He Ao was taken aback; he didn't quite understand what Li Le meant.
"We now have a missing person notice to announce,"
He had already walked onto the nearby street, and the clear voice of a TV host came from the television in the nearby convenience store.
He Ao looked up at the television in the convenience store.
The TV presenter glanced at the documents on his desk and slowly began to speak.
A gentleman named "Moonlight" is looking for a friend named "Hao Yi" and has prepared a lavish banquet at his home to entertain this friend who has come from afar. He looks forward to reaching more cooperation with Mr. Hao Yi to achieve a win-win situation.
"If Mr. Hao Yi sees this message, please arrive at 17 West Road before 9 p.m. tonight. Mr. Moonlight has been waiting for you for a long time."
He Ao lowered his head and looked at the newspapers in front of the convenience store. Almost all the newspapers had published the same missing person notice on their front page.
He Ao turned his head and looked around at the shops. Almost all the televisions were broadcasting the missing person notice.
"Why is it this again?"
The shop owner muttered something, picked up the remote and changed the channel. The new TV station was still broadcasting missing person notices.
Ultimately, the shop owner gave up. He sat in his chair, waiting for the missing person notice.
The announcement has finished airing.
He Ao stood at the entrance of the convenience store, bought a bottle of water, and casually asked while paying, "Who is this Hao Yi? Why are there so many messages about him everywhere?"
“I don’t know either,” the shop owner said, taking out his change box and giving He Ao his change. “When I woke up this morning, every TV station was broadcasting his missing person notice over and over again. Even the newspapers were full of this missing person notice.”
“It’s in Rudanese, Tiaese,” he picked up a newspaper and showed it to Hoo, “and even in Middle-earth.”
He shook his head, stuffed the newspaper back in, and sighed, "That bastard Moonlight is fucking rich, and that Hao Yi is really awesome, worth spending so much money to hire him."
"really."
He Ao echoed this, picked up his drink, and left the convenience store.
This is an 'invitation'.
A series of thoughts flashed through his mind.
At that moment, Yang De made a phone call.
This was the first time Yang De had called He Ao since he arrived in Ruodan. "He Ao, have you seen those messages? It seems like Moonlight is looking for 'Hao Yi'?"
“Okay,” He Ao nodded, “I understand.”
What are your thoughts?
Yang De quickly said, "I received intelligence that the building that was destroyed in Ellen City yesterday may have been done by Hao Yi. And after last night, the World Tree lost contact with the Ruodan branch. It seems that Hao Yi destroyed the World Tree's Ruodan branch."
"This morning, Moonlight extended an 'invitation' to him. Hao Yi's behavior has exceeded our expectations. We don't know what he wants, and we can't be sure whether he will cooperate with Moonlight."
"The situation in Ellen seems to be getting chaotic, and there's that mysterious club you mentioned before, which is also an unknown force. This time, the arrival of the ruins seems to be carrying some other influences that have never been seen before,"
At this point, Yang De paused for a moment and said softly,
“I discussed it with Director Liu and the Dean, and we hope you can come back. The situation in Ellen City is out of control. We can abandon this relic passage. You are currently in the center of the vortex, which is very dangerous.”
Yang De's initial goal was simply to let He Ao gain experience and come into contact with various forces. Now the situation has exceeded his expectations, and it will be dangerous for He Ao to stay any longer. Therefore, he hopes that He Ao can leave in time.
Hearing Yang De's words, He Ao rubbed his temples.
He is not at the center of the vortex, yet he is at the center of the vortex.
Moreover, judging from the shadow that kept approaching in his dream, he had been marked by the mysterious shadow. Once the mysterious shadow truly descended, no matter how far he went, he would probably be killed by this guy.
After all, even though they are separated by half a world, to the gods they are within arm's reach.
If the Shadow of Mystery hadn't been so ruthless, his true form might have actually disappeared.
But why would the gods care about the lives of mortals? To the Shadow of Mystery, the hundreds of thousands of people in Elennan City were nothing more than offerings placed on His altar for His enjoyment.
He Ao pondered for a moment, then said slowly and deliberately, "I saw Hao Yi yesterday."
"Ok?"
This time
Yang De was stunned.
He Ao briefly recounted what happened last night, and then, in Hao Yi's name, told Yang De part of the truth about the descent of the gods and the corruption of the World Tree.
Finally, he expressed some of the 'help' that 'Hao Yi' wanted to receive.
