The two people behind them shook their heads in unison.
“Machine Hunter. Never heard of it.” Maxima thought for a moment, then stood up and said, “But don’t worry, Your Majesty, I will contact the royal family right now and find out what’s going on.”
Then, an interstellar connection was established directly with the old king of Almeric.
Then the number being called is out of service.
"Impossible!" Maxima exclaimed in surprise. "This is my private line, directly connected to Father Emperor. There's no way it should be disconnected. How could this be?"
She didn't continue, but her brows furrowed.
Even with her limited intelligence, she seemed to have a vague feeling that something might be wrong back home.
Shen You, on the other hand, took the old wizard to Old Bu's warship, captured the Tango General and his subordinates, and questioned them. Under the pressure of incantations, they finally confessed everything.
"coup!?"
Maxima was filled with shock and anger.
"Zazo? My defeated opponent? That scoundrel dares to do that!?"
Zazo is one of the highest-ranking members of Almeric and one of the best warriors. He has challenged Maxima more than once, hoping to defeat the princess, seize the throne, and win her heart, but he has failed so far.
General Tango shrank back and said, "That force called the Machine Hunters agreed to help Zazo, and now he's unstoppable in Almeric. His Majesty the King has been imprisoned, and Almeric is now basically under his control."
"This is outrageous! Absolutely outrageous!"
Maxima paced back and forth, clenching her fists so tightly that the veins on the back of her hands bulged.
"Sasu, prepare the spaceship," she snapped. "We're returning. Let that scoundrel know who the true master of Almeric is!"
Tango opened his mouth as if to speak, but seemed to force himself to close it again.
However, Shen You noticed: "What do you want to say?"
General Tango resisted fiercely, but finally succumbed to the incantation.
"Actually, Zazo is looking for you everywhere. If Your Highness goes back, it might play right into his hands."
“How so?” Maxima frowned.
"He publicly claimed that His Majesty the King had been attacked and was now in a coma. Zazo is not a member of the royal family, and he knew he could not rightfully ascend the throne, so he planned for the Princess to return and succeed him."
“Me? But I won’t go along with him,” Maxima said.
“Yes. But Her Highness has never been involved in politics for many years. She has no power, no manpower, and no brains. She is easy to manipulate. That’s what he said!” said General Tango.
Maxima was so angry that her face turned red, and she yelled and screamed, wishing she could fly back immediately and skin that guy alive.
Shen You listened silently to the side and thought for a moment.
Logically speaking, this was Almerik's internal affair, and had nothing to do with him. Apart from Seven, who was notoriously protective of his own, the guards generally wouldn't interfere in other people's internal affairs. Whether it was democracy, dictatorship, or even civil war and destruction, as long as there were no external forces interfering, Ultraman never cared.
It doesn't matter if they have internal strife, but it's a different story if they invade other star systems and cause trouble.
If he had the time, Shen You would have considered visiting Almeric, but while his interstellar travel was fast, it wasn't entirely without time. Earth, on the other hand, could face a star-destroying enemy at any moment—potentially the most lucrative experience he'd ever encountered. Therefore, he wasn't keen on traveling far for the time being.
However, there seems to be another option.
Another option to get the other party to come to your door and negotiate terms is...
"Maxima".
Shen You turned to the princess who was in a fit of rage.
"Looks like you'll be staying a while longer; you've been kidnapped."
Maxima was taken aback.
She then looked at him somewhat uncertainly: "By whom?"
“By me,” Shen You said seriously.
"what?"
The princess was stunned for a moment, then her cheeks flushed red, and she lowered her head in embarrassment.
"So you like this kind of thing. You should have said so earlier; it's not like it's impossible."
Shen You: "."
I feel like she's on the wrong channel.
Chapter 212 The Minister's Wisdom
Almerick Star.
Upon hearing that Princess Maxima's spaceship had returned, the newly appointed minister, Zazo, immediately jumped out of his newly acquired concubine's bed, almost forgetting to pull up his trousers as he ran out.
Zazo had long harbored ambitions for the throne, which wasn't exactly a secret. After all, everyone knew that he had challenged Maxima time and again, only to be repeatedly defeated by her.
After suffering many defeats, Zazo gradually began to realize that while it seemed he was always just one move behind Maxima, narrowly losing each time, that was merely an illusion. Thinking it over, no matter how much he trained and grew stronger, his opponent was always just a tiny bit stronger the next time they faced each other.
Gradually, he realized that the difference between them might not be a tiny bit, but a huge gap. It was just that the detestable princess deliberately made it seem like he had a chance, just to whet his appetite.
He resigned himself to his fate; he could never beat that brute woman in his life. It was more reliable to use his brain.
