"Director Gast."
The young detective handed the documents in his hand to the middle-aged man in front of him.
"Have all the leaders of the Security Federation gone back?"
The tall, middle-aged man with sharp features put away the documents handed to him by the young detective and looked at the young detective beside him.
"Yes, they left after giving the information."
The young detective nodded.
"Are their statements all consistent?"
Gast flipped through the documents in his hand. "When they arrived, all the followers of the Eternal Cult inside were already dead? They were attacked by the Eternal Cult's support as soon as they entered?"
"Yes, there was no blood on them, and after a brief autopsy, we also found that the wounds were most likely not caused by them,"
The young detective nodded. "The believers who died in the villa probably had nothing to do with them. They were just unlucky. They happened to arrive at the villa and encountered the Eternal Cult members before they could leave."
"It's not necessarily bad luck,"
Gast shook his head and continued flipping through the documents in his hands. "But it is indeed a good thing that they are willing to cooperate with us. We won't be completely in the dark in the storm zone anymore."
He paused for a moment, then asked, "By the way, what did those Eternal Secret Cult followers who were captured say?"
"Those at higher levels are very tight-lipped, and those at lower levels know nothing. However, their leader, a high priest, should be among the last group to escape. We are still following them, but I estimate we won't be able to for much longer."
The young detective replied.
"These filthy, sunless rats,"
Gast sighed, put down the documents in his hand, and looked up at the young agent. "Has there been a response to that 'email' sent to Novus Security?"
"No,"
The young detective shook his head.
Some senior analysts believe that the "note" left by Novus Security Company was merely a tactic used by the mastermind to sow discord between the Security Federation and the Eternal Cult.
“We found numerous traces of battles between powerful superhumans in the villa. According to the information we have gathered, Novus Security Company is just an ordinary security company with no powerful superhuman employees, and most of its staff died in the previous attack by the Eternal Cult.”
"Yes, that idea is correct,"
Gast placed his hand on the documents on the table and smiled at the young agent. "But even if the person behind it isn't necessarily from Novus Security, it doesn't mean that we can't contact him through Novus Security."
"what?"
The young detective's mind went blank for a moment, and he looked at Gast with some confusion. "You mean, the person behind this has a way to log into Novus Security's email account?"
He paused, then nodded. "That's true. If the mastermind is a powerful force, it's not surprising that they could steal information from 'Novis Security Company' through hacking."
He then looked up at the bureau chief with a puzzled expression. "So what exactly does this person behind the scenes want? He specifically contacted us..."
Is it hoping to use us to eliminate the reinforcements of the Eternal Esoteric Sect?
"But he had already left the villa a long time ago, and even if reinforcements came later, they wouldn't be able to catch up with him, so he wouldn't pose any threat to him at all."
"Or does he hate the Eternal Secret Sect so much that he'll seize any opportunity to suppress its power?"
"I can't rule out that possibility, but I actually think he achieved at least three goals with this move,"
Gast smiled and nodded, then he continued,
"First, it weakened the Eternal Secret Cult's strength; second, it pushed the Security Federation to the opposite side of the Eternal Secret Cult; third,"
He paused, looking at the young agent, "He gave us a 'gift' that showed his stance."
"Gift?"
The young detective was taken aback.
"Think about it carefully. Among the parties involved in this incident, besides the mastermind, who else is the beneficiary?"
"Gaster asked with a smile."
The young agent paused for a moment, then said with some doubt, "Us? We not only gained the support of the Security Federation, but also achieved our biggest victory against the Eternal Cult in recent years, bringing us one step closer to completely destroying the Eternal Cult."
"right,"
Gast smiled and nodded, picked up the hot coffee placed next to him, and put it to his lips. "The person behind the scenes, or rather the force behind the scenes this time, has clearly expressed his attitude to us through this 'intelligence support.' He is at odds with the Eternal Cult and has thrown us a sweet treat."
"But can this person behind the scenes and the forces he belongs to really be trusted?"
The young detective hesitated.
"At least,"
Gast took a sip of coffee. "They should be trustworthy when it comes to dealing with the Eternal Cult."
He glanced at the neon lights outside the window. "The balance in Winter City has been broken. A storm is brewing. We're probably in for a lot of work."
