There's a saying that aptly summarizes Buddhism: "Buddha in India, Dharma in China, and monks in Taiwan."

The monks of Yingzhou were notorious for their rigorous, even morbid, practice. They were also known for their extreme violence.

The so-called monk soldiers were private armed groups within Buddhism. The Tendai and Shingon sects and the Jodo Shinshu sect once used powerful warlords during the Warring States period to brutally kill each other.

For example, even Oda Nobunaga, who was known as the Sixth Heaven Demon King, was actually a follower of Zen Buddhism.

The burned-down Mount Hiei was the center of the Tendai sect in Eishu. The Honganji Temple, which was Nobunaga's enemy, was one of the factions of the Jodo Shinshu sect, while other factions joined Nobunaga's ranks.

It's really ridiculous.

"If Your Majesty says so, then I cannot pretend I didn't hear it."

A soft, alluring woman's voice came from outside the door, interrupting the departing Okuninushi.

So moisturizing!

Upon seeing the woman enter, Jingu finally felt a sense of novelty; this was a completely different kind of charm from the young girls around her. This charm was called motherhood.

She was graceful and charming, with a full and voluptuous figure, tall and outstanding. Her eyebrows and eyes were not delicate, but rather gentle and lovely, giving her a sense of fragility.

She was dressed in a pink dress, unlike the style of Yingzhou, and her background was immediately apparent.

"What are you doing here, Hariti?"

Even Tamamo-no-Mae couldn't recognize who this was, but the senior Okuninushi clearly recognized him.

"This is Yingzhou. Let's not use that old name anymore. Just call me Guizi Mu or Huanxi Mu."

It was an extremely obscure name. Even after hearing it, the three members of the Jingu family looked at each other blankly, having never heard of it before.

The Great God initially stared coldly at the woman, but then seemed to realize that his actions were pointless, so he sat down.

"Although this guy doesn't have much of a reputation, he does have some background. He is the Demon Mother Goddess, one of the Twenty-Four Guardian Deities, and also the Rakshasa Mother and the Goddess of Beloved Child."

I don't know, I don't understand, but I know it's Buddhist.

"According to the divine covenant, the Supreme Lord should no longer be able to interfere in the affairs of this country. Does his current behavior constitute a violation of the covenant?"

Kishimo spoke softly, her tone gentle, yet her words were sharply directed at Ōkuninushi.

I don't know what the divine covenant they're talking about actually refers to, but I can guess that it probably refers to the matter of the Great God of the Great Nation relinquishing his kingdom.

Faced with Kishimo's accusations, Ōkuninushi raised an eyebrow.

“This is not interfering in state affairs, but a family matter. Although Princess Shima has a part-time job in your Buddhist sect, she is still my daughter at the very least. Isn’t it my duty to discipline her?”

Daughter? Not wife?

Even if a myth is distorted, it shouldn't be this far off, right?

Chapter 223: Discrimination

However, after Ōkuninushi said this, Kishimo did not delve any further into the matter.

Perhaps they understand that there is no real room for criticism of the actions of the Great God on this issue.

"Then what are you doing here? This is not your Buddhist territory."

The Great God looked displeased and wanted to send her away immediately.

"How could it not be? Benzaiten is both one of the Seven Lucky Gods and a guardian deity like me. Her shrine naturally has no reason to forbid me from coming."

The mother demon smiled and showed no anger.

"Would we refuse to let her enter the temple dedicated to the god of eloquence?"

"I hope that's really the case."

The Great God made no attempt to hide his aversion to Buddhism, and the Shrine smoothed things over.

"There's no need to argue about this. May I ask who this... is the Demon Mother?"

The shrine maiden was unsure how to address the woman. "Female Bodhisattva?" seemed imprecise. "Goddess?" also appeared inappropriate.

"You may call me that. Lord Shrine Maiden, you want to ask me why I came here, right?"

The Demon Mother displayed a gentle and understanding side, reminding Jingu of the female bodhisattvas he had seen online who would say "It's okay to be faster" in the comments section.

"Of course I came to apologize. I expected that Biancai Tian would encounter resistance, so I was persuaded to come and help."

"Of course, it seems there's really no hope if Your Excellency is here. I'll have to take on the task of apologizing to you on your behalf."

After glancing at the Great God of the Nation, Kishimo turned her gaze to the Shrine.

"Hmph, let me warn you first, this girl is the mother of five hundred Rakshasa demons, far inferior to the girl you like."

Although the matter had nothing to do with the Great God of the Nation anymore, she still coldly pointed it out.

Upon hearing this, the Divine Palace gasped. Five hundred?

Although one could tell from the other person's demeanor that she was a wife or even a mother, after considering it carefully, the shrine maiden still dared not rush in with five hundred...

The mother demon didn't get angry; she just smiled faintly.

"In the myth of the Supreme Ruler, there were also many offspring. Could it be that he personally gave birth to each one? Using mortal thinking to mislead people is a bit biased, isn't it?"

“I was born by oath, and was originally a Rakshasa demon mother. Later, I was influenced by the World-Honored One and became a mother goddess. How can I be judged by the mindset of an ordinary person?”

