During Quidditch matches, almost the entire school's faculty and students went to the pitch. He only caught chickens after making sure no one was around.
Even when returning to the dormitory, he was quite careful to use Abe's sense of smell to cleverly avoid the very few people in the castle who hadn't gone to watch the game.
"Which direction is the basilisk?" Aaron asked in the dragon language.
Abe hesitated for a moment, then pointed behind Aaron with his paw, "Right around that corner, it's quietly waiting for its prey to approach."
Aaron paused for a moment, then quickly regained his composure as if he had thought of something, and continued to walk forward.
It turned out that he hadn't revealed a weakness, but rather that he had coincidentally stood next to the basilisk's target.
That makes sense, though; he's a pure-blood wizard, and the basilisk has no reason to kill him.
Colin, being from a Muggle family, was its prime target.
If he pretends not to know anything and leaves now, there shouldn't be any danger, but it's hard to say about Colin.
Aaron didn't have any ill feelings towards this first-year Gryffindor, nor did he want to watch him die, but he also dared not gamble on the basilisk's patience.
What if it couldn't resist and took him, the pure-blood wizard, with it? After all, the book says it's a cruel creature.
In that instant, two little figures appeared in Aaron's mind.
A figure named Morality, with a white halo above his head and a book in his hand.
A creature named Selfish, with black wings on its back and a dark red trident in its hand.
"Stop him, stop him quickly."
This is a vibrant life; he's only a year younger than you.
"Hurry up and go, no, run! Don't look back!"
You're not related to him at all; there's no need to take such a big risk.
"Shut up!" Morality shouted. "It's one thing to not know, but if you do know, you can't turn a blind eye. If you can't even hold onto your bottom line, you'll lose yourself sooner or later."
"If a person doesn't look out for himself, he'll be punished by heaven and earth."
Nothing in this world is more precious than one's own life.
Do you want him to live with a guilty conscience forever?
"I don't want to, but I know that when a person dies, everything is gone."
Choosing life over conscience is human nature; this child was just unlucky.
Besides, he doesn't owe Colin anything, and he'll avenge him soon.
"Ah... I'll fight you to the death."
The morally corrupt man picked up the book and rushed over; on the cover were two large, gleaming gold characters: Kindness.
"I'm not afraid of you."
The selfish villain let out a cacophony of laughter and raised his trident to meet the attack.
The two villains fought in a particularly crude manner, with every punch landing hard, showing absolutely no martial ethics.
Gold and dark red flashed intermittently, and finally, the selfish villain pierced through the moral villain with a single halberd, winning the victory.
However, the selfish villain was also seriously injured, lying on the ground barely alive, his wings were tattered, and especially his face was branded with two large golden characters by the Book of Kindness.
"I won. Listen to me, survival is the priority."
Aaron: ......
If those two words weren't on your face, I might have actually listened to you.
Coming to his senses, Aaron couldn't help but shake his head, shattering those jumbled thoughts.
The ancestor Flo said that when faced with something you can't decide, this is how you solve it. It doesn't seem as good as flipping a coin!
"Colin, wait a minute," Aaron said with his back to him. He dared not turn around now, lest he be doomed if he met those two big yellow eyes.
"Senior, is there something you need?"
"Hmm... I think you could take a few more photos for Harry to take with you. As far as I know, he doesn't seem to have any photos of Hogwarts yet. Maybe he'll be so happy that he'll give you a few autographed ones!"
"Really?" Colin asked excitedly.
“It’s absolutely true. If you take pictures along the way, it will show your sincerity even more.”
"Thank you, senior."
Colin immediately picked up his camera, closed one eye, and struck a pose for taking a picture, but his speed didn't change much.
As he turned the corner, a bright light flashed, followed by a sharp cry.
A moment later, Aaron heard a sound like flowing water, which grew farther and farther away.
"Have they left yet?"
Abe nodded. "Let's go."
Aaron breathed a sigh of relief and quickly turned around to walk to Colin's side.
He was pale, his body stiff, and he stood motionless in place.
Fortunately, his left eye was closed, and although his right eye was squinting, there was a camera in between.
Although he was petrified because he didn't make direct eye contact with the basilisk, at least he survived and can be saved once the mandrake matures.
"Sigh! They're so easy to fool, no, they're ridiculously naive."
