Wait a minute, it seems there's more than just Hogwarts in the wizarding world. Maybe I can try other magic schools sometime, and if they offer better value for money, I might as well transfer.
Aaron's thoughts raced, but he quickly dismissed the idea of transferring schools. Apart from Hogwarts, his freedom would be greatly restricted elsewhere; he might even be followed to the toilet, which would be a loss!
"Ahem! Um... I don't like showing off."
If you're going to have to confront them, you should tell Dumbledore.
Remember, you're the ones who found all of this out; whatever you do, don't mention my name.
“This isn’t appropriate!” Ron said hesitantly.
He admitted he was somewhat tempted; this was a huge achievement, even greater than the Academy Cup.
He will become a hero at Hogwarts, and his parents and brothers will look at him with new respect.
However, this was a clue that Aaron had painstakingly uncovered, and he wouldn't stoop so low as to steal the fruits of someone else's labor.
Hermione shook her head as well. "That's really not appropriate. We haven't been able to help you at all."
“No, believe me, this is appropriate, very appropriate,” Aaron said very seriously. “You guys get the limelight, and I get the low profile I wanted. It’s a win-win situation for us.”
"Of course, if you don't want to, I can go to Draco, trust him..."
“I agree,” Ron said immediately.
Given the choice between shamelessly accepting Aaron's gift and watching Malfoy steal the spotlight, he would undoubtedly choose the former without hesitation.
Besides, things haven't gotten that serious yet!
"Okay, then it's such a happy decision."
The three of them followed the students back to their respective common lounges.
A short while later, a message came out.
Ravenclaw Prefect Penelope Crivart was attacked, but like the previous cases, she was petrified and not in mortal danger.
She was lucky; she happened to be holding a mirror, which may have been an indirect eye contact with the basilisk.
Professor Snape himself came to the Slytherin common room. He looked no different than usual, without the tense atmosphere that usually evokes a sense of impending doom.
"As you all know, another attack has occurred."
Although I don't think Slytherin is in any danger, since everyone here is a pure-blood wizard.
As soon as he finished speaking, the students in the common room all smiled knowingly.
As the saying goes, "If it doesn't concern you, don't bother with it."
The fire wouldn't reach them, so Slytherin felt much safer than the other three houses.
“However, Dumbledore has established the following new rules,” Professor Snape said calmly. “All students must be back in the common room by six o’clock, and no student may leave the dormitory after that time.”
All students must be accompanied by a teacher during class and may not use the restrooms without a teacher's supervision.
All training and matches have been postponed, and no further activities will be held in the evenings.
“This is unnecessary,” Draco said unhappily. “It also hinders the development of Slytherin.”
"I also think this is unfair to Slytherin, Malfoy."
However, this was, after all, the headmaster's order, and Dumbledore worried that if things escalated, Hogwarts might have to close down.
"He's probably worried about losing his position as principal!"
"My dad always said that having Dumbledore as headmaster was the worst thing that ever happened to Hogwarts." Draco said without any restraint, while Crabbe and Goyle behind him let out disdainful sneers.
"Ahem!" Aaron coughed, giving him a warning look. "Draco, I have to tell you a reality."
You are now a student, and Dumbledore is the headmaster.
Draco pursed his lips and refrained from further mockery.
Snape gave Aaron an approving look. "The regulations I just mentioned will take effect immediately. I don't want you to take them lightly; it's for your own safety."
......
As evening approached, Aaron finished feeding the two roosters in the cage and then planned to practice advanced magic circles.
But the sudden knocking on the door made him temporarily abandon the idea.
"come in!"
The door opened, but no one was there.
A moment later, the sound of curtains rustling filled the air, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione emerged from the Invisibility Cloak.
"Holy crap." Aaron rolled his eyes, speechless. "I have to admit, you guys have repeatedly shattered my expectations. To actually come see me this way? Even if the school is under martial law, this is ridiculous!"
"We're planning to go find Hagrid."
"Then go ahead!" Aaron looked at Harry, both amused and exasperated. "I'm not going to stop you."
“We want you to come with us,” Harry explained. “Time is of the essence. Professor McGonagall said that Hogwarts will have to close unless the culprit is found.”
"So what? What does this have to do with whether or not I'm called?"
“But it’s not awkward for either of us with you here,” Hermione said shyly. “Otherwise, we’d be too embarrassed to ask him.”
"Oh!" Aaron suddenly realized and chuckled, "You guys have really had it tough."
However, don't get your hopes up too high. Hagrid was clearly wronged fifty years ago, and he doesn't have any valuable leads.
