“You should go to Ravenclaw, Jerry!” Harry retorted, and everyone else nodded in agreement.
When Neville heard that Jerry was going to give him his first piece of work, he was moved and said to Jerry, "Thank you, Jerry."
After saying that, Neville took the wooden box from Jerry, opened it and found a silver bracelet inside. He then picked up the bracelet and was about to put it on his wrist.
Jerry quickly stopped him and said, "Neville, don't wear it now. Wear it when you get back to your dorm. Also, you need to inject magic into it once a month. You don't need to remember that; the bracelet will automatically remind you when the magic is almost gone."
Upon hearing Jerry's words, Neville nodded silently, his eyes filled with deep gratitude. He then put the wooden box into his jacket pocket, which seemed to bulge even more as a result.
After Jerry and Neville finished their conversation, Harry quickly leaned over to Jerry and said, "Jerry, do you know what we found on the fourth floor? A giant three-headed dog! And..."
Before Harry could finish speaking, Hermione angrily interrupted him, saying, "Enough, Harry, this has nothing to do with Jerry. Don't drag him into this!"
Ron and Neville, seeing the little witch's anger, shrank back in fear, and Harry, seeing Hermione's furious expression, didn't bring up the previous topic again.
Jerry calmed down Hermione, who was a little agitated, and then the group finished breakfast in that atmosphere before heading off to class.
Jerry really wanted to say that he knew, and that he had even gone to check on her a few nights out of curiosity, but Hermione's reaction made him swallow his words.
In the morning, it was Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Jerry and Hermione didn't sit in the front like in other classes, but instead chose a seat towards the back.
"If you are accidentally bitten by a werewolf..."
At the front of the classroom, amidst a pungent, unpleasant smell of garlic, Quirrell stood there stammering as he read his textbook. Jerry wondered if Quirrell should also bear some responsibility for Voldemort's lack of a nose!
In Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, Professor Quirrell paid little attention to the students sitting in the classroom, which gradually emboldened many students, especially the Slytherin students.
In class today, Malfoy even crumpled up pieces of paper into marble-sized balls and threw them at Quirrell when he turned around. Several of the paper balls even hit Quirrell on the back of the head.
Jerry gasped in shock, admiring Malfoy's bravery. If his father Lucius knew that Malfoy dared to throw a little paper ball at Voldemort, he'd probably be scared out of his wits.
"Malfoy, how could you throw paper balls at the professor? Slytherin, one point deducted."
Malfoy wasn't afraid at all when Quirrell discovered him. "Just kidding, I'm super brave!"
“Professor Quirrell, your class is so boring. This is Defense Against the Dark Arts class, you have to talk to us about the Dark Arts, right?” Malfoy continued to speak to Quirrell in an arrogant tone.
Upon hearing Malfoy's words, the entire classroom erupted in excitement, especially the Slytherin students, who shouted excitedly from their seats, clamoring to learn Dark Magic.
"No, no, black magic is too, too dangerous. I can't teach you, otherwise the Ministry of Magic will come after me."
Malfoy became even more excited upon hearing Quirrell's words. He patted his chest and confidently told Quirrell, "Don't worry, Professor Quirrell. Do you know who my father is? My father is Lucius Malfoy. He has a good relationship with the Minister of Magic. You'll be fine."
Seeing that the noise in the classroom was getting louder and louder, Quirrell raised his voice slightly and said to the students below, "Please, everyone, please be quiet for a moment. I have a question for you!"
Seeing that Quirrell seemed to have something to say, everyone quieted down a bit and prepared to listen to his speech.
"Um, aren't you all going to learn dark magic? Well, I'll ask you all a question and see if any of you can answer it. Can anyone tell me the incantation for the Killing Curse?"
As soon as Quirrell finished speaking, the previously noisy classroom suddenly fell silent.
It was as if all sounds had been sealed away at that moment, leaving only Quirrell's faint words echoing in the air.
Chapter 29 Quirrell's Invitation
Seeing the classroom suddenly fall silent, Quirrell asked again, "Can no one answer my question?"
"Malfoy, I've noticed you seem quite interested in dark magic. Now, could you try to answer the question I just posed?"
Upon hearing Quirrell's question, Malfoy's heart skipped a beat.
He swallowed hard, shook his head, and then sat down silently.
Malfoy's arrogance and haughtiness vanished instantly, replaced by fear. He lowered his head, not even daring to meet Professor Quirrell's gaze.
"It seems that none of you know the answer to the question!" Quirrell glanced at the Slytherin students' expressions, his tone carrying a hint of disappointment.
Just as Jerry was also choosing to pretend not to hear, a figure appeared next to his desk, accompanied by the pungent smell of garlic.
"Jerry Green, can you tell me the answer?"
When Jerry saw Quirrell standing next to him, he knew something was wrong; the other guy was coming for him.
Jerry felt a little annoyed. The savior Harry Potter was sitting in the front row, so why were they coming to find him instead of Harry?
It's one thing that Dumbledore was spying on him, but now Quirrell is also targeting him?
What's wrong, Quirrell? You're planning to betray us too, aren't you, with your thick eyebrows and big eyes?
Jerry stood up, frowned, and said, "Avada Kedavra eating a melon?"
“Yes, well done, Jerry Green. Slytherin, five points!” Quirrell said excitedly upon hearing Jerry’s reply.
Not a single student in the classroom cheered at Professor Quirrell's decision to give Jerry extra points; not even the Slytherin students reacted. The entire classroom fell silent.
Almost all the young wizards looked at Jerry with eyes full of fear.