Jingu understood what the Demon Mother was saying. The gist of it was: there are no virgin mothers in reality, but there can be in mythology, so go for it.

Now I feel relieved.

"Of course, please do not think of me as some filthy or unclean person, Lord Jingu. I am only here to appease your prejudice against Buddhism, and I do not have the same level of understanding as Lord Benzaiten."

While dispelling some of the chaotic ideas of the shrine, the Demon Mother also took the opportunity to make sarcastic remarks about the Ōkuninushi, making the Ōkuninushi even more unpleasant.

"So how do you plan to dispel my resentment? Everyone knows my hobbies. Since you're not going to address the root cause, how can you possibly succeed?"

The shrine maiden and Tamamo-no-Mae were embraced, the shrine maiden seemingly unconcerned about the chaotic nature of his private life, as he exposed himself to the demon mother.

He gave a wicked smile.

"Yes, if Shakyamuni could cut off his own flesh to feed an eagle, why can't you? Or is the propagation of Buddhism more important than your personal chastity?"

The Great God also sarcastically remarked to her.

"Furthermore, doesn't your Tantric school also have the practice of joy meditation? Aren't you also known as the Mother of Joy? Isn't giving your body as alms a tradition? Why pretend?"

"As expected, Your Majesty has many misunderstandings and prejudices about Buddhism."

The mother of the demon said something in a light tone.

"My joy is the joy of a mother seeing her children; the joy of Zen is the power of sexuality, which is to use desire to stop desire, not the kind of sordid thing that the world considers it."

"As for offering one's physical body as alms, whether it's offering a body of white flesh or using an incarnation to deceive, I imagine Lord Shrine would not be pleased to see that."

Jingu clapped her hands lightly twice, as if applauding Kishimo's argument, but after lowering her hands, she said:

"That's well said, but unfortunately you're wrong. I usually only talk about the body with people, not feelings. If you're willing to give me your body, I'll naturally be happy."

The mother demon looked slightly troubled, but still spoke.

"If it is purely for the sake of flesh or profit, how can it truly resolve the grudges in your heart, sir? What I should do is to let you truly understand Buddhism, so that it can be truly resolved."

"Don't worry about that. I always keep my word. If I say I don't mind, I don't mind. Besides, how can anyone listen to Buddhism if you just talk about it? Why don't you demonstrate it for me?"

Jingu snapped his fingers, and the small table in front of him transformed into a soft couch.

"Why don't we start with the Joyful Meditation Method? I'm quite interested in it, and I'm sure I can quickly grasp the true meaning of the Buddha's teachings."

The Demon Mother was somewhat speechless, while the Great God of the Okuninushi smiled.

She knew that she had to lower her standards to get along with Jingu; someone like Kishimo, who had principles and a bottom line, wouldn't work.

"Lord Jingu, please don't tease me. The Dharma is not merely superficial, and Lord Jingu is not a foolish mortal that I can enlighten."

It is said that Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva can transform into a beautiful woman to meet with mortals, and then reveal the form of white bones when ascending to the Pure Land, thus enabling people to understand the Buddhist principle that beauty is but a skeleton and flesh is without form.

However, while ordinary people might gain some understanding from such a situation amidst their fear, it was a different story when it happened to the shrine.

To give an example, even if Tamamo-no-Mae dared to suddenly transform into a giant fox while the two were having a good time, she would have to carefully consider what kind of punishment she would suffer.

Therefore, the kind of enlightenment that gods and Buddhas use to fool mortals is naturally something they wouldn't dare to use on their own temples.

"If you are unwilling to offer yourself directly or demonstrate the Dharma, how can you possibly dispel my dissatisfaction? You can't even satisfy my simple hobby."

"Even if such a thing were done, Lord Jingu would only harbor more resentment. I will only use time to slowly resolve the resentment in Lord Jingu's heart."

Sure enough, stubbornness is one of these people's traits. The meaning behind Kishimo's words was clearly that more time should be spent conquering the shrine.

"Please do as you please. Since it doesn't involve Benzaiten, I'll head back now."

The Great God stood up, preparing to leave.

"Going back to Tokyo? Why don't you wait for me?"

Jingu also stood up. Since he couldn't play Benzaiten, he decided to take a walk around and then go back.

"No, I'm going back to Izumo. I was in Tokyo before because I hadn't been there for a long time. Now that I've stayed for so long, it's time to go back to Izumo."

"If you ever need anything from me in the future, just come to Izumo to find me."

Finally, the Great God of the Nation couldn't help but give one last piece of advice.

"If you're going to make a move on the island princess, don't be rough. Try to coax her a little. It's always better to be gentle with girls."

Chapter 224 Nuclear Fusion Saves the World: The Great Ming King

The Great God thus disappeared from the mortal world.

After she left, Biancai Tian did not appear, it seems that he was confined to the mortal world by her.

Damn it, what happened to the promise that the shrine maiden could sleep? How can the shrine maiden sleep if she's not let out?

Feeling somewhat bored, the shrine maiden stood up and looked at the large torii gate over the sea.

Without a naked girl draped in a light veil dancing on the beach, the grand torii gate is meaningless.

"So what should we do next, Lord Jingu?"