So he colluded with the machine hunters, secretly letting these deadly former Space Criminals into the fold, using their power to seize control. In exchange, he would allocate a territory on Almeric specifically for the machine hunters as their base—he'd heard that these unfortunate guys' homes had been blown up by someone and they were now orphans, preparing to build a new crystal.
Zazo pondered the situation, concluding that his ascension to the throne was illegitimate and unlikely to gain widespread support. The beautiful but brainless Maxima, however, was a perfect pawn. When she returned, his silver tongue would easily concoct a story to persuade her to willingly support his ascension, and he could even lure the princess to his bedchamber. After all, while he primarily desired the throne, he had long coveted the princess's powerful presence.
He rushed out in a panic, having already prepared a whole speech to deceive the princess, only to find that she hadn't come at all.
Only the maids that Maxima brought with her disembarked from the spaceship.
Upon seeing Zazo, the maid burst into tears, sobbing and pitifully rushing forward: "Minister! The princess... the princess has been kidnapped by villains!"
"What?" Zazo exclaimed in surprise, and hurriedly asked, "What happened?"
"Someone from the other side of Earth, a really big and powerful guy. He asked me to come back and deliver a message, saying that if he wants to see Her Highness the Princess alive, he should go to Mars to meet him at the agreed time."
Before Zazo could speak, his trusted aide Norland sneered, "Threatening us? A primitive man from the solar system? What makes him think he has the right to negotiate with us?"
The maid said, "Her Highness the Princess was no match for him. Also, when Brainiac's warship went to Earth, he beat it up and captured it."
"They only bully third-rate scoundrels who aren't even worth a second glance."
Norland continued speaking halfway through his sentence, then seemed to realize something was wrong and abruptly stopped.
"Wait, you're not talking about 'that' Brainiac, are you?"
The maid blinked. "Are there many more Brainiacs?"
"Is that the one that destroys galaxies everywhere to collect civilizations?" Norland asked.
"correct."
"Sigh~"
Norland gasped, then turned solemnly to Zazo.
"Minister, I think we should think this over carefully. If we act rashly and anger the villains, it will be bad."
It wasn't that I was afraid, but rather that I was concerned for the princess's personal safety.
Zazo hesitated for a moment.
"I didn't expect there to be such a formidable opponent on Earth. But it doesn't matter, our allies have already played their trump card. A terrifying embodiment from the antimatter universe, almost no civilization can withstand that kind of power. We can certainly reveal this trump card to negotiate."
"The minister is wise!!"
Norland quickly echoed.
“Oh? You also think this is a good idea?” Zazo smiled. “I’m glad you agree. Then you can go and negotiate with that dangerous person, Norland. I have high hopes for you.”
Norland's smile vanished instantly.
Only one sentence popped into my mind at that moment.
Zazo, you scoundrel, you tricked me!
"What?" Zazo raised an eyebrow. "You have a problem with that?"
"No, no. I meant that the minister is wise and will certainly live up to your expectations."
He forced a smile.
However, his smile looked even uglier than his tears.
"Hurry up and prepare, don't delay any longer." Zazo nodded and said, "Our esteemed princess is probably being subjected to some kind of inhuman torture by those villains right now."
"My subordinate understands."
And at this very moment, on Earth.
Their esteemed princess, being held hostage in the thugs' house, devoured a roast suckling pig, a roast chicken breast with sautéed onions and garlic, roast salmon with roasted vegetables and lemon thyme, cream of mushroom soup, Caesar salad, and cheesecake.
Then Kara, finding the newcomer disagreeable, made a sarcastic remark. The two started bickering, which gradually escalated into the argument Shen You had previously interrupted about "who is the strongest in the galaxy." Then, after finishing their meal, they flew one after the other to the uninhabited area outside the city for a one-on-one...
Arm wrestling.
Maxima boasted of her unparalleled divine strength, claiming to be virtually invincible throughout the galaxy. The little girl before her, however, looked incredibly young, her face still bearing traces of childhood innocence; she estimated she hadn't even grown all her hair yet. Maxima didn't even consider her a threat.
However, Maxima's smile quickly vanished when their wrists became entangled.
Incredibly hard!
The blonde girl's seemingly frail little hands were taut as if welded to the ground. Maxima exerted her strength repeatedly, striking several times with such force that the ground beneath their elbows cracked open, sending dust waves exploding in all directions.
The other party remained completely still!
Kara smiled without saying a word, but her smile seemed to speak volumes.
That's it?
Is this all the strongest galaxy can be?
Maxima's face turned bright red. She had used all her strength, and her arms and body trembled slightly from the effort, but it was still to no avail.
Moreover, Karana's relaxed expression made her feel as if she hadn't even exerted much effort.
But how is this possible?
A storm raged within Maxima's heart.
At the same time, an outrageous thought popped into my head.
