Only when humans reign will Narnia prosper.
Before the words were even finished, Nikabuli couldn't take it anymore. "He's a Tanmo, and you want him to be our king?"
Others also objected, and their angry shouts came one after another.
“Because I can help you,” Caspian suddenly said, his cursing subsiding slightly.
"Outside this forest, I am a prince, and the throne of Tanmo belongs to me."
"Help me preserve my throne, and I will grant us peace."
“It’s true, the time is ripe.” The centaur leader stepped forward; he was highly respected among the Narnias, and the others tacitly remained silent.
"I observe the celestial phenomena; I am responsible for observing them, just as the badger is responsible for remembering them."
"Tawa and Alambi are close together in the sky, and now a son of humanity has come to restore our freedom."
"Is this possible? Do you really believe there will be peace?"
Caspian looked at the talking squirrels in the tree and forced a smile. "Two days ago, I didn't believe that there were talking animals in the world, or dwarves, or centaurs... but now you have appeared here in a number that we Tanmo people never expected."
As he spoke, Caspian took out the horn. "Whether this horn has magic or not, it brings us together and unites us in cooperation."
We will have the opportunity to take back what is rightfully ours.
Swish!
The man drew his longsword and held it in front of him. "If you lead us, then my son and I are willing to serve you like dogs and horses."
Other Narnias also raised their weapons to show their stance.
“We will serve you wholeheartedly,” the mouse said, bowing to Caspian.
“Miraz’s army is not far from us, Your Majesty,” Badger reminded us.
“If we want to fight them, we need to find soldiers and weapons quickly,” Caspian said earnestly. “I believe they will arrive soon.”
Chapter 431 A Different Kind of Wilderness Life, Lucy's Dream
Belluna.
Dozens or even hundreds of workers are cutting down trees here, and the planed wood is all sent to a bridge that is not yet completed.
The bridge is half completed and is continuously extending towards the other side.
A row of catapults was neatly arranged here, and several military camps were stationed not far away, filled with fully armed soldiers and herds of warhorses.
Aaron and his companions, hiding in the woods, couldn't help but feel worried upon witnessing these scenes.
"Still diving?" Aaron shook his head at Chuanbujin. "I'm afraid we'll be shot to death by arrows before we even get halfway there, and then it'll all be over."
“I didn’t expect them to act so quickly.” Chuanbukin said gravely. “Miraz may have mobilized all available manpower. In addition to wanting to kill Caspian, he also wants to completely destroy Narnia.”
“It’s clear that once this bridge is completed, the Tanmo soldiers will launch their attack.” Aaron sighed slightly. “Let’s go back first. I’ll go down the cliff first, and then we’ll figure out a way to bring you down.”
"That's all we can do for now," Peter said.
The group returned to the cliff. Aaron took a deep breath and put his cloak and food bag aside, but he still carried the gun with him.
"Are you sure there's no problem?" Susan asked with some doubt.
"No, I'll show you what real technology is next," Aaron said nonchalantly.
The cliff is only a few dozen meters high. With his current physical condition, he could jump off without getting hurt, let alone climb down. Moreover, there is a river below to buffer the fall, so his safety is absolutely guaranteed.
Aaron took a deep breath, walked to the edge of the cliff, and just as he was about to find a suitable starting point, his foot slipped and he suddenly fell.
boom!
The sound of something landing rang out, and the group was shocked, quickly running forward.
"It's okay, don't worry."
Aaron patted the dirt off his clothes and said in a strong voice.
He had thought the cliff had collapsed and was about to use magic, but unexpectedly, a flat boulder below caught him steadily.
“I think I don’t need to climb anymore, there’s a path right here.” Aaron pointed to the bottom of the boulder, where a winding, simple path led directly to the bottom of the cliff.
“I knew Aslan wouldn’t let me jump off the cliff,” Lucy said happily. “He wanted us to walk down this path; he happened to be on the other side of this boulder.”
The group exchanged glances, tacitly avoiding the topic.
They carefully descended to the bottom of the cliff, slowly advanced along the river, found a relatively safe path, and laboriously climbed to the Trembling Forest on the other side of the cliff.
Just then, dusk fell, and Peter lit a fire and told everyone to rest where they were.
Aaron took out his food bag and retrieved the last portion of rations.
He endured five days' worth of food, a mere three days' worth; only he knew the hardships he endured.
"Canned meat, ham and cheese sandwiches... could that bottle contain a cocktail?!"
