Halfway through reciting the Crucifixion, Aaron reached into his pocket, but before he could pull out his wand, Hermione shouted, "Tell her, Harry!"
"Tell me what?" Umbridge asked in surprise. She had almost forgotten that there were two people in the hearth. Harry was stubborn, but Hermione might not be so tight-lipped.
The others stared at her in astonishment, seemingly unable to believe that she had betrayed them so easily.
“If you don’t tell me where it is, then I will.”
"It?" Aaron raised an eyebrow, asking in confusion, "What do you mean by 'it'?"
Hermione took a deep breath and said with difficulty, "Dumbledore's secret weapon."
Aaron's lips twitched, Ron, Ginny, and the others all breathed a sigh of relief, expressing high praise for Hermione's level of fabrication, while Umbridge almost jumped up excitedly when she heard the word 'weapon'.
"A weapon to resist the Ministry of Magic, right?"
I knew Dumbledore was plotting something behind the scenes. What was that weapon?
“We don’t really know what it is either,” Hermione said, sobbing, but without shedding a single tear.
Upon hearing this, Umbridge became even more excited.
Not quite sure? That's to be right. If even a fifth-year wizard knew what weapon Dumbledore was preparing, then her worries would be unfounded.
Where is that weapon?
“In…” Hermione trembled and stammered, “In the Forbidden Forest.”
hiss!
Aaron gasped. He seemed to understand what Hermione meant by the weapon. "Hermione, I'm warning you, this is no joke!"
"I... there's nothing I can do about it."
"It seems Mr. Gaius is also aware of the existence of this weapon?" Umbridge said meaningfully. "Then I think it's necessary to inform the minister; I believe he will be interested."
"That's really unnecessary," Aaron said with a forced smile.
"Then take me to find that weapon."
"That probably won't work. That weapon... let's just call it a weapon for now!"
It's dangerous, extremely dangerous.
“You think I’m afraid?” Umbridge scoffed. “You two, no, you three, come with me.”
As the principal, I will protect you all.
Aaron: ......
If you're going to keep hostages, just keep them. Why make it sound so high and mighty?
“You guys stay here.” Umbridge looked at the investigation team, then pointed to Ron and his group. “Don’t let these guys get away.”
“Yes, Professor,” Monta replied.
......
Forbidden forest.
Aaron, Hermione, and Harry led the way, while Umbridge followed cautiously behind, her right hand gripping her wand tightly.
"Professor, to be honest, the Forbidden Forest is so dangerous, you shouldn't have taken our wands away," Aaron said speechlessly.
“I know my limits,” Umbridge sneered. “Wandless spellcasting is indeed remarkable, but you should know that there is a big difference between having a wand and not having one.”
Aaron curled his lip in disdain. That would certainly be true for most people, but given his proficiency in wandless spellcasting, a wand was truly dispensable to him.
“How much further?” Umbridge asked angrily. “We’ve already gone very far.”
"Not far, almost there." Hermione walked quickly through the dark forest clearing, skirting the thick tree roots. "It must be in a place where students won't easily find it."
Umbridge didn't doubt it, but she really couldn't hold on any longer.
Her pink sweater was torn by thorns, and her short legs were struggling to move. She wasn't even this tired on the day she cleaned up the fireworks.
"Ah oh!"
Aaron stopped and looked at a rope tied to a tree not far away, his expression becoming incredibly interesting.
Because the giant who should have been tied up here was gone; he remembered that Grop was still tied up properly the last time he came.
Hermione and Harry's expressions froze instantly. Gromp was gone; how were they going to explain this to Hagrid?
"What?" Umbridge pointed her wand at them coldly, seemingly realizing she might have been tricked. "Where are the weapons? There aren't any, are there?"
"It's not that we don't have them, it's that the weapons... are lost." Aaron scratched his head, feeling incredibly frustrated.
"Are you playing me?"
You know what? I hate kids the most.
"Um... I don't have time to joke with you. I have to go find him, otherwise the Forbidden Forest will be very lively."
"Stop!" Umbridge shouted. "Explain yourself before you leave."
"Don't point your wand at me, okay?" Aaron said impatiently. "I guarantee I won't be the one who comes out on the losing end if we fight."
Umbridge's lips twitched, and after a moment of stunned silence, she pointed her wand at Harry Potter. "Explain yourself now, or I can't guarantee his safety. This is the Forbidden Forest; even if something happens to you, I can explain it."
“That’s shameless enough.” Aaron chuckled. “But my relationship with Harry Potter isn’t so good that I’d go to great lengths for him. You can’t threaten me.”
