The little boy, looking quite pleased with himself, climbed over the window with his book in his arms, and He Ao reached out and caught him.
As He Ao caught him, he looked into the window and asked, "You live here?"
"Correct!"
The little boy patted his clothes and handed the book to He Ao.
"Then why did you travel all the way to the Crown Casino?"
He Ao borrowed the book and casually asked a question.
"The gamblers over there are very generous when they win money, and there are some small shops that specialize in serving gamblers who have lost everything. It's very cheap to buy food at those shops, and I don't have to pay for the bus ride."
The little boy said very shrewdly that he was only about one meter tall, while the fare line for the Dawn City buses was one meter and one inch.
He Ao flipped through the books the little boy had given him. Both books were very new and looked like they hadn't been used much. He asked curiously, "Where did you get such new books?"
“Someone came to distribute bread earlier, and it was distributed at the same time. I thought it would be good for starting a fire, so I took it.”
Later they stopped giving out loaves and switched to teaching writing, only accepting children, who would receive a loaf of bread for each lesson. They were a bunch of weirdos.
But they give plenty of bread, and it tastes good. They also reward good grades with toys, so I quite like them.”
The boy stroked his chin and pondered for a while, "But then they stopped coming so often. At first, it was once a week, then once every two weeks, and now they might not come even once every month or two."
He Ao turned the book to the back and saw a line of text printed there: [Dawn Street Children's Rescue Association, Donation Hotline:]
"They're probably out of money."
He casually put the book away.
"By the way, what are you doing with all those books?" the boy asked He Ao, looking at him with a puzzled expression. "Are you going to school too?"
“No,” Heo shook his head, opened the character panel again, and looked at (Ander) after his name, “To complete the mission.”
This task has finally reached its final stage.

"I want to ask you for a favor. I have a child here. After this is all over, could you help me find a place for him?"
"A child? An illegitimate child? How old are you?"
Selena's shocked voice came from the other end of the phone.
······
“A homeless child I met by chance,” He Ao glanced at the little boy rummaging through his things. He had just chatted with Selena about tracking Mu Xiu, and now he was bringing up the little boy. “You might need to make some arrangements. I don’t know what the system is like here in Dawn City.”
“No problem,” Selena said, sounding like she was on her way, with a rustling sound of wind passing by. “By the way, did you find a metal test tube nearby? The criminal investigation department said the dancer came here to trade the secret medicine ‘Talent Sequence 34: Waiter’ with a client, and it should have been in a metal test tube.”
"Talent Sequence? Waiter?"
He Ao had some doubts.
“Waitress is one of the advanced sequences of ‘Talent Sequence 9: Listener’. As for talent sequences, that’s a bit complicated to explain. You can think of it as a way to become a superhuman. I’ll explain it to you in detail after this is over. By the way,” Selena paused, carefully advising,
"If you find the 'waiter's' secret medicine, do not try to take it. Just put it away. Taking secret medicine beyond one's level has a very high mortality rate. Also, be careful not to damage it. If the secret medicine leaks out, it may cause a contamination incident."
“Hmm,” He Ao nodded gently, watching the little boy shaking the silver test tube, trying to fill it with water. “I’ll be careful.”
“Alright,” Selena breathed a sigh of relief, “I’m going to find Mu Xiu now. He hasn’t shown up at our defensive line; he’s hiding quite well.”
"Yeah, be careful," He Ao casually reminded her, then, as if suddenly remembering something, "By the way, Selena, what's your social security number?"
"Why do you ask?"
Selena was somewhat puzzled.
"Since I'm asking you to do something, I'll naturally give you a reward. Send it to me."
He Ao laughed.
"Can you still deposit money into my social security account?" Selena made a commotion on the other end, seemingly noticing something. She quickly sent He Ao her social security number. "Okay, that's all. If you recover, go to the hospital as soon as possible. Don't delay, or a small problem can easily turn into a big one."
"Ah."
He Ao hung up the phone, operated the bracelet, then walked towards the little boy, held out his hand, and gestured for the little boy to show him the test tube.
"What's wrong?"
The little boy was a bit confused, but he still gave him the silver test tube.
He Ao examined the internal structure carefully. It was very clean, with no residue whatsoever, and the little boy had played with it for so long without any problems. This test tube seemed to pose no risk.
