Chapter 285 Who Plays the Bad Cop?

Shen You couldn't quite describe his feelings. He was quite certain that he had never encountered such a black creature or anything like it before, but it did radiate a faint energy fluctuation similar to fear, which was the yellow light from the emotional spectrum.

It was a fragment of energy, somewhere between gaseous and solid, churning unpredictably within the spherical shield.

Shen You, carrying the protective shield, soared into the sky. In just a moment, he had arrived at one of his several strongholds, the former mothership of Brainiac.

Old Bu's mothership was originally the culmination of cutting-edge technology. After Shen You's recent modifications, it had become a high-level base more suitable for him. It contained various top-notch technologies beyond human imagination, as well as the best equipment and environment.

The scan, aided by the equipment, quickly returned the same results to Shen You as he had expected.

“A similar energy fluctuation response to the spectrum of fear,” Parr reported. “Matching data from similar energy bands revealed indications of a concentrated energy response that invaded the Milky Way a week ago, but the response disappeared in an instant.”

Based on residual data records, it's speculated that someone may have released a certain amount of terror energy into the Milky Way, but after that, the energy dispersed and scattered throughout different parts of the galaxy.

Shen You rested his chin on his hand, his brows slightly furrowed.

Is Fear Energy another parallax monster?

The last time, Parallax was simply destroyed by it, but as everyone knows, Parallax is the embodiment of fear in the universe. You can destroy it, but you can't eradicate it. Because as long as living beings still have the concept of "fear," Parallax is immortal.

So the result of the last encounter was less about annihilation and more about kicking the Parallax monster back into the Fear Spectrum to start its cast.

Perhaps Parallax got angrier the more he thought about it after he went back, and decided to come back fully prepared to do something big this time?

It's not impossible.

Parallax in the Green Lantern movies also did something similar. A small fragment of its fear came to Earth and infected Hector Hammond, Hal's old friend. Hammond then became one of Parallax's remote puppets, possessing power comparable to Green Lantern's and able to remotely draw fear energy from Parallax.

Shen You wasn't very familiar with Old Brook's technology, but he had learned a lot from Ganther's tech tree research on Oa. A single Green Lantern ring could cover an entire sector of the universe, reporting any illegal activities within that sector to the corresponding Lantern at any time. Shen You applied this technology to the hardware of Old Brook's warship, making its intelligence network even more advanced.

“Very good. Calibrate the radar. The target is all yellow light-like spectral responses within sector 2814,” Shen You said. “Don’t overlook even the faintest suspected coordinates. Report the results to me once they’re out.”

"Okay, deployment in progress."

Interstellar sector scanning is a massive undertaking, not something that can be done quickly. After completing the setup, Shen You didn't linger and left the warship first.

He also planned to go to the watchtower later.

The Justice League's watchtower has been built, a landmark facility. This is Shen You's first official visit since its completion.

Chapter 286 Bat Interrogation

Axel Walker, codenamed The Magician, is one of the villains in Midtown. He is skilled at pranks, possesses a bunch of seemingly whimsical but actually dangerous high-tech gadgets, and has a pair of signature shoes that allow him to walk in the air.
