Mystery: A Spark

Pfft… Klein felt like his laughter was about to snap, so he coughed lightly and said:
"What then?"
"Later... I returned to my clan to ask for help from a more noble person, but I was refused. They did not want to have a conflict with a follower of the Earth Mother Goddess and wanted to find another way."
“But I can’t wait any longer, because I feel more and more that life is precious and a bountiful harvest is something to be cherished,” Emlyn said with a somewhat dejected expression.
"So what does this have to do with the Fool?" Klein was still a little confused.
“A esteemed lord, though he refused my request, told me that I could try praying to a mysterious being known as the ‘Fool,’” Emlyn replied in a low voice.
"The powerful figures in your clan asked you to pray to a hidden being outside the Seven Gods?" Klein found it somewhat absurd.
And most importantly, how did the vampires know the name "The Fool"?
He had always been very careful to hide his identity, especially after learning about the "Three Ghosts" from Arthur, he became even more cautious.
After all, he didn't want to be approached by the Secret Order or that guy named Amon one day to check his water meter.
No, I overlooked that Arthur once said that "The Fool" is the pinnacle of the Diviner's path. The "Fool" that the vampires were talking about might not be referring to me... Klein suddenly realized something.
This gray fog of his was a freebie, most likely a remnant of the previous "Fool".
That is precisely why Klein was able to disguise himself as "The Fool".
But only he knew about this.
To others, it looked as if the mysterious figure of "The Fool" had been resurrected.
But what purpose did the vampires have in making Emlyn pray to me? How did they know about me? Klein was completely confused.
He considered it for a moment and said:
"I don't know what your vampire expert is thinking, but I must remind you..."
"According to incomplete statistics, of every 100 people who pray to a mysterious being whose situation is unknown, 30 will not receive any response, and 68 will encounter all sorts of terrible things, resulting in death or a fate worse than death."
"Only two cases have a chance of success and getting what they want, but the price they pay may not be what they are willing to pay."
He fabricated this data, but based on the files he had seen when he was a night watchman, it was actually quite accurate.
“That terrifying?” Emlyn hesitated. “But that great man told me that among the mysterious beings there are those who abide by the rules and enjoy trading. The Fool is one such being. Moreover, that great man promised to protect me during my attempts if I wish.”
"Did your elder not force you to do anything?" Klein frowned, realizing something was amiss.
This feels like we're looking for guinea pigs. And the vampires even know I'm someone who enjoys trading.
"Well... I guess not," Emlyn replied vaguely.
Although Lord Nibais talked to him about the revelation of the first ancestors and the key to the end times, he did not force him to pray to the "Fool" immediately, but gave him some time to consider.
So, well, this shouldn't be considered a mandatory requirement.
Emlyn glanced at Klein and said in a low voice:
“I’m having a hard time deciding on this, and I don’t have many friends, nor do I want my parents to worry about me. Sherlock Moriarty, I know you are a knowledgeable extraordinary detective… so, what advice do you have?”
Emlyn already knew that Klein was an extraordinary being when he took him to find Arthur.
"Can that important figure you mentioned truly stand against the hidden existence?" Klein asked tentatively.
He feared that the other party, like that Amon, was after his gray mist.
“…No, I shouldn’t,” Emlyn stammered in reply.
Klein relaxed a bit and said:
"Then the question is very simple: can the idea of that important person, coupled with the temptation to get rid of the hidden danger, give you the courage to face a certain degree of danger? If you have the belief that you are willing to pay for it with your life, then the answer is very simple."
Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what to do.
Emlyn listened with a heavy expression, and instinctively retorted:
"If I really choose to try, it's not for myself, but for the future of the entire vampire clan. Solving the hidden danger is just a side benefit!"
For the sake of the entire vampire clan? What could I possibly have that involves the entire vampire clan? This guy's been fooled... Klein chuckled.
"You, an ordinary vampire, can concern yourself with the entire vampire race?"
“They’re vampires! Not bloodsuckers!” Emlyn emphasized, his voice low and strained.
He scratched his head, sighed, and said:
"Let me think about it some more...let me think about it some more..."
……
In the afternoon, at the Krag Club.
Klein planned to spend his afternoon here.
As soon as he entered the hall, he saw the riding instructor, Talim Dumont.
