least several pounds.
"This is for Abe. There's also freshly squeezed juice at the bottom of the box."
A white streak darted past with a whoosh. Abe sniffed the food box, then gave Draco a sensible look, slapping his paws together repeatedly.
Aaron's lips twitched slightly as he compared his breakfast with Abe's, and he felt inexplicably heartbroken.
He could understand that a human was inferior to a dragon, but he could not accept that a master was inferior to a pet.
"Ahem!
"Well, Abe's been on a diet lately, you're just helping it make a mistake."
"What?" Draco frowned, looking somewhat troubled.
Looking down, Abe was holding the food box tightly, refusing to let go, and his expression had become extremely serious, as if to say, "If you dare to open your mouth, I'll bite you to death."
"Haha! It's okay to treat yourself to something once in a while!"
Aaron smiled meaningfully, reached out and picked up Abe, ignoring its struggles, and casually switched the two lunch boxes.
"Now there's no problem."
Draco's lips twitched slightly, but he made no comment.
Soon, the two people and the dragon appeared in the sky above Malfoy Manor.
Draco diligently searched for the Golden Snitch amidst the chaotic collisions of the Quaffle and the Wanderer.
Aaron leisurely drank juice and ate barbecue on the magic carpet, while Abe looked utterly hopeless as he gnawed on a sandwich, his big eyes fixed on Aaron's food box, which should have been his.
Meanwhile, in Gaius's Drinks in Diagon Alley, Genes looked at his six men with a worried expression.
"It's been a day, everyone."
We searched all day, but all we know is that the young master left from the Leaky Cauldron, and we haven't found any clues since. Isn't this a bit too inefficient?
“Boss, we’ve done our best,” the bespectacled man said. “We’ve searched all of Gaius’s friends, but the young master isn’t at their house.”
We asked around at hotels, train stations, and even ordinary shops and roadside stalls throughout the Muggle world.
Logically, the young master should have left with five hundred pounds. Spending money would leave some trace, but unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have spent a single penny after leaving. I strongly suspect this is the young master trying to mislead us.
“Very well, but this only proves our incompetence,” Genes said bluntly.
“But we’ve sealed off a hundred kilometers around here, and there are no clues,” Anna said. “Unless the young master is hiding in the sewers.”
“That’s impossible.” Genes immediately dismissed the guess. “It’s just running away from home, not running for your life. There’s no need to go to such extremes.”
"Wait!" Genes suddenly realized something. "Since we've ruled out both above-ground and underground routes, the only possible route for the young master is probably through the sky."
Chapter 127 A Speculation Very Close to the Truth
"But how did the young master leave?" Anna asked, puzzled. "He's not an Animagus, so it's impossible for him to leave unnoticed by Muggles."
Furthermore, the Ministry of Magic prohibits minors from using magic in the Muggle world, and the young master is well aware of this, so he won't intentionally reveal it.
"Even if there were a flying device, young master wouldn't use it in broad daylight; that would be too conspicuous."
"But it doesn't make sense to say that the young master waited until night to use the flying device. At our search speed, he couldn't possibly hide until night, and..." Number Four paused for a moment, then continued, "And most importantly, I carefully inventoried all the magical items in the castle, and I didn't find any flying devices missing."
Upon hearing this, Genes's lips curled into a bitter smile. "An intelligence blunder?"
Flying doesn't necessarily require props; it also requires magical creatures.
He knew perfectly well that the young master had raised a white dragon, and that it could control its size at will. In the enormous form that Abe had flattened in the armory, carrying a person for a long distance was no problem at all.
"Boss, what do you mean by this?"
“It’s nothing, Deka. I just suddenly remembered that the young master has his own flying device,” Genes said awkwardly. “It’s understandable that you didn’t know, but I actually overlooked it too.”
The six people looked at each other and fell silent.
In order to find the young master, they sealed off an area of 100 kilometers in radius. However, if the other party has flying devices, then this blockade will not be of much use. As long as they find an opportunity, the young master will definitely be able to escape from this area.
After a long pause, Anna finally raised her question, "Boss, even if the young master has a flying device, he can only use it at night. How did he manage to evade our search during the day?"
"Besides, we don't have any records of the young master's spending. He can't possibly starve himself for a whole day just to hide it; that would be too extreme."
“It’s not impossible,” Genes said with a wry smile. “This was a premeditated runaway. Yesterday morning, the young master and Abe were almost starving. They ate more than twice their usual amount of food, and it was all high-calorie food. That energy was enough to last him for several more meals.”
As for how he avoided our sight? Didn't you just say that yourself?
Anna paused, her expression becoming somewhat unnatural. "It can't really be a sewer, can it?"
“Who knows?
But waiting in the sewers for more than ten hours, and then using a flying device to get far away after dark, is the only thing I can think of.
"If you were the young masters, would you have a better idea?"
"Could the young master do the opposite and hide in the sewers all along?"
Number Three suddenly spoke, but before he could finish speaking, he met six sharp gazes.
"Modo, can you think before you speak?" Genes said speechlessly. "Spending three days in the sewers like a rat is not as good as staying at home and attending tutoring classes."
Even if they can survive one or two meals without eating, can they really go three days without eating?
When they become too hungry to stand it anymore, they will come out to buy food, which means they will be right under our noses.
What do you think the young master is trying to achieve by doing this? To experience what it's like to be starving? Or do you think the young master's intelligence is only at your level?
"I apologize, Lord Genes." Mordo chuckled awkwardly. "It was a slip of the tongue, purely a slip of the tongue."
Genes snorted and turned to the others, "Don't be so at a loss. Think carefully about where the young master might be."
Including today, we have two days left. Not much, but not little either.
"Sigh!" Dika sighed. "Lord Genes, it's not that we don't want to find the young master, but the search area is too vast, far beyond what we should be concerned with."
We can now be certain that the young master has broken out of our blockade; otherwise, we wouldn't have been completely without any clues.
His travel expenses are more than enough for three days of expenses, and if the young master wants, he can even treat this runaway as a spontaneous trip.