The others watched as Aaron took out one food item after another wrapped in tin foil, and their mouths twitched involuntarily.
With such a lavish meal, are they here for camping or a vacation?
"Don't be shy, you guys have some too!" Aaron said seriously, handing out a few wild fruits from his bag to them. "These were found at the ruins of the Kelparavel Palace. They don't taste very good, but they're still nutritious."
“Logically, we should express our gratitude, but you…” Peter looked at the red and green wild berries in his hand, then at the food full of calories in Aaron’s hand, and the contrast immediately became apparent.
"No buts, just eat it!" Susan interrupted. "It'll at least replenish your energy, which is better than nothing."
Peter nodded silently and began munching on wild berries with his younger siblings.
A dozen minutes later, Aaron let out a satisfied burp.
He spread a pile of leaves on the ground, then laid his cloak on top of the leaves, used a relatively neat stone wrapped in a food bag as a pillow, and then lay down comfortably on this makeshift bed.
Goodnight, everyone.
Susan, Edmund, and Lucy all turned their attention to Peter.
Look at them, they can live so comfortably even in the wild.
Our three younger siblings had close contact with the earth. As the eldest brother, don't you feel guilty?
"Uh... I don't think we're so fragile that we can't even handle this little bit of hardship!" Peter chuckled awkwardly.
The three of them exchanged a glance, then helplessly lay down on the grass around the fire.
......
Early the next morning.
Lucy opened her eyes, turned to look at her sister beside her, and whispered, "Susan, wake up."
"No problem, Lulu, you can do whatever you want," Susan mumbled sleepily, then turned over and went back to sleep.
“It seems your sister needs to rest a bit more,” Aaron laughed. “I didn’t expect you to be the first one to wake up.”
"When did you wake up?"
"Six o'clock!"
My biological clock wakes me up at this time every day.
Lucy nodded slightly, her gaze filled with curiosity. "Who... exactly are you?"
"Don't you already know? Just an ordinary fifteen-year-old boy."
Lucy paused for a moment, then scoffed, "You're the one who's anything but ordinary!"
"This is what Aslan told me; I just dreamt about him."
"Huh?" Aaron's heart skipped a beat, but he didn't show any nervousness on his face. "What did he say about me?"
He said you are very capable and trustworthy, but you are a little too shrewd.
"The rating is pretty fair," Aaron thought to himself, 100% certain that Aslan was still alive and well, secretly observing their every move.
"What else did he say?"
“You said… just come with me, I’ll take you to see him,” Lucy said, then pulled Aaron into the depths of the woods.
The two walked through grass and bushes along a path for over twenty minutes, but did not see the lion.
"He was here in my dream."
“Uh… there are some differences between dreams and reality.” Aaron said speechlessly. “I believe in his existence, and I believe you won’t lie to me, but you can’t guarantee that he will be waiting for you in the same place after he visits you in your dream.”
Lucy was speechless when a low growl suddenly came from not far away.
“Athrun.” Lucy was overjoyed, thinking Athrun was right there.
"Don't go yet," Aaron hurriedly stopped her. "It might not be Aslan. There are plenty of wild animals in the forest. Don't forget about that black bear."
Lucy calmed down and cautiously peeked her head out.
She saw a bull-man patrolling with a giant axe, which frightened her so much that she immediately pulled her head back.
"Is that a human-bull?" Aaron became interested. Although the human-bull was smaller than the giant, its combat strength should not be weaker than the giant.
"Shh!" Lucy made a shushing gesture and said in a low voice, "He is an enemy. His clan served the White Witch hundreds of years ago."
“You said it yourself, it was hundreds of years ago.” Aaron waved his hand. “Narnia today can’t afford internal strife. Unity and a united front against external threats are the key.”
"You mean they are now..."
Before Lucy could finish speaking, a figure rushed past them—it was her older brother, Peter.
“Wait, Peter,” Lucy called out hastily.
Peter paused, then stopped what he was doing, puzzled.
But the next moment, Caspian suddenly appeared from the side and started fighting Peter without saying a word.
The longswords clashed, producing a metallic clang.
The two were evenly matched in strength, but each considered the other an enemy and held nothing back.
Peter was slightly better at swordsmanship and knocked the longsword out of Caspian's hand in just a few moves, but when he tried to slash horizontally, the sword struck a tree and he couldn't pull it out.
Caspian acted swiftly, kicking him away, turning around and grabbing Peter's longsword, intending to draw it.
Peter got up from the ground, picked up a brick, and was about to smash it against Caspian's head.