This descendant of nobility sat in the corner, holding a glass of scarlet wine, his face flushed, sipping it with great enthusiasm.
"Talim, you seem to be in a good mood," Klein greeted with a smile.
Talim chuckled:
"Because the New Year is approaching."
After saying that, he thought for a moment and asked:
"Sherlock, do you like dogs?"
What is the question? Klein answered without hesitation:
"I like them, especially those little dogs."
Although what he was actually raising were wolves.
Talim immediately perked up and pressed for an answer:
Have you ever considered getting a dog?
“Actually, I already have one, a little black puppy.” Klein apologized to Horus in his mind.
“A black dog is quite cute, but I prefer white dogs,” Talim said, stroking his chin. “I’ve been really thinking about getting a white dog to raise lately. Sherlock, do you know anyone who owns a white dog?”
"Yes, I do have some, but I doubt you can afford to raise that little guy..." Klein felt this topic was strangely familiar, and replied with a smile, trying to brush it off:
“I don’t know many people who keep dogs, but I’ve heard that many nobles keep dogs at home. Talim, you should have more connections in this area than I do.”
Talim sighed and said:
"I've already asked everyone I know, but I haven't found anyone I like."
"Well, there's nothing we can do about that. You can't force someone to have a first impression of you." Klein shrugged.
“Yes, I’ll keep looking.” Talim took a sip of red wine and added, “By the way, Sherlock, do you need me to recommend dog food? I’ve been doing quite a bit of research on it lately.”
Wolves should be able to eat dog food, right...? Klein hesitated for a moment, then said:
"Okay, then give me some recommendations."
……
Night falls somewhere in the spirit world, inside a solemn black castle.
A blond, red-eyed man in a burgundy suit was sitting in a high-backed chair, leisurely sipping a colorless, transparent liquor.
A moment later, a small white figure appeared at the table in front of him, looked around, and said:
"Tsk tsk, Mr. Nalzdo, you're living a pretty good life these days."
"Heh, I just escaped from a difficult situation a while ago and was still a bit lost. Now that I'm gradually getting used to things, I naturally need to treat myself better," the blond middle-aged man said with a light laugh.
"They've even moved into castles! How decadent, so utterly decadent!" Arthas exclaimed, his face contorted with grief.
"Did you come here just to condemn me?" The blond man reached out and poked Arthas, causing him to stumble.
"Oh, of course not. I just wanted to come to the Spirit Realm to test out my new crystal ball, and I stopped by to see you on the way." Arthas sat up and said with a grin.
"Oh? You want to do astrology in the spirit world?" The blond man raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm, I think the astrological interpretation here will be more effective," Arthas said, spitting out a crystal ball.
It stretched out its two front paws, gently placed them on the crystal ball, then closed its eyes and began to chant.
Gradually, sparkling lights appeared inside the crystal ball, like a reflection of the starry sky.
Arthas opened his eyes and began to decipher, but an expression of disbelief quickly appeared on his face.
"Arthur...is going to die!?"

On the long table in the castle hall.
Arthas stared blankly at the crystal ball before him, feeling utterly absurd.
Arthas knew that Bernadette had once observed Arthur with her Eye of Insight but had not seen anything.
So Arthas was just casually doing astrology on Arthur, and didn't really intend to find out anything.
However, to its utter surprise, this divination was no small matter, and it produced such an unbelievable result.
“Mr. Narzdor, astrology can be wrong, can it?” Arthas stared blankly at the crystal ball and asked in a low voice.
"Under normal circumstances, astrology is still reliable, otherwise it would not have been passed down to this day, and even become a signature skill of Sequence Seven of Extraordinary Paths."
“However, astrology isn’t omnipotent; it’s merely a form of revelation,” Nalzdo replied, frowning as he looked at the crystal ball on the table.
"No! It must be wrong! There can't be such a revelation!" Arthas glared at Narzdor and shouted.
Nalzdo looked at it calmly without saying a word.
Arthas's expression gradually turned dejected. He slumped onto the table, tears welling in his eyes, his voice choked with emotion.
“Arthur won’t die… He can’t die… He said he would always be with me…”
Nalzdo stared at the crystal ball in silence.
He naturally understood astrology, so he knew that Arthas's interpretation was correct.
The astrological result was absolutely certain: Arthas's master would surely die in the near future.
