"Or rather, is there something Mr. Slanka wants to tell me?"
He Ao said calmly.
“I know nothing. I just received orders to ‘stop the investigation.’”
"Slanka said softly."
Of course, once the person dies, the investigation will cease forever.
"How exactly did my parents die?"
He pressed the muzzle of his gun forward on Slanka's head and pressed for an answer.
"I don't know either, I'm just following orders."
Slanka's voice trembled slightly.
"You work for Anvis Power Group?"
He Ao took a deep breath. "Is there a problem with Anvis's machine factory?"
"I do not know."
Slanka answered softly.
Are you someone who knows absolutely nothing?
He Ao sighed softly.
Slanka felt that if he said he didn't know again, he might really not know whether he was alive or dead, so he quickly added, "The higher-ups have sent me your information, it's on my computer."
"Take me to see it."
He lowered the muzzle of his gun slightly, gesturing for Slanka to stand up.
Slanka slowly stood up, his hand hanging limply at his sides. Blood, soaking his pajamas, flowed down his arm to his fingertips. As he slowly rose, he secretly glanced at Heo and noticed that Heo was holding a gun in his right hand.
Then he slowly walked towards the study on the side.
He pressed his fingerprint to open the study door and walked to the computer desk, which was a wide, silver platform without any monitor.
He Ao saw him place his hand on the computer desktop, and clusters of light suddenly lit up on the desktop, seemingly reading his palm lines.
"Unlock successful. Good evening, Mr. Slanka."
A gentle female voice echoed in the room.
As the female voice rang out, a flash of light appeared on the computer screen.
The once bare desktop suddenly transformed into a semi-transparent mud floor, with lush green plants sprouting and growing from the soil, and rainwater flowing down from the sky, seeping into the earth.
These tender shoots, nourished by the rain, grew rapidly and wildly, eventually becoming a lush and verdant forest.
The faint passage of time gradually emerged from the rain, its shimmering light reflecting off the green leaves of the forest.
This is the startup animation for this holographic projection computer. Roy, the character from the previous instance, also used this kind of wilderness-themed startup animation.
After a brief pause, a beautiful girl, like an elf, emerged from the forest, holding a tender green leaf in her hands. Her sweet and lovely voice filled the room.
"Taleson PC Manager reminds you that this boot took ten seconds. You have defeated the entire Federation."
The computer.
He Ao: ······
Slanka stretched out his hand and floated in the air, waving gently. The cute little girl's figure gradually faded and disappeared.
This is to close the pop-up window.
He Ao glanced at the network interface hidden under the tree roots at the bottom of the computer; it was not connected to the internet.
This computer is running offline.
Slanka's fingers weaved through the trees, pulling out a hidden folder from a green leaf. He then opened the folder, and the forest scene gradually disappeared, transforming into documents floating in the air.
Slanka opened one of the documents, and Joey's information slowly appeared.
"look."
As Slanka opened the document, she leaned slightly to the right, allowing He Ao's gaze to rest unobstructed on the document.
The instant Heo's gaze fell upon the document, Slanka abruptly turned to the side, flames erupting in his hand. He shoved Heo's gun-wielding hand aside with one hand and grabbed Heo's neck with the other.
He cooperated so readily precisely for this opportunity.
Clang——
call out--
No——
The silver dagger was drawn by He'ao's left hand, and in an instant it pierced through the air, going from bottom to top, and pierced Slanka's heart.
Fresh blood, gleaming with a gray sheen, flowed down the short sword.
Slanka's movements froze halfway as Heo pushed him away with his sword.
The orange-red flames slowly dissipated in his palm, and he opened his mouth, from which gushed forth rolling blood.
Heo drew his sword, gently turned aside, and Slanka's body lost its support, falling forward at his feet.
He never kills unless attacked.
The blood on the silver dagger slid down the blade quickly, leaving only a cold, silvery sheen.
This sword is immune to bloodshed.
He shoved his sword back into its sheath, stepped over the blood flowing from Slanka, and walked to the computer.
He stared at the file on the computer, which contained Joey's information, including his birthplace, birthday, relatives, personality traits, friends, and home address.
It was marked in red at the very bottom of the document,
[Monitor, remove if necessary].
This information wasn't particularly important. He Ao placed his finger in the air, made a light grab, and dozens of documents appeared in his field of vision at the same time.
These are all the files in this folder.
He glanced through the documents; they all listed people as "[monitor, eliminate if necessary]", but apart from Joey, none of them involved any personnel from the Anvis Machinery Factory.
He Ao returned to the previous page, where five folders appeared in his view.
Are
[Investigation], [Surveillance], [Surveillance, removal if necessary], [Removal], [Death]
He Ao opened the [Investigation] folder. There were many files in this folder, containing people from all walks of life. He Ao quickly browsed through them and found that the vast majority of them were people he did not know, and their personal information was not related to Anvis Machinery Factory.
Soon, his hand stopped on a familiar name.
Victor.
He Ao, the mastermind behind the Crown Casino and the leader of the Money Rat Gang, had a brief conversation with Mu Xiu during the first official instance when he was investigating Mu Xiu.
Slanka
The file on the computer doesn't contain much information about Victor.
It was only briefly mentioned that he was the leader of the Money Rat Gang, and had served 27 months in Ankerm Prison in Dawn City before being released early a few months ago.
He is trying to reunify the Aston District underworld after the destruction of the Crocodile Gang.
These were all pieces of news that had little to do with He Ao. However, in the section on relationships within the document, there appeared some information that piqued He Ao's interest.
[He has a personal relationship with Smith, the field operations supervisor at the FBI's Morningside Field Office (suspected)]
[Has a personal relationship with Morningside City Councilman Christos (suspected)]
What should I say? Is the world a circle?
He's gaze continued downwards, where the next section was an evaluation of Viktor's strength.
[Possibly possesses a D-level talent sequence, and excels in melee combat]
There is also a red note at the bottom of the document.
[Victor has most likely been promoted to C-rank, his abilities are more combat-oriented, and he is extremely dangerous.]
It looks like a note written by Slanka, and the note was made a few days ago.
In this light, the wounds on Slanka's body might have been inflicted by Viktor.
Selena was right; Victor was indeed very dangerous.
He reached out and flicked the paper, and the next document appeared in his field of vision.

As Heo was reviewing the files on Slanka's computer, a thin man in a white suit walked into the building.
He exuded a faint, light-scented men's cologne, and his appearance was somewhat youthful and effeminate.
After entering the building, he did not speak to the receptionist who stood up. Instead, he looked around, found elevator number two, entered the elevator, and entered the temporary security code 1331.
The elevator display screen flickered and showed the number '17'.

He Ao continued flipping through the next document. After searching for a while, he closed the folder and returned to the previous page.
The subsequent information in this folder is not of any use.
These folders only contain files from recent years; older files have likely been destroyed by Slanka or stored elsewhere.
After returning to the folder page, He Ao first reached out and opened the last [Death] folder. This folder contained relatively few files, all of which were people that Slanka had deleted.
The documents contained no information about Joey's parents, which suggests that their deaths were likely unrelated to Slanka, who was simply sent to monitor and eliminate Joey.
Although it was expected, He Ao was still a little disappointed.
He left and opened the [Surveillance] folder.