I'm sorry, I'm not prepared at all, this is the only way I can save your life.
"Please bear with me for now, I promise I will save you."
"My God!" Professor McGonagall rushed over and looked at Colin, who was frozen in place. Her face turned extremely pale. "How could this happen?"
"Mr. Gaius, this has nothing to do with you, does it?"
"Of course it's okay, Colin and I parted ways in the front aisle."
But a moment later I heard his scream, and that's when I ran over. "Aaron said with a wry smile, vaguely feeling like he had a burden on his back.
"Minerva." Dumbledore's voice came from the stairs. He walked over to Colin and carefully examined her. "She's petrified, but not in immediate danger!"
“Mr. Gaius, you…”
"Headmaster Dumbledore, do you doubt me?"
“No, Mr. Gaius, I said there’s no proof of innocence,” Dumbledore said calmly. “I just want to ask you for a favor: get Colin to the school hospital.”
Chapter 164 Too many coincidences are no longer coincidences
School hospital.
Harry lay alone in the hospital bed, his right arm wrapped in thick bandages.
Although it was extremely agonizing, he could clearly feel the bones that had been removed growing back, which brought him some relief.
"Hello."
Two tennis ball-sized eyes suddenly appeared in front of Harry, startling him.
Dobby sat down at a table at the foot of the bed and said, with a wronged but serious expression, "Harry Potter should listen to Dobby. Harry Potter should go home if he misses the train."
"How did you know I missed the train?" Harry stared at Dobby suspiciously. "It was you. You were the one who sealed off the wall and prevented us from getting in."
Dobby nodded somewhat guiltily. "That's right, sir."
"You almost got me and Ron fired."
"At least it will get you away from here. Harry Potter must go home."
Dobby thought his ball-traveling device would surely make Harry Potter understand...
"Your wandering ball?" Harry instantly recalled what had happened on the field, his anger flaring up immediately. "You're the one who sent that wandering ball to chase me?"
Although Gryffindor didn't lose as badly today thanks to that wandering ball, it doesn't mean he should be grateful to Dobby. Nobody wants to be hit hard by a ten-inch iron ball.
Moreover, the iron ball was moving so fast; it was clearly aimed at his life.
Dobby just wanted Harry Potter to get hurt and then be sent home.
Harry angrily raised his bandaged arm. "You want me to be smashed to pieces, don't you!"
"You'd better get out of here before my bones heal completely, or I'll strangle you."
"Dobby absolutely did not mean to harm you," Dobby said in a panic. "Dobby remembers what everything was like before Harry Potter defeated that villain whose name cannot even be mentioned."
Keeping Pokémon as pets was considered a pest in our household, and Dobby is still considered a pest now.
As Dobby spoke, he recalled countless painful memories, covered his face with his burned hands and wept bitterly, then wiped his nose with his rotten, rancid clothes.
Seeing his expression, Harry calmed down and looked at him with some sympathy, asking, "Why are you wearing that, Dobby?"
"This is a symbol of Dobby's status as a house-elf slave. Dobby can only gain his freedom if his master gives him clothes."
Harry opened his mouth, but couldn't find the words to comfort him.
Although he and Lucius Malfoy had only met a few times, he seemed far more sinister than his son, and Dobby might never be able to escape the Malfoy household.
Just then, the sound of a door opening came from downstairs. Dobby immediately jumped to the window and whispered, "Something terrible is about to happen at Hogwarts. Harry Potter absolutely cannot stay here."
Because history is about to repeat itself, the secret room has been opened once again.
Harry wanted to ask something more, but the footsteps grew closer.
Dobby snapped his fingers immediately, his body turning into a wisp of smoke and disappearing. Harry quickly lay down on the bed, covering himself with the blanket and pretending to be asleep.
A moment later, Dumbledore came in, and behind him, Aaron and Professor McGonagall carefully carried Colin to a bed.
“Minerva,” Dumbledore said in a low voice, “go and call Ms. Pomfrey.”
Professor McGonagall nodded and quickly walked out of the room.
“Mr. Gaius, let’s have a good talk while we have this time.”
This isn't suspicion, but rather to clear your name, since you were the first to discover him, and there was no one else around.
Aaron pursed his lips, knowing he couldn't escape this round of questioning.
"Professor, please ask whatever you want."