“Every little bit counts!” Harry said urgently. “We must find the Chamber of Secrets and stop the Heir from committing murder again.”
"Let's talk about it tomorrow, there's no need to rush."
“No, you don’t understand how serious this is,” Harry said bitterly. “Once Hogwarts closes, I’ll have to go back to the Vernon family.”
There's no warmth of home there for me; I'll be homeless.
Aaron was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly. "Alright! What can I say? I'm a kind person!"
Upon hearing this, all three showed a hint of joy on their faces.
“Wait, there’s one more problem.” Hermione suddenly realized something, her expression changing slightly. “The Invisibility Cloak is already barely enough to cover three people, it’s impossible for it to squeeze in four.”
Ron, however, looked at Abe and said, "It's not just four people; we'll probably have to add a pet too."
Chapter 182 The Ministry of Magic's Intervention
Harry looked troubled. The invisibility cloak couldn't hide four people, which meant that one of them couldn't go.
“How about I go back to the common room later?” Ron pursed his lips. “Although I’m reluctant to admit it, leaving me here is the most reasonable thing to do.”
Harry and Hermione exchanged a glance and nodded helplessly.
“No need for that,” Aaron said casually, then took a small glass bottle from Abe’s pocket. “The last of the invisibility potion is enough for a round trip.”
“Great, let’s go now!” Harry said excitedly, then put on the Invisibility Cloak and covered Ron and Hermione with it.
Aaron shrugged and fed himself and Abe a bite.
After learning the Disillusionment Spell, this potion became useless to him—tasteless to use, but a pity to throw away.
But we'll keep as much as we can; tonight will be the night the bottle runs dry.
The group carefully made their way through the corridor, avoiding the patrolling prefects, professors, and ghosts in the darkness.
After leaving the castle, Aaron and Abe exited their invisibility state, while Harry and the others remained hidden inside their invisibility cloaks, too afraid to come out.
“Is it really that serious?
Don't you feel uncomfortable walking like that?
"Safety first," Harry's voice came through the air. "I think you and Abel should also keep invisible, just in case the Basilisk targets you."
Aaron rolled his eyes, ignored him, and carried Abe forward on his own.
“Aaron, you should know the saying ‘better safe than sorry’!” Hermione reminded her. “It’s never a bad thing to be cautious.”
"First of all, Abe is a universal radar; I am absolutely confident that I can escape before the basilisk arrives."
Secondly, you've already experienced the intensity of the patrols. At this point, the heir to Slytherin should be trapped in the Gryffindor common room and unable to get out.
Unable to escape, the basilisk could only obediently remain in the secret chamber.
Finally, we have three purebloods here; the basilisk only targets lone or group-based Muggle-born wizards.
"In other words, we're still safe now," Aaron explained patiently, but Harry showed no intention of taking off the Invisibility Cloak, as if only the robe could provide them with warmth in the quiet night.
They didn't dare to come out until they saw the pale yellow lights at the edge of the forbidden forest.
Hagrid knocked for about ten seconds before opening the door.
He looked very nervous, and as he opened the door, he aimed his crossbow at the entrance. Only after seeing the people inside did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"Why are you here?" Hagrid asked, puzzled. "Never mind, come in first, I'll make you some tea."
After they sat down, they noticed that Hagrid's body was trembling and he was clearly distracted, not even noticing that the tea had spilled from his cup.
"Hagrid, are you alright?" Harry asked with concern.
"It's okay, I'm perfectly fine."
“If things were going well, this wouldn’t have happened,” Aaron asked meaningfully. “What are you worried about?”
"No, it's nothing," Hagrid chuckled awkwardly. "I'll go cut the cake for you!"
"Wait a minute, Hagrid." Harry quickly stopped Hagrid. "We have something to ask you, about the Chamber of Secrets."
Hagrid paused for a moment, then turned to Aaron and asked, "Did you tell them?"
“I didn’t tell them; they found out on their own.”
"Although the process was somewhat convoluted and bizarre, they know everything I know," Aaron said helplessly. "They're looking for you to find out if you have any other clues, even if they're not important."
"It's clear you're really pushed to the limit, but you need to understand..."
Before the words were finished, there was a knock on the door, followed by the barking of a dog.
"Quickly put on your cloaks." Hagrid glanced at the doorway and immediately lowered his voice, "You guys hide and don't say a word."
The group immediately did as instructed; Harry, Hermione, and Ron hid under the Invisibility Cloak.
Aaron sighed regretfully, divided the remaining invisibility potion into two portions, and the two of them, one human and one dragon, drank it all.
