"Where's the list?"
“That’s a joke. The education order clearly states that gatherings are not allowed. Do you think the list is still useful?” Aaron scoffed. “Besides, Marietta signed it too. Wouldn’t it be better to just ask her directly?”
"Nonsense, their autographs are quite different from what Marietta told me."
Aaron smiled without saying a word. You understand this principle, so why did you naively think that I would hand over the list to you?
Umbridge was slow to realize what was happening, but now she was in a difficult position. "Dumbledore, as a senior investigator, I believe I have the right to look at that list."
“Mr. Gaius,” Dumbledore sighed helplessly, “Give me the honor of giving her the list!”
“Professor Dumbledore, I will certainly give you face.” Aaron grinned, then looked at Fudge. “Minister, I hope you can make a promise that none of the people on the list have ever attended the party. I don’t want anyone to cause them trouble afterward.”
Fudge was a little confused, but seeing Umbridge constantly giving him meaningful glances, he nodded. "I promise."
Aaron breathed a sigh of relief and took out the list.
Umbridge eagerly unfolded the parchment, but instead of looking at the names, she focused her gaze on the two letters 'DA' in the middle of the first line.
“Mr. Gaius,” her lips curled into a wide grin, “could you explain what DA means?”
Defenses Association.
“No, this is Dumbledore’s Army,” Umbridge laughed. “Miss Eckmore told me that Dumbledore’s Army is the real name.”
Cornelius, I think you understand what I mean. Dumbledore is trying to organize an army in order to seize power within the ministry.
Although he didn't succeed, he did have that intention.
Fudge's eyes brightened slightly, and a smile curved his lips. "Dumbledore, it seems you really are plotting against the Ministry of Magic."
Dumbledore paused for a moment, then shook his head with an embarrassed smile. "You figured it out. I am indeed very dissatisfied with the current state of the Ministry of Magic, but I haven't had a chance to take action yet!"
“It will be too late once you take action,” Fudge scoffed. “I have the right to arrest you right now.”
Chapter 483 Dumbledore, still vigorous in his old age, goes to the university hospital to lay low.
“Weasley, send an owl to the Daily Prophet. Maybe we can make it onto the front page tomorrow morning.” Fudge was so excited he was practically jumping for joy, it was like he wanted to pop open a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
He had given up hope, but Umbridge gave him such a dramatic turn of events. What's even more amazing is that Dumbledore actually admitted that he wanted to harm the Ministry of Magic.
That alone is enough to get him arrested and sent to Azkaban. As for how long he'll be imprisoned, that's up to him, the minister, to decide.
"Wait a minute." Aaron hurriedly stopped Percy, and quietly took his wand back from his pocket, though no one at the scene noticed.
"Is there a problem, Mr. Gaius?" Fudge looked at Aaron with an unfriendly expression. If Aaron dared to side with Dumbledore at this time, then Fudge would have no choice but to turn against him.
“Don’t misunderstand, Minister Fudge,” Aaron said with a forced smile, waving his hand. “I won’t object to your decision, but I don’t want my name to appear in the Daily Prophet.”
You know I don't want to be famous.
"Oh, no problem, of course no problem."
"Weasley, tell the newspaper to polish this article. You know what to say."
“Yes, sir, I understand.” Percy ran quickly out of the principal’s office and slammed the door shut behind him.
"Delhi, Shackleton, you two escort Dumbledore to Azkaban."
He was there awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy and rebellion.
"A brainless idiot," Aaron thought to himself. He couldn't understand where Fudge got the courage to say such a thing in front of Dumbledore.
Dumbledore was a top-tier archmage and Voldemort's most feared White Lord.
If he's unwilling, let alone a few archmages, even ten times more wouldn't be a match for him.
"Ah! I expected to run into this little trouble." Dumbledore's expression remained unchanged, and he even seemed to want to laugh. "You all seem to have this misconception that I would... what was it again?"
"Surrender," Aaron said speechlessly.
Yes, that's the word.
"I'm getting old, and my memory is failing," Dumbledore said. "Cornelly, I'm sorry, but I have no desire to go to Azkaban."
Of course, I could escape, but it would be a waste of time.
To be frank, I have a lot of other things to do, and I'd rather spend my time on those.
Hearing this, Fudge was somewhat incredulous.
Dumbledore had always been a kind-hearted man in his mind, but he never expected that this kind-hearted man would resist the Ministry of Magic's actions.
Of course, he subconsciously overlooked Dumbledore's strength, since he had hardly ever seen Dumbledore make a move since he took office.
"You're planning to take on Delilah, Shackleton, Dolores, and me all by yourself, are you?" Fudge sneered. "Do you think that's possible?"
Dumbledore chuckled easily. "Unless you force me to do it."
“He’s not the only one,” Professor McGonagall said, one hand already inside her robes, ready to draw her wand.
“No, it’s just him,” Dumbledore said seriously. “Minerva, Hogwarts needs you.”