"I understand, I will contact the dean and the others."
After listening to He Ao's account, Yang De remained silent for a while, then nodded. Finally, he added, "We don't know if this 'Hao Yi' is entirely trustworthy. You need to be prepared to leave at any time."
"it is good"
He Ao nodded.
After hanging up Yang De's call, He Ao took a deep breath and glanced at the missing person posters all over the street.
This could be an 'invitation' or a 'luring'.
However, he still has other things to verify.
Soon, he returned to the place where he first encountered the murder case, the place where Rani was killed.
The area is still cordoned off to prevent people from entering.
Rani's body and her belongings have now been moved away.
Because there were so many cases at the time, neither the Moonlight Police Station nor the Military Police had enough manpower to guard the area, so they could only temporarily set up a few cordon tapes to prevent people from entering.
Because of the murder, people in the surrounding area are still hesitant to enter this place.
But not daring to do something doesn't mean you're afraid to do it.
Some daring people, or those in a hurry and wanting to take a shortcut, will crawl directly under the median strip.
When He Ao arrived here, he saw three young men pull open the cordon and crawl inside.
-
"I heard this is a murder scene,"
After crossing the cordon, the three slowly made their way down the gloomy, dimly lit alley. The last to walk was a short boy, who was cautiously observing the eerie surroundings and trembling as he asked, "Is this really the right place for us?"
"What, are you scared?"
The only girl among the three, a girl with a ponytail and obvious freckles on her face, turned her head and laughed at the short boy. Her tone was very high and she spoke suddenly, clearly intending to scare him.
"without!"
The short boy was clearly startled. He leaned back, grabbed his backpack strap, and said in a trembling voice, "No."
"Hahaha, coward."
The freckled girl laughed and carefully looked around.
"We're just coming in to take a look, it's fine."
Leading the way was a tall young man who took out his phone and started recording.
"Just imagine, if we show this video during class today, wouldn't that be really cool? Don't worry, this road isn't long. We've walked this road many times before when we had nothing to do, haven't we? Besides, we'll get to school faster this way."
"But these recent murders are all a bit strange,"
The short boy said in a low voice, "And didn't you have that dream? The one with the terrifying shadow? My mom said there might be many things in this world that we can't see, so don't go to places that are obviously abnormal."
"What, you even dreamt that some shadow got up in the middle of the night, grabbed you, and ate you?"
The freckled girl laughed out loud, "This is something out of a ghost story. And what are you worried about? The military police have already cleaned this place up."
She walked to the wall next to the box, pointed to the exposed brick wall and said, "See? All this blood-stained cement was knocked away by those military police. And you talk about those weird stories, now it's broad daylight, are you saying there's a monster staring at us from above?"
Just as she said this, the short boy looked up, staring at the top of her head with a terrified expression.
"What's wrong?"
The freckled girl was taken aback.
Just then, a drop of still-warm liquid landed on her hand.
She turned her head and looked at the thing on the back of her hand.
It was a drop of bright red blood.
She raised her head, trembling.
Just half a meter above her head, a monster covered in bumps, humanoid in shape but clinging to the wall like a gecko, was staring at her with a huge mouth, and bright red blood was oozing from between its teeth.
As the girl looked up and saw the monster, the monster opened its gaping maw.
Bright red blood dripped onto the girl's face.
The girl opened her mouth to scream, but the monster was faster and in an instant it climbed in front of her and bit down on her head.
Just then, a cold, white light descended from the sky, piercing the monster's body like lightning and pinning it to the wall.
"what!!!"
The girl's screams were finally released.
The short young man next to her reacted quickly and pulled her away. The two of them lost their balance and fell against the wall on the other side of the alley.
"Monster!!!"
The other tall young man who was filming finally realized what was happening and frantically scrambled to the other side.
Amidst the chaos, the short youth raised his head and looked at the radiant light that had impaled the monster; it appeared to be a pure white 'sword'.
But the next second, the sword disappeared, and the monster's body slid to the ground.
The short boy raised his head and looked up at the sky, towards the direction from which the light was coming from, where only a slowly rising sun could be seen.
-
Standing on the rooftop, He Ao glanced at the bone sword that had returned to his hand through telekinesis, then his gaze swept across the direction in which the monster had appeared.
Bright red marks were hidden in the cracks of the wall.
Within the vision of divine sense, a certain surging, dim power was being nurtured.
This appears to be part of some kind of ritual.