Looking at Quirrell's behavior, Jerry seriously suspected that Voldemort was currently controlling Quirrell's body.
……
After class, Jerry had just finished packing up his textbooks and was about to leave the classroom with Hermione when he noticed a change in the attitude of the people around him. Now everyone seemed to be deliberately avoiding him.
Harry and Ron approached them, and Ron said hesitantly, "Jerry, you'd better not say those words in public anymore, it's too scary!"
Jerry thought they were making a mountain out of a molehill. He didn't know how to use the Killing Curse, nor did he have a wand; he had only recited the incantation once.
But after seeing the tense and frightened reactions of the people around him, Jerry nodded and agreed.
Hermione said, "It's all Professor Quirrell's fault! How could he ask such a terrible question? Dark Arts class should be about learning how to defend against and counter Dark Arts, not discussing these frightening and unsettling topics!"
Just as the group was complaining about Quirrell, a Slytherin student suddenly walked over and interrupted their conversation: "Jerry, Professor Quirrell wants to see you in his office. He needs to talk to you."
A sense of foreboding washed over Jerry. He had no idea why Quirrell, or rather Voldemort, wanted to see him.
After saying goodbye to Hermione and the others, Jerry handed his textbooks to Hermione, and the two agreed to meet at the library.
Then he went up the stairs to Professor Quirrell's office.
Jerry felt a little uneasy, wondering what awaited him.
After knocking and entering, what came into view was a large desk in the center of the office, piled with various magic books and scrolls, some of which looked very old and had yellowed covers.
One side of the office is a huge window, inlaid with ancient stained glass, depicting some mysterious magical patterns.
In another corner of the office, there was a huge bookshelf filled with heavy magic books. Jerry didn't dare to look at it for long, afraid of seeing books he shouldn't see.
"Welcome, welcome Mr. Green! Please sit down and let's talk."
Quirrell is no longer the timid boy he used to be in class, and even his stutter has disappeared.
"Professor Quirrell, what brings you here?"
Quirrell replied, "It's nothing. You said a spell in class, didn't you? I was worried you might be bothered by it, so I wanted to comfort you."
Is the Dark Lord afraid Jerry will be tempted by dark magic, so he's here to give him psychological counseling? Is this a new hellish joke?
"Professor Quirrell, I'm actually fine, it's not a big deal, but my friends are still waiting for me. Can I go back first?"
Quirrell ignored Jerry's words and continued, "Capable, talented, and most importantly, ambitious, Jerry, I really admire you. Want to see real dark magic?"
Before Jerry could answer, Quirrell pulled out his wand and pointed it at a mouse on the corner of the table.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A beam of eerie green light shot out from the tip of the wand, like a venomous snake, swiftly piercing the air and striking its target.
The rat's body was instantly enveloped in the light, then it let out a miserable cry and stopped moving, leaving only a faint green light flickering in the air around its body.
Ding! Avada Kedavra Lv1, 76.5%
Seeing Jerry somewhat stunned, Quirrell also cast a killing curse on the other poor mouse.
Ding! Avada Kedavra Lv2, 1.65%
Holy crap, what do you mean by dark magic talent that surpasses human limits?! (Leans back tactically)
Jerry was so startled by the sudden scene that he took several steps back. He was frightened by the Killing Curse, but he was more afraid that Voldemort would confront him now, and if that happened, Jerry might not be able to leave this office.
Jerry quickly stopped Quirrell's next move, saying, "Professor, how can you use the Unforgivable Charm in front of a freshman?"
Seeing Jerry's panicked look, Quirrell said, "Jerry, you're different from them. You're more talented than them, and stronger than them. Excellent students always get some favor from teachers, don't they?"
Wiping the sweat from his brow, Jerry thought to himself, "If Dumbledore heard this, would he be treated as Voldemort's accomplice?"
Quirrell took a piece of parchment from the drawer, handed it to Jerry, and said, "This has my warrant on it. Take it to enter the restricted section of the library and have a look around! Trust me, you'll find a lot."
After receiving the warrant, Jerry said goodbye to Quirrell and left his office.
When Jerry walked out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, he found his back was soaked with cold sweat.
He strode towards the end of the corridor, eager to leave this thrilling place as soon as possible; the morning's experience had been far too exciting.
Chapter 30 For the Greater Good!
Inside Quirrell's office in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
Quirrell said, "Master, I really don't understand why you would take this risk? Is that little wizard really that important?"
A hoarse voice came from the back of Quirrell's head, cursing, "Fool, do you think Dumbledore didn't suspect you?"
"As for Jerry Green, he appears humble and elegant, but this is like a veil that conceals his ambition. The pride and tyranny in his eyes cannot be hidden, and his thirst for power will make him our friend, not our enemy, in the future!"
Hearing Voldemort's words, Quirrell still said with some unease, "But Jerry G..."
"Shut up, you idiot! How dare you question me!"
Then, cries of agony and screams came from Quirrell's office.
……
After leaving Quirrell's office, Jerry jogged to the library. Before he could even enter, he saw Hermione and Snape in the corridor outside the library.
Jerry, thinking Snape was causing trouble for Hermione, quickly ran over and stood in front of Hermione, saying to Snape, "Professor, is there something you need?"
Before Snape could speak, Hermione tugged at Jerry's sleeve from behind and whispered in his ear, "Jerry, Professor Snape is here to see you!"
Snape ignored their little antics in front of him, and simply said to Jerry with a cold face, "Come with me, someone wants to see you!" before turning and leaving.
After apologizing to Hermione, Jerry caught up with Snape.