“You’ve had enough.” Fudge drew his wand. “Grab him.”
The next moment, several beams of light danced in the office, and the spells cast by Fudge and his companions were easily broken by Dumbledore.
Explosions rang out one after another, and the entire room shook continuously.
Smoke and dust filled the air, and sharp screams mingled with the sounds of people falling to the ground. Finally, as the sound of shattering glass ceased, Fudge and his three companions lay sprawled on the ground.
Professor McGonagall protected Marietta in the chaos of battle, while Aaron, carrying Abe, retreated to the front door the moment the fight began.
Snapped!Snapped!Snapped!
"Headmaster, you're truly amazing for your age!" Aaron clapped his hands and exclaimed. "You took care of four archmages in less than half a minute. No wonder Voldemort was so wary of you!"
Dumbledore's lips twitched. "Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Gaius."
"Minerva, are you alright?!"
“It’s alright.” Professor McGonagall said, helping Marietta up. The Ravenclaw had never seen anything like this before; her face was deathly pale, and she was too frightened to speak.
Dumbledore looked at the bald wizard lying on the ground. "It's a shame I had to cast a spell on Kingsley, otherwise it would have been too suspicious."
"Alright, I should go now."
They'll wake up soon, so you'd better make it look convincing.
"Where are you going, Dumbledore?" Professor McGonagall asked. "Grimmauld Street?"
"No, I need to figure some things out."
"It won't be long before Fudge thinks, 'I'm glad I wasn't kicked out of Hogwarts.'" Dumbledore said. "Also, Mr. Gaius, there's something I need to ask of you."
Aaron's heart skipped a beat, and he regretted hiding too far away earlier. He should have tried to run into a curse.
Lying on the floor may not look elegant, but at least it's comfortable!
"Principal, please tell me what you need. I'll definitely help if it's within my capabilities," Aaron said righteously, implying that people shouldn't bother him with anything beyond his abilities.
"Uh... could you please send a message to Harry, telling him to do his best to learn Occlumency, especially before he goes to sleep every night?"
"You hope he doesn't have nightmares?" Aaron asked meaningfully.
“Yes.” Dumbledore nodded gently, then grasped Fawkes’ golden tail feathers.
A flash of light, and they disappeared from the office.
At that moment, Dexter moved his fingers, and Fudge, Kingsley, and Umbridge also showed signs of waking up.
"Collapsed."
Aaron cast a spell, and a pale white light swept across the four of them like a sound wave, causing them to close their eyes again.
"What are you doing?" Professor McGonagall asked, frowning.
“Wait a moment.” Aaron took a deep breath, walked up to Umbridge, and slowly raised his right hand.
Snap! Snap! Snap...
He slapped Umbridge more than twenty times across the face until it was several times its original size, then he disgustedly shook his right hand away.
"You're shameless; my hand hurts from hitting you like that."
Umbridge seemed to feel a throbbing pain in his face, and his eyelids twitched slightly.
Before he could even open his eyes, a white light covered his face, and he fell into a coma again.
Professor McGonagall and Marietta stared in disbelief at the scene. "Mr. Gaius, you, you, this isn't a good thing to do!"
"Professor, didn't you stop them?"
Honestly, I've been putting up with her for a long time. I thank Dumbledore for giving me this chance to get back at her.
"But..."
"No buts, this was all Dumbledore's doing, it has nothing to do with us," Aaron said seriously. "There's still time, why don't you come over and kick it a couple of times?"
Professor McGonagall was inexplicably tempted; she had disliked Umbridge for a long time.
But considering his role as a teacher, he suppressed his feelings.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Professor McGonagall feigned anger. "I'm a professor, how could I do such a thing?"
“Alright! I hope you don’t regret it later.” Aaron shrugged, then looked at Marietta. “To prevent problems within DA, Draco suggested I recruit a few Slytherins, but I didn’t agree.”
But I never imagined there would be a traitor among the Ravenclaws. If I hadn't added an extra layer of protection to that list, you would have ruined thirty students."
"Yes, I'm sorry," Marietta's voice trembled, tears falling to the ground one by one. "I didn't want this to happen, but my mother..."
"Forget it, no need to explain. Even if you did, I wouldn't believe you," Aaron said impatiently, then gave Abe a wink.
Holy Dragon immediately understood and jumped in front of Marietta with displeasure.
"What are you doing?" Marietta took a few steps back nervously.
"I'll treat your face!" Aaron said speechlessly. "If you don't want to, then forget it."
Marietta paused for a moment, then stood still, suppressing her fear.
A hint of human mockery appeared in Abe's eyes, but she still treated Aaron's face as he had instructed.
Under the white light, the purple pustules on her face shrank rapidly, turning into gas and evaporating in just over ten seconds.
Marietta touched her face in disbelief, her eyes shining with admiration as she looked at Abe. "Thank you."