He lowered his head and glanced at the files under his command again. "So, have someone keep a close eye on the email of that Norvis Security Company. They will definitely contact us again. Only after trust is established can we truly 'cooperate'."
"Ah."
The young detective nodded, but just then he received a message, his expression changed, and he looked up at Gast.
"Chief,"
Just then, another agent rushed over, clutching a document, and looked up at Gast, shouting, "Novis Security has replied to the email!!!"
He quickly handed over the documents in his hand, looking at Gast nervously, "This is the reply."
Gast took the document from his hand, glanced down at it, and looked grave.
The young detective standing next to him glanced at the document and said hesitantly, "Chief, should we trust him?"
Gast was silent for a moment, then slammed the file in his hand heavily on the table.
"Gather everyone, check the equipment, contact United Industries, and tell the brothers to be on their toes. This isn't just for Winter City; our year-end bonus might just come from this."
"Yes Yes!"
The two agents standing beside him immediately responded.

Storm Zone
A bullet-riddled SUV slowly drove along a street where the streetlights had already been turned off.
The road is completely extinguished.
"Did they shake off those bald eagles from the FBI?"
Sitting in the back row, the white-robed man with bloodstains rubbed his head and asked softly.
A young, thin man was lying on top of him, treating his wounds and applying medicine.
"Lord Bayert,"
The man in black sitting in the passenger seat leaned out the window, took out night-vision binoculars, and glanced outside. "We should have shaken them off."
"How come that old bald eagle from the FBI is so capable?"
Bayer glanced at his injuries and sighed, "No wonder the Apostolic Nuncio and the Bishop told us not to confront him directly."
He didn't actually fight the bureau chief head-on; he only fought him briefly during the retreat, under the cover of his subordinates, and was then injured.
If he hadn't possessed multiple divine pendants and had other subordinates to delay him, his injuries would likely have been even more severe.
"Um, is it possible to contact anyone else?"
Bayer coughed and asked in a low voice.
"We can get in touch with them."
The man in the passenger seat nodded.
"Have them gather in the street ahead,"
Bayer nodded, then asked somewhat impatiently, "What about Kate and Swint? Can't we contact either of them?"
"Unable to reach you, sir."
The subordinate in the co-pilot's seat turned around. "This is probably a trap set by the Security Alliance and the FBI. Those two gentlemen may already be..."
"Useless thing,"
Bayer ran his fingers through his hair, pressing his forehead angrily. "They couldn't even complete their mission, and they made us suffer heavy losses. They even sent messages saying that we were just a 'child' who might have received secret supernatural support, and that we might have been attacked by a secret force."
"Didn't even take a single picture, what a waste."
He lowered his head, a sinister glint in his eyes. "These bald eagles, those traitors from the Security Federation, and that damned kid—these filthy unbelievers all must die. They should greet the eternal light with their blood."
"Sir, how do we communicate with the main church...?"
After Bayer finished venting, his subordinate in the co-pilot asked in a low voice.
"Main Church..."
Upon hearing this, Bayer paused for a moment and rubbed his temples.
The entire carriage fell silent instantly.
This incident resulted in enormous losses. Not only was the stronghold in the Cloud District gone, but most of Bayt's men were also lost. Kate and Swint have been lost, and they may all be gone. So, there's no point in punishing them.
But those who are alive still face punishment from the cathedral.
Just then, the thin man who had been applying the medicine to Bayer sat up and said hesitantly, "Sir, we don't have enough medicine, and my skills aren't professional enough. We should find a doctor..."
"I see,"
Bayer pressed his forehead. "There should be a clinic up ahead. Let's find one there."
He paused for a moment, then continued, "Find a clinic for a nonbeliever. If he refuses, you can threaten him with the lives of his relatives. That would be easier."
"Yes!"
The man in the passenger seat nodded. "These filthy unbelievers deserve to die."
It is their honor to serve adults.
bang bang bang-
The SUV hadn't gone far when a sudden burst of gunfire erupted in the pitch-black night, chasing after it.
The subordinate in the co-pilot immediately leaned out and looked behind them. "It looks like the FBI. They're chasing us again."