Harry:......
That really hurts!
Umbridge looked completely bewildered. "Do you know what you're saying?"
"Do you know what you're doing, Umbridge?"
You're using a Gryffindor to threaten Slytherin? Nobody would believe that if they told anyone.
"Besides, you yourself said this is a forbidden forest. Students can have accidents, so why can't professors?" Aaron asked with a half-smile. "You just chased away the forest ranger last night, so it's quite normal for a few poachers to come, right?"
Umbridge's face shifted between bluish and purple. Who was threatening whom?
She didn't think Aaron, without his wand, was a match for her, but there were three students here after all, and she felt she was losing out even if it meant trading injury for life.
Suddenly, a whooshing sound rang out, followed by an arrow embedded in the tree trunk.
"what!"
Umbridge screamed and quickly hid behind the three of them.
A sound of horses' hooves approached, and the group looked in the direction of the sound to see dozens of horsemen galloping over, their bows and arrows poised to fire.
Umbridge took a step back, nervously pointing at the centaur Margaret who was in the lead. "This is none of your business, centaurs. This is a matter for the Ministry of Magic."
I am the Deputy Minister of Magic, Headmaster of Hogwarts, and Senior Investigator.
"What did Hagrid say when he left?" Aaron asked Hermione meaningfully.
“Oh!” Hermione raised an eyebrow. “It seems the Ministry of Magic is reducing the centaurs’ territory. I think it’s mentioned in some decree, and I believe it was issued by you, Professor Umbridge.”
Umbridge hesitated for a moment, but still mustered her courage and said, "Put down your weapons. I warn you, according to the law, you are beings with near-human intelligence..."
"Approaching human intelligence?" Margaret's face darkened. "Our intelligence far surpasses that of humans."
“This is an insult.” The centaur next to him nocked an arrow and prepared to shoot Umbridge.
"Wait a minute," Margaret interrupted.
"You're smart to know what's good for you." Umbridge thought his identity had intimidated them, and suddenly became fearless.
“Gaius, what is your relationship with her?” Margaret asked.
"The relationship between the principal and the students, and her coming here was purely accidental."
“I understand.” Margaret instantly understood, glancing calmly at Umbridge. “Human, what are you doing in our forest?”
“Your forest?” Umbridge’s voice held a hint of anger. “I must remind you that you are able to live here because the Ministry of Magic has allowed you to occupy certain territories.”
Aaron's lips twitched, and he hurriedly pulled Harry and Hermione aside to prevent them from getting splattered with blood if they started fighting.
Whoosh!
An arrow grazed Umbridge's scalp.
She instinctively raised her wand, and an invisible barrier blocked the arrow.
"How dare you, you filthy bastard, you lawless beast."
"Stop talking... um..." Hermione wanted her to stop humiliating the centaur, because things would get out of hand if things escalated.
But before she could finish speaking, Aaron covered her mouth, pulling her further away while giving Margaret a gentle smile, "You two continue, we don't know her."
Umbridge blinked in surprise, then looked at Margaret, "Imprison her immediately."
A thick rope flew into the air and firmly bound Margaret.
His neck was being strangled tighter and tighter, and his arms were also bound firmly, making it difficult for him to break free for a while.
“From now on, you all better behave yourselves,” Umbridge shouted triumphantly.
"The curse stops immediately."
Aaron chanted a spell, and the ropes binding Margaret instantly fell to the ground.
"Gaius, what do you mean by this?"
"Idiot, I'm saving you!" Aaron scoffed. "You're really brave, a centaur who values dignity more than life, and who has been humiliated time and time again on centaur territory!"
Of course, if the professor thinks he can take on dozens of centaurs single-handedly, then consider it me meddling!
Umbridge paused, turned to look at the centaurs, and her face instantly turned deathly pale.
Their eyes were filled with rage, and many of the centaurs had already picked up bows and spears, looking as if they wanted to devour her alive.
"Gulp!" Umbridge swallowed hard, forcing a stiff smile. "Actually... I don't mean you any harm."
The horsemen remained completely unmoved and charged down in unison.
"What are you doing... Let me go... You filthy bastards... No..."
Umbridge let out a sharp cry and her wand emitted beams of red light as she attacked, but her meager magic was quickly overwhelmed by the siege of dozens of centaurs, without even making a ripple.
"Tsk! How pitiful!" Aaron shook his head as he watched Umbridge howling in agony under the trampling of dozens of horses. "Don't kill him. He's got some status, after all."
"Yes, I am the Deputy Minister of Magic. You beasts are the best... ah..."