"This might be dangerous, so I'll keep it for now."
However, just in case, He Ao put away the test tubes.
"Hey!" the little boy exclaimed, suddenly becoming agitated, "You're taking things from a child too?"
“A deal,” He Ao smiled, unlocking his bracelet and handing it to him. “This smart bracelet is yours as collateral.”
"Press."
"real or fake?"
The little boy looked at him suspiciously.
“This is for you too,” He Ao said, taking out the ordinary standard-issue pistol, opening the magazine and glancing at the eleven bullets left. He then put on the safety and handed it to the little boy.
"???" The little boy was a bit confused. He looked up at He Ao with a puzzled expression. "Did you break your brain?"
"This is your reward for saving me."
He Ao smiled and patted the little boy's head, gesturing for him to follow him.
The little boy took the gun in a daze and followed He Ao out of the building.
This is an abandoned industrial building on the edge of the Aston district. Standing on the street in front of the building, you can even clearly see the towering barricade walls.
He took the wristband and hailed a taxi for the little boy, then the destination was the FBI building.
Want some fried chicken legs?
He Ao helped the somewhat bewildered little boy into a taxi.
“I do,” the little boy looked at him questioningly, “What do you want to do? Kidnap me and sell me?”
"Then do you believe me?"
He Ao looked at him with a smile.
“It’s alright, you seem like a good person,” the little boy smacked his eyes. “So where are you going to take me? There are no buses after 2 a.m., and I won’t be able to get back then.”
“I’ll take you to see an older sister. When you get there, just sit in the lobby downstairs for a while. An older sister will come to find you,” He Ao put the bracelet into the little boy’s hand again. “Just give her the bracelet, and she’ll treat you to fried chicken legs and settle your payment for saving me!”
“Oh, I see,” the little boy exclaimed, suddenly realizing, “You have no money, but your girlfriend does! You’re a kept man!”
He Ao: ?
He tapped the little guy on the head, signaling the taxi driver to drive away.
Why aren't you coming with me?
As the taxi started moving, the little boy inside leaned out of the window and asked in confusion.
"I'm here,"
He Ao turned around, looked at the dilapidated industrial building behind him, and gave a slight smile.
"Wait someone."
-
"Inspector Selena!" A fully armed policeman approached Selena, saluted, and said, "No, we've blocked all routes, but there's nothing there, not even in the sewers."
“How could this be?” Selena was taken aback. A map of the entire police department and the FBI began to appear in her vision, with dense red dots covering the entire route. “Unless Mu Xiu’s destination is not Hope Tower.”
But where can he go from the building?
Selena zoomed out on the map again, and the entire neighborhood came into view. Most directions were blocked off, and there was absolutely no way Mu Xiu could break through undetected.
Where else could he go?
Suddenly, her gaze fell upon a gap in the layout, the very path they had followed in pursuit of Mu Xiu.
Because everyone had already traveled this route, it was the least guarded and less heavily patrolled, with everyone's attention focused on the road leading to the Hope Building.
"Ander!"
Selena realized something, and she suddenly turned around and rushed back frantically.
-
The dull sound of footsteps echoed in the silent building.
A man covered in charred patches, with only strips of cloth barely covering his body, walked into the corner.
He crouched down and stared at the blood on the ground, which had already darkened.
He pressed his finger on the blood, and a faint red glow emerged from his fingertip. As the glow spread, the blood on the ground gradually began to swell.
He pulled a blood-red, wriggling compass-like object from his pocket, placed it on the blood, and began to suck the surging blood.
bang bang bang-
The sound of crisp footsteps echoed again in the darkness. A young man in neat combat gear slowly emerged from the shadows, smiling as he looked at the man.
"This is our first formal meeting. My name is Ander, Mr. Mush.

From the beginning, He Ao felt that Mu Xiu was a typical person who was rough on the outside but meticulous on the inside. This could be seen from the fact that he polluted passersby to distract Selena and He Ao. Moreover, his hatred for the dancer was exceptionally deep, which made him relentlessly pursue the dancer for decades.
Furthermore, there were plenty of homeless people near this abandoned industrial building, so Mu Xiu could easily gather enough offerings to sacrifice to the God of Chaos.
