"A spirit creature?"

Bonova was taken aback.

This idea did seem quite novel to him; he had never actually thought of it before.

He wasn't truly incapable of creating intelligent mechanical life forms; after all, the fourth sequence of the Commoner pathway was called "Alchemist."

The extraordinary ability of this sequence is to imbue the objects it creates with a soul, which can be considered a special kind of life transmutation.

However, this kind of life-forging comes at a cost and cannot be mass-produced industrially, so Bonova did not adopt this method.

What he wanted was to create self-moving mechanical bodies entirely through replicable technology.

Unfortunately, he failed; the mechanical body he created did not have consciousness.

At this moment, Arthas offered him a new idea.

That is the spirit world.

As a Sequence 2 of the Generalist Path, Bonova naturally has the ability to travel to the Spirit Realm and has considerable knowledge of that place.

However, compared to extraordinary pathways closely related to the spirit world, such as the Three Schools of Ghosts, Prisoners, and the Grim Reaper of the Night, the abilities of the Generalist pathway are more inclined towards the mortal world.

This is why Bonova hadn't considered the spirit world aspect beforehand.

Alsace, however, is different.

Having spent its days frolicking in the spirit world, upon hearing about Bonova's problem, its first thought was to use spirit creatures to solve it.

"Yes, Mr. Bonova, the robot puppet you created lacks consciousness, so we'll just implant a consciousness into it."

“My master doesn’t have it,” Arthas shook his head, “but I can solve this problem.”

"You can solve this?" Bonova asked, somewhat surprised. He realized he seemed to have misunderstood something. "Wait, weren't these ideas you just mentioned what your master sent you to tell me?"

He assumed that Arthur had come up with these brilliant ideas halfway through his journey, so he sent Arthas to tell him.

Now it seems he misunderstood?

"Your own thoughts?" Bonova raised an eyebrow.

He looked Arthas over carefully, feeling as if he had only just met Arthur's little pet today.

“This place isn’t big enough,” Arthas said after looking around.

He picked up Arthas and carried him out of the laboratory, to the door of another room in the corridor.

Open the door, and you'll find a staircase leading downwards.

After descending the stairs and walking a short distance, Bonova and Alsace arrived at a very spacious underground space, comparable to a plaza.

“This is a weapons testing ground, and also a place where some sealed artifacts are tested. It should meet your requirements, right?” Bonova ruffled the head of the puppy in her arms, feeling that it felt quite nice.

Instantly, a chilling black mist began to permeate the area, and the once brightly lit underground experimental field began to darken.

Within the black mist that spread across the field, ferocious and terrifying figures emerged.

They were either made entirely of bones or had illusory forms, but without exception, they all had eerie green flames in their eye sockets.

This signifies their identity as undead creatures.

“Mr. Bonova,” Arthas turned around, “are they still worth using?”

Bonova: ...

After a long silence, he finally spoke and asked:

"Does your master know about this?"

“Uh… I don’t know.” Arthas shook his head.

"..." Another silence.

After a while, Bonova asked again:

"Then... do you know the nature of this matter?"

"What nature?" Arthas asked, puzzled.
